Cupping therapy for patients with chronic urticaria: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Background:Chronic urticaria(CU)is a common skin disease,which has a negative effect on quality of *** treatments do not fully control the symptoms of urticaria for many CU patients,thus effective and safe treatments for CU are still ***:This review aims to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of cupping therapy in patients with *** strategy:The search strategy looked for the presence of related keywords,such as‘‘chronic urticaria"and‘‘cupping therapy,"in the title and abstract of research articles indexed in major *** controlled trials(RCTs)were selected after querying nine electronic databases from their inception to May 2019 with the above search *** criteria:RCTs were included if they recruited patients with CU who were intervened with dry or wet *** could be written in Chinese or *** extraction and analysis:Data were extracted,and the studies were assessed for the quality of their methodological design and risk of ***-analyses of the RCT data were conducted to assess the total effective rate of the treatment as the primary *** disease quality of life index score,recurrence rate,and adverse events were assessed as secondary *** analyses were conducted based on different ***:Thirteen comparisons from 12 RCTs involving 842 participants were *** were no significant differences between wet cupping and medications in total effective rate(n=372;risk ratio[RR]=1.10,95%confidence interval[CI]0.97 to 1.25;P=0.14)or recurrence rate(n=240;RR=0.56,95%CI 0.23 to 1.36;P=0.20).Cupping therapy,in combination with antihistamine treatment was more efficacious than antihistamines alone,with a greater total effective rate(n=342;RR=1.18,95%CI 1.01 to1.39;P=0.03)and lower recurrence rate(n=342;RR=0.52,95%CI 0.32 to 0.84;P=0.007).Cupping therapy combined with acupuncture was more effective than acupuncture alone(n=156;RR=1.25,95%CI 1.07 to 1.46;

Effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for treating functional constipation: An overview of systematic reviews

Background: Functional constipation(FC) is one of the most prevalent functional gastrointestinal disorders. Dissatisfaction with medications prescribed to treat FC may lead patients to seek alternative treatments. Numerous systematic reviews(SRs) examining the use of acupuncture to treat FC have reported inconsistent results, and the quality of these studies has not been fully ***: In this overview, we evaluated and summarized clinical evidence on the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for treating FC and evaluated the quality and bias of the SRs we *** strategy: The search strategy was structured by medical subject headings and search terms such as‘‘acupuncture therapy" and ‘‘functional constipation." Electronic searches were conducted in eight databases from their inception to September *** criteria: SRs that investigated the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for managing FC were *** extraction and analysis: Two authors independently extracted information and appraised the methodology, reporting accuracy, quality of evidence, and risk of bias using the following critical appraisal tools:(1) A Measurement Tool to Assess Systematic Reviews 2(AMSTAR 2);(2) Risk of Bias in Systematic Reviews(ROBIS);(3) Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses for Acupuncture(PRISMA-A);and(4) the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluations(GRADE). A j index was used to score the level of agreement between the 2 ***: Thirteen SRs that examined the clinical utility of acupuncture for treating FC were *** the AMSTAR 2 tool, we rated 92.3%(12/13) of the SRs as ‘‘critically low" confidence and one study as ‘‘low" confidence. Three-dimensional porous bimetallic metal–organic framework/gelatin aerogels: A readily recyclable peroxymonosulfate activator for efficient and continuous organic dye removal

As promising catalysts for the degradation of organic pollutants,metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)often face limitations due to the particle agglomeration and challenging recovery in liquid-catalysis application,stemming from their powdery *** macroscopic structures from pulverous MOF is thus of great importance for broadening their practical *** this study,three-dimensional porous MOF aerogel catalysts were successfully fabricated for degrading organic dyes by activating peroxymonosulfate(PMS).MOF/gelatin aerogel(MOF/GA)catalysts were prepared by directly integrating bimetallic FeCo-BDC with gelatin solutions,followed by freeze-drying and low-temperature *** FeCo-BDC-0.15/GA/PMS system exhibited remarkable performance in degrading various organic dyes,eliminating 99.2%of rhodamine B within a mere 5 *** to the GA/PMS system,there was over a 300-fold increase in the reaction rate ***,high removal efficiency was maintained across varying conditions,including different solution pH,co-existing inorganic anions,and natural water *** trapping experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance analysis revealed that the degradation involved radical(SO_(4)^(-)·)and non-radical routes(^(1)O_(2)),of which ^(1)O_(2) was ***,even after a continuous 400-min reaction in a fixed-bed reactor at a liquid hourly space velocity of 27 h^(-1),the FeCo-BDC/GA composite sustained a degradation efficiency exceeding 98.7%.This work presents highly active MOF-gelatin aerogels for dye degradation and expands the potential for their large-scale,continuous treatment application in organic dye wastewater management.

