Full-length transcriptome sequencing analysis reveals differential skin color regulation in snakeheads fish Channa argus

Albinism is a genetic disorder caused by a series of genetic abnormalities that result in a decrease in *** yellow snakehead fish(GCAS)has been discovered while the Channa argus(CAS)breeding,but the genetic mechanism that causes its albinism is not *** sequencing and comparison of CAS and GCAS skin using Oxford Nanopore Technologies(ONT)technology to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of snakehead albinism.27.1 G clean reads and 26,198 full-length non-redundant sequences were generated via ONT ***,8079 new transcripts and 7231 genes were identified by comparing and analyzing redundant removed transcripts and known reference genome *** results of DEGs analysis showed that a total of 59 transcripts were differentially expressed in the two groups,including 22 up-regulated transcripts and 37 down-regulated *** causative genes associated with albinism have been identified,including TYR(Tyrosinase)and SOX10(SRY-box transcription factor 10)(tyrosinase synthesis and metabolism),S-100(S100 calcium binding protein A1)(melanin production),NLRC3(NLR family CARD domain containing 3)(disease immunity)are significantly down-regulated in GCAS,while RhoGEFs expression(melanin synthesis)is *** interaction analysis revealed that GAPDH(Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase)is the top hub gene in the regulation of skin color in *** addition,the skin of snakehead fish is regulated by metabolic(GAPDH),immune[Tumor protein p53(TP53),C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 8(CXCL8),SRC proto-oncogene,non-receptor tyrosine kinase(SRC),CD274]and neural[Notch receptor 1(NOTCH1),C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 12(CXCL12)]related genes to achieve differences in skin *** findings in understanding the process by which albinism in fish develops.

Inactive elemental doping is commonly used to improve the structural stability of high-voltage layered transition-metal oxide ***,the one-step co-doping strategy usually results in small grain size since the low diffusivity ions such as Ti^(4+)will be concentrated on grain boundaries,which hinders the grain *** order to synthesize large single-crystal layered oxide cathodes,considering the different diffusivities of different dopant ions,we propose a simple two-step multi-element co-doping strategy to fabricate core–shell structured LiCoO_(2)(CS-LCO).In the current work,the high-diffusivity Al^(3+)/Mg^(2+)ions occupy the core of single-crystal grain while the low diffusivity Ti^(4+)ions enrich the shell *** Ti^(4+)-enriched shell layer(~12 nm)with Co/Ti substitution and stronger Ti–O bond gives rise to less oxygen ligand ***-situ XRD demonstrates the constrained contraction of c-axis lattice parameter and mitigated structural *** a high upper cut-off voltage of 4.6 V,the single-crystal CS-LCO maintains a reversible capacity of 159.8 mAh g^(−1)with a good retention of~89%after 300 cycles,and reaches a high specific capacity of 163.8 mAh g^(−1)at *** proposed strategy can be extended to other pairs of low-(Zr^(4+),Ta^(5+),and W6+,etc.)and high-diffusivity cations(Zn^(2+),Ni^(2+),and Fe^(3+),etc.)for rational design of advanced layered oxide core–shell structured cathodes for lithium-ion batteries.

Electroacupuncture Promotes Functional Recovery after Facial Nerve Injury in Rats by Regulating Autophagy via GDNF and PI3K/m TOR Signaling Pathway

Objective:To explore the mechanism of electroacupuncture(EA) in promoting recovery of the facial function with the involvement of autophagy,glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor(GDNF),and phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase(PI3K)/mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR) signaling ***:Seventy-two male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly allocated into the control,sham-operated,facial nerve injury(FNI),EA,EA+3-methyladenine(3-MA),and EA+GDNF antagonist groups using a random number table,with 12 rats in each *** FNI rat model was established with facial nerve crushing *** intervention was conducted at Dicang(ST 4),Jiache(ST 6),Yifeng(SJ 17),and Hegu(LI 4) acupoints for 2 *** Simone’s 10-Point Scale was utilized to monitor the recovery of facial *** histopathological evaluation of facial nerves was performed using hematoxylin-eosin(HE) *** levels of Beclin-1,light chain 3(LC3),and P62 were detected by immunohistochemistry(IHC),immunofluorescence,and reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction,***,IHC was also used to detect the levels of GDNF,Rai,PI3K,and ***:The facial functional scores were significantly increased in the EA group than the FNI group(P<0.05 or P<0.01).HE staining showed nerve axons and myelin sheaths,which were destroyed immediately after the injury,were recovered with EA *** expressions of Beclin-1 and LC3 were significantly elevated and the expression of P62 was markedly reduced in FNI rats(P<0.01);however,EA treatment reversed these abnormal changes(P<0.01).Meanwhile,EA stimulation significantly increased the levels of GDNF,Rai,PI3K,and mTOR(P<0.01).After exogenous administration with autophagy inhibitor 3-MA or GDNF antagonist,the repair effect of EA on facial function was attenuated(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusions:EA could promote the recovery of facial function and repair the facial nerve damages in a rat model of *** may exert this neuroreparative effect through

