The use of a biotrickling filter was investigated for a pilot field-scale elimination of NH3 gas and other odorous gases from a composting plant in Tongzhou District, Beijing. The inlet gas flow rate was 3500 m3/h and NH3 concentration fluctuated between 2.76–27.84 mg/m3, while the average outlet concentration was 1.06 mg/m3 with an average of 94.9% removal. Critical volumetric loading (removal efficiency=100%) was 11.22 g-N/(m3·h). The odor concentration removal was 86.7%. NH3 removal efficiency decreased as the free ammonia (FA) in the trickling liquid increased. The pressure drop was maintained at about 50 Pa/m and was never more than 55 Pa/m. During the experiment, there was neither backflushing required nor any indication of clogging. Overall, the biotrickling filter was highly efficient and cost-effective for the simultaneous biodegradation of NH3 and other odorous gases from composting, suggesting the possibility of treating odorous gases at the industrial level.

In this work,titanium-capped cobalt clathrochelates have been applied as secondary building units(SBUs) fo r the construction of supramolecular *** heterometallic wheel-like [Ti_(6) Co_(12)] complexes based on cobalt clathrochelates,[C_(6)H_(15)N_(4)]_(2)[TiCo_(2)(μ_(2)-Oipr)(Oipr)_(2)(Dmg)_(3)]_(6)(2,Dmg=dimethy[glyoxime) and H_(6)[TiCo_(2)(μ_(2)-Oipr)(Oipr)_(2)(Dmg)_(3)]_(6)(3),have been successfully synthesized and *** supramolecular stacking modes of these wheels are largely dependent on the applied synthetic conditions,which further impact their gas adsorption properties.

Magnesia castables have been widely used in metallurgical industries with the advantages of high refractoriness,non-polluting steel,and resistance to alkaline *** castables were prepared using strontium carbonate(SrCO_(3))as additive to enhance slag resistance and mechanical properties,and the influence of SrCO_(3) on the evolution of phases,microstructure and properties of magnesia castables sintered at different temperatures was *** results show that,with the introduction of SrCO_(3)(lower than 3 wt.%),elastic modulus,mechanical strength,thermal shock resistance and densification of magnesia castables were significantly enhanced owing to the formation of needle-like Ca_(0.9)Sr_(0.1)MgSi_(2)O_(6) phase and liquid phase when sintering at high temperatures,and the introduced SrCO_(3) presented minor effects on the mechanical properties of castables for its highly structural stability below 1100℃.During the slag corrosion process,SrCO_(3) and SiO_(2) in castables reacted with Al^(3+)in molten slag to form SrAl_(2)SiO_(8) phase,resulting in the increased slag viscosity and suppressed continuing penetration.

The effect of hydrogen addition on the deformation behavior of coarse-grained Ti-55 alloys(~20μm)was studied by uniaxial tension tests at high *** elongation of hydrogenated Ti-55 titanium alloy firstly increases and then decreases with hydrogen content increasing at 8750 *** highest elongation of 243.8%is obtained in the hydrogenated alloy with 0.1 wt%H,and the peak stress reaches a minimum value of 29.0 MPa in the hydrogenated alloy with 0.3 wt%*** with that of the unhydrogenated alloy,the elongation of the hydrogenated alloy with 0.1 wt%H increases by 41.3%and its peak stress decreases by 40.6%at 875℃.Hydrogen addition can promote the transformation of β phase and the dislocation *** hydrogen content can evidently improve the deformation properties of coarse-grained Ti-55 titanium alloy.

Background:Nutrient resorption is an important plant nutrient conservation strategy in ***,how shrub encroachment alters plant nutrient resorption processes is unclear in temperate ***,we collected green and senesced leaves of common sedge,grass,and shrub species in wetlands with high(50–65%)and low(20–35%)shrub covers in the Sanjiang Plain of Northeast China,and assessed the impact of shrub encroachment on leaf nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)resorption efficiency and proficiency at both plant growth form and community ***:The effects of shrub cover on leaf nutrient resorption efficiency and proficiency were identical among shrubs,grasses,and *** of plant growth forms,increased shrub cover reduced leaf N resorption efficiency and proficiency,but did not alter leaf P resorption efficiency and ***,the effect of shrub cover on leaf nutrient resorption efficiency and proficiency differed between plant growth form and community *** the community level,leaf N and P resorption efficiency decreased with increasing shrub cover because of increased dominance of shrubs with lower leaf nutrient resorption efficiency over grasses and ***,community‑level senesced leaf N and P concentrations increased with elevating shrub cover,showing a decline in leaf N and P resorption ***,the significant relationships between leaf nutrient resorption efficiency and proficiency indicate that shrub encroachment increased senesced leaf nutrient concentrations by decreasing nutrient resorption ***:These observations suggest that shrub encroachment reduces community‑level leaf nutrient resorp‑tion efficiency and proficiency and highlight that the effect of altered plant composition on leaf nutrient resorption should be assessed at the community level in temperate wetlands.