Cretaceous magmatic arc in Hainan and the peri-South China Sea asevidenced by geochemical fingerprinting of granitoids in the region

Mesozoic magmatic rocks occur widely in the South China Block and are generally interpreted as the manifestations of the subduction of the Paleo-Pacific oceanic lithosphere beneath *** magmatism in southeast(SE)China continued from the Late Permian through the Late Cretaceous with an inferred lull between 125 Ma and 115 Ma that is known in the literature as the Cretaceous"magmatic quiescence".We report in-situ zircon U-Pb ages,Hf-O and whole-rock Sr-Nd isotopes,and whole-rock geochemistry of Cretaceous granitoids on Hainan Island and discuss their magmatic evolution within the framework of the Late Mesozoic geodynamics of SE *** recognize two main stages of the emplacement of Cretaceous granitoids on Hainan,first around 120 Ma and then around 100-95 Ma,displaying high-K calc-alkaline,I-type geochemical *** in both age groups are enriched in LILE and LREE,but depleted in Nb,Ta,Ba,Sr,and *** 120 Ma granites have zircon ε_(Hf)(t)values of-2.6 to 2.3 corresponding to Hf crustal model ages,ranging from 0.79 Ga to 1.03 Ga,and δ^(18)O values ranging from 6.9‰to 7.7‰.Zircons from 100-95 Ma granites have ε_(Hf)(t)values of-4.2 to 1.1 corresponding to Hf crustal model ages of 1.08 Ga to 1.42 Ga,and δ^(18)O values ranging from 6.7‰to 8.4‰.Increasing ε_(Hf)(t)values of the Cretaceous Hainan granites with younger crystallization ages indicate addition of more juvenile components and reworking of crustal material into their melt *** ε_(Nd)(t)values of the 120 Ma and 100-95 Ma granitoids range between-4.1 to-0.4 and-7.7 to-4.0,*** calculated two-stage model age of the 100-95 Ma granitoids clusters between 1.25 Ga and 1.53 *** isotopic data suggest that magmas of the Cretaceous granitoids were produced by partial melting of Mesoproterozoic metabasaltic rocks,which make up much of the crystalline basement of the southern Cathaysia *** geochemical and isotopic characteristics of the Cretaceous granitoids on H

Full-domain collaborative deployment method of multiple interference sources and evaluation of its deployment effect

This paper realizes the full-domain collaborative deployment of multiple interference sources of the global satellite navigation system(GNSS)and evaluates the deployment effect to enhance the ability to disturb the attacker and the capability to defend the GNSS during navigation *** evaluation indicators for the jamming effect of GNSS suppressive and deceptive jamming sources are first created,their evaluation models are built,and their detection procedures are sorted out,as the basis for determining the deployment *** principles for collaboratively deploying multi-jamming sources are developed to obtain the deployment structures(including the required number,structures in demand,and corresponding positions)of three single interference sources required by collaboratively ***,simulation and hardware-in-loop testing results are presented to determine a rational configuration of the collaborative deployment of multi-jamming sources in the set situation and further realize the full-domain deployment of an interference network from ground,air to *** evaluation indices for the deployment effect are finally developed to evaluate the deployment effect of the proposed configuration and further verify its reliability and rationality.

Investigating the causal associations between five anthropometric indicators and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease:Mendelian randomization study

BACKGROUND Although the etiology of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)has not been thoroughly understood,the emerging roles of anthropometric indicators in assessing and predicting the risk of NAFLD have been highlighted by accumulating *** To evaluate the causal relationships between five anthropometric indicators and NAFLD employing Mendelian randomization(MR)*** The Anthropometric Consortium provided genetic exposure data for five anthropometric indicators,including hip circumference(HC),waist circumference(WC),waist-to-hip ratio(WHR),body mass index(BMI),and body fat percentage(BF).Genetic outcome data for NAFLD were obtained from the United Kingdom Biobank and FinnGen ***-wide significant single nucleotide polymorphisms were chosen as instrumental *** MR(UVMR)and multivariable MR(MVMR)designs with analytical approaches,including inverse variance weighted(IVW),MR-Egger,weighted median(WM),and weighted mode methods,were used to assess the causal relationships between anthropometric indicators and *** Causal relationships were revealed by UVMR,indicating that a higher risk of NAFLD was associated with a perunit increase in WC[IVW:odds ratio(OR)=2.67,95%CI:1.42-5.02,P=2.25×10^(−3)],and BF was causally associated with an increased risk of NAFLD(WM:OR=2.23,95%CI:1.07-4.66,P=0.033).The presence of causal effects of WC on the decreased risk of NAFLD was supported by MVMR after adjusting for BMI and ***,no causal association between BF and NAFLD was *** addition,other causal relationships of HC,WHR(BMI adjusted),and BMI with the risk of NAFLD were not retained after FDR *** This study establishes a causal relationship,indicating that an increase in WC is associated with a higher risk of *** demonstrates that a suitable decrease in WC is advantageous for preventing NAFLD.