During our investigation of diatom biodiversity in xizang,two species exhibited unique morphological features discriminative from all previously known *** we describe these two species and describe as new the genus,Spargeria *** new genus features narrow to wide rectangular valves,narrow valve mantles,filiform raphe branches that occur on the valve face only,terminal raphe fissures straight or slightly deflected to same side,bow-tie shaped central areas,chambered striae present on the valve face only,being absent from the mantle,wider striae near the axial area and very narrow near the margin,multiseriate striae with small and round areolae that are occluded ***,Spargeria zhuii *** larger and robust valves,radiate striae,with one divergent stria near the apices,while Spargeria chenia *** smaller,with narrow valves,striae slightly radiate in the middle,becoming convergent or parallel near *** new genus belongs to the family Pinnulariaceae,and it was compared and contrasted with other genera of this *** work suggests the need for continued studies to document the biodiversity of diatoms in xizang.

Early systemic anticoagulation reduces hospital readmission in acute necrotizing pancreatitis patients:A retrospective cohort study

Background:Early systemic anticoagulation(SAC)is a common practice in acute necrotizing pancreatitis(ANP),and its impact on in-hospital clinical outcomes had been ***,whether it affects long-term outcomes is *** study aimed to evaluate the effect of SAC on 90-day readmission and other long-term outcomes in ANP ***:During January 2013 and December 2018,ANP patients admitted within 7 days from the onset of abdominal pain were *** primary outcome was 90-day readmission after *** proportional-hazards regression model and mediation analysis were used to define the relationship between early SAC and 90-day ***:A total of 241 ANP patients were enrolled,of whom 143 received early SAC during their hospitalization and 98 did *** who received early SAC experienced a lower incidence of splanchnic venous thrombosis(SVT)[risk ratio(RR)=0.40,95%CI:0.26-0.60,P<0.01]and lower 90-day readmission with an RR of 0.61(95%CI:0.41-0.91,P=0.02)than those who did *** the quality of life,patients who received early SAC had a significantly higher score in the subscale of vitality(P=0.03)while the other subscales were all comparable between the two *** Cox regression model showed that early SAC was an independent protective factor for 90-day readmission after adjusting for potential confounders with a hazard ratio of 0.57(95%CI:0.34-0.96,P=0.04).Mediation analysis showed that SVT mediated 37.0%of the early SAC-90-day readmission ***:The application of early SAC may reduce the risk of 90-day readmission in the survivors of ANP patients,and reduced SVT incidence might be the primary contributor.

RNA modification is an essential component of the epitranscriptome,regulating RNA metabolism and cellular *** types of RNA modifications have been identified to date;they include N^(6)-methyladenosine(m^(6)A),N^(1)-methyladenosine(m1A),5-methylcytosine(m5C),N^(7)-methylguanosine(m^(7)G),N^(6),2′-O-dimethyladenosine(m^(6)Am),N4-acetylcytidine(ac^(4)C),*** modifications,mediated by regulators including writers,erasers,and readers,are associated with carcinogenesis,tumor microenvironment,metabolic reprogramming,immunosuppression,immunotherapy,chemotherapy,etc.A novel perspective indicates that regulatory subunits and post-translational modifications(PTMs)are involved in the regulation of writer,eraser,and reader functions in mediating RNA modifications,tumorigenesis,and anticancer *** this review,we summarize the advances made in the knowledge of different RNA modifications(especially m^(6)A)and focus on RNA modification regulators with functions modulated by a series of factors in cancer,including regulatory subunits(proteins,noncoding RNA or peptides encoded by long noncoding RNA)and PTMs(acetylation,SUMOylation,lactylation,phosphorylation,etc.).We also delineate the relationship between RNA modification regulator functions and carcinogenesis or cancer ***,inhibitors that target RNA modification regulators for anticancer therapy and their synergistic effect combined with immunotherapy or chemotherapy are discussed.

The spinel LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4)(LNMO)cathode active materials(CAMs)are considered a promising alternative to commercially available cathodes such as layered and polyanion oxide cathodes,primarily due to their notable safety and high energy density,particularly in their single-crystal ***,the industrial application of the LNMO CAMs is severely inhibited due to the interfacial deterioration and corrosion under proton-rich and high-voltage *** study successfully designed and synthesized two typical types of crystal facets-exposed single-crystal LNMO *** tracking the electrochemical deterioration and chemical corrosion evolution,this study elucidates the surface degradation mechanisms and intrinsic instability of the LNMO,contingent upon their crystal ***(111)facet,due to its elevated surface energy,is found to be more susceptible to external attack compared to the(100)and(110)*** study highlights the electrochemical corrosion stability of crystal plane engineering for spinel LNMO CAMs.