Due to limited flow capacity and the instability of the asymmetric structure of traditional baffle dropshafts,a novel baffle dropshaft with a symmetric structure,adopting the construction shield well directly,is proposed for large-range flow discharge in deep tunnel drainage *** this study,a two-phase flow field of the novel baffle dropshaft with three different baffle spacings was simulated at seven different flow rates with a three-dimensional(3D)numerical model verified with experiments,to study hydraulic characteristics of this novel baffle *** results show that the novel baffle dropshaft has a remarkable energy dissipation *** spacing of the novel baffle dropshaft has a greater effect on flow patterns and baffle pressure distributions than the comprehensive energy dissipation *** rate is a critical issue for the selection of baffle spacing in the *** guidance on baffle spacing selection and structure optimization for the application of this novel baffle dropshaft in deep tunnel drainage systems is proposed.

Epoxidation of the carbon-carbon double bonds on unsaturated rubber macromolecules can produce novel modified rubber species with special properties,and construct eco-friendly crosslinking pathway via the reaction of epoxide groups to solve the problems brought by conventional sulfur vulcanization *** this contribution,a novel modified product of isobutylene isoprene rubber(IIR),epoxyfunctionalized IIR(EIIR)was successfully prepared by in situ epoxidation technique for the first time,and the crosslinking of EIIR was achieved by the reaction of oxirane groups with maleic anhydride(MAH)without additional *** reaction conditions for preparing EIIR were optimized through systematic research on the epoxidation *** optimal condition,the degree of epoxidation of the rubber reached around 99%without side *** obtained EIIR/carbon black composites cured by MAH had excellent mechanical properties comparable to those of IIR *** importantly,compared with IIR composites,the air-tightness of the EIIR composites was improved by about 50%,and the flexural fatigue life of first-level cracks and sixth-level cracks was increased by several *** significant improvement of these properties is of great significance for the application safety and energy saving of IIR materials.

There are always severe stress concentrations around surface defects like grooves or bugles, which might induce the failure of solid materials and structures. In the present paper, we consider the elastic fields around nanosized bugles and grooves on solid surfaces. The influence of surface elasticity on the elastic deformation is addressed through a finite element method. It is found that when the size of defects shrinks to nanometer, the stress fields around such defects will be affected significantly by surface effects.

Two new ratiometric hypoxia probes(Ir-C343 and Ir-GFP)are synthesized by covalently incorporating florescent internal standard molecules coumarin 343(C343)and green fluorescent protein(GFP)into bis[1-(9,9-dimethyl-9H-fluoren-2-yl)-isoquinoline](succinylacetone)Ir(Ⅲ)(Ir-fliq),*** connecting with internal standard molecules,the Ir-fliq moiety still exhibits high sensitivity to oxygen concentration,while the fluorescence intensity of the internal standard remains relatively constant under different oxygen *** a result,a ratiometric response is realized that is only related to oxygen *** addition,Ir-GFP shows more promising applications in the ratiometric hypoxia imaging of cells due to its long excitation wavelength,good water solubility,high biocompatibility,and low relative fluorescence intensity compared with the phosphorescent emitter Ir-fliq.

A reduced surface electric field in an AlGaN/GaN high electron mobility transistor （HEMT） is investigated by employing a localized Mg-doped layer under the two-dimensional electron gas （2-DEG） channel as an electric field shaping layer. The electric field strength around the gate edge is effectively relieved and the surface electric field is distributed evenly as compared with those of HEMTs with conventional source-connected field plate and double field plate structures with the same device physical dimensions. Compared with the HEMTs with conventional sourceconnected field plates and double field plates, the HEMT with a Mg-doped layer also shows that the breakdown location shifts from the surface of the gate edge to the bulk Mg-doped layer edge. By optimizing both the length of Mg-doped layer, Lm, and the doping concentration, a 5.5 times and 3 times the reduction in the peak electric field near the drain side gate edge is observed as compared with those of the HEMTs with source-connected field plate structure and double field plate structure, respectively. In a device with VGS = -5 V, Lm 1.5 m, a peak Mg doping concentration of 8×10^17 cm-3 and a drift region length of 10 m, the breakdown voltage is observed to increase from 560 V in a conventional device without field plate structure to over 900 V without any area overhead penalty.
