Testing and Modeling of the Dynamic Response Characteristics of Pulsating Heat Pipes during the Start-up Process

Pulsating heat pipes(PHPs) are two-phase heat transfer heat pipes with high heat transfer capability and simple structure. Heating power is an important factor that affects the start-up response characteristics of PHPs. The operational characteristics during the start-up and stable operating stages were studied through experiments, and the corresponding dynamic response model under a specified heating power was established based on experimental data and flow pattern in the tube. The starting time, starting temperature, and dynamic response characteristic parameters at a certain heating power were calculated by the dynamic response model. The response characteristics of working fluid during the stable operation of PHPs were deduced based on the dynamic response curve of PHPs during the non-operational and stable operation stages. The response characteristics of PHPs for the step effect(given heating power) were quantitatively described by amplification factor K and time constant τ, thereby presenting the basis for the study on heat and mass transfer mechanisms of PHPs from non-operational to steady operation stage. Results showed that the minimum thermal resistance and the minimum time constant of the PHP are approximately 0.28 °C/W and 75, respectively, obtained at a heating power of 160 W. Moreover, these results indicated that the dynamic response of PHPs demonstrates a favourable performance and rapidly reaches another stable working state when their heat transfer performance is stable. However, the dynamic response time constant of pure fluids decreases when the quantity of the liquid working fluid in the PHP decreases with the increase in heating power.

防火幕布对盖下运用库排烟及人员疏散影响

以某市典型的动车车辆段上盖开发式的盖下运用库为研究对象,应用Pathfinder软件模型与PyroSim软件模型的耦合模型,以发生火灾时烟气CO体积分数、烟气温度、能见度、所需疏散时间作为指标,对盖下运用库内发生火灾位置(西部火源、中部火源、东部火源)和有无防火幕布对烟气蔓延控制以及人员疏散的影响进行模拟研究。研究结果表明:有防火幕布,西部、中部和东部3处火源分别发生火灾600 s时:有大量的烟气在盖下运用库东墙处聚集,西侧没有烟气聚集;火源附近烟气温度、烟气CO体积分数、能见度3项指标均超过人体耐受值;逃生出口处3项指标均未超出人体耐受值,人员可通过逃生出口安全疏散。中部火源发生火灾600 s时:无防火幕布时,能见度低于人体耐受值,影响人员疏散;有防火幕布时,幕布内区域能见度低于人体耐受值,影响人员疏散,幕布外区域不影响人员疏散。防火幕布抑制烟气蔓延的效果非常明显。发生火灾后,影响人员疏散最主要的因素是能见度。对所研究的10个工况,有防火幕布、无防火幕布的可用疏散时间平均值分别是600.0、367.2 s,所需疏散时间平均值分别是205.0、240.1 s,富裕时间平均值分别是395.0、127.2 s。设置防火幕布能有效缩短所需疏散时间,增加富裕时间,增加人员疏散的安全性。

在线实时监测市政污水管道内污水的水位和流速能帮助市政管理部门精准掌握污水流动情况,及时了解管道出现的问题,提高工作效率。该文依据绕流理论设计并制作了一种基于浮球的水位和流速检测装置,通过测量浮球随水位变化的相对位移实现水位测量;通过测量流体对浮球的推力实现流速测量。装置的GSM/GPRS模块接收水位和流速的检测数据并传输至远程监控端,实现远程在线监测。在明渠标准实验台对该检测装置的水位和流速测量值进行标定和精度实验,实验结果表明:测量水位的偏差在±3 mm内,误差不大于其满量程的0.5%;流速测量偏差值在±0.04m/s内,误差不大于其满量程的5%。将该检测装置安装在实际的污水管道内,对污水水位和流速进行了为期三个月的实验监测,检测值的远程传输结果符合预期。

Stalk strength increases resistance to stalk lodging,which causes maize(Zea mays L.)production losses worldwide.The genetic mechanisms regulating stalk strength remain unclear.In this study,three stalk strength-related traits(rind penetrometer resistance,stalk crushing strength,and stalk bending strength)and four plant architecture traits(plant height,ear height,stem diameter,stem length)were measured in three field trials.Substantial phenotypic variation was detected for these traits.A genome-wide association study(GWAS)was conducted using general and mixed linear models and 372,331 single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs).A total of 94 quantitative trait loci including 241 SNPs were detected.By combining the GWAS data with public gene expression data,56 candidate genes within 50 kb of the significant SNPs were identified,including genes encoding flavonol synthase(GRMZM2G069298,ZmFLS2),nitrate reductase(GRMZM5G878558,ZmNR2),glucose-1-phosphate adenylyltransferase(GRMZM2G027955),and laccase(GRMZM2G447271).Resequencing GRMZM2G069298 and GRMZM5G878558 in all tested lines revealed respectively 47 and 2 variants associated with RPR.Comparison of the RPR of the zmnr2EMS mutant and the wild-type plant under high-and low-nitrogen conditions verified the GRMZM5G878558 function.These findings may be useful for clarifying the genetic basis of stalk strength.The identified candidate genes and variants may be useful for the genetic improvement of maize lodging resistance.

Memory analysis gains a weight in the area of computer live forensics.How to get network connection information is one of the challenges in memory analysis and plays an important role in identifying sources of malicious cyber attack. It is more difficult to find the drivers and get network connections information from a 64-bit windows 7 memory image file than from a 32-bit operating system memory image file. In this paper, an approach to find drivers and get network connection information from 64-bit windows 7 memory images is given. The method is verified on 64-bit windows 7 version 6.1.7600 and proved reliable and efficient.

Blockchain technology,with its attributes of decentralization,immutability,and traceability,has emerged as a powerful catalyst for enhancing traditional industries in terms of optimizing business processes.However,transaction performance and scalability has become the main challenges hindering the widespread adoption of blockchain.Due to its inability to meet the demands of high-frequency trading,blockchain cannot be adopted in many scenarios.To improve the transaction capacity,researchers have proposed some on-chain scaling technologies,including lightning networks,directed acyclic graph technology,state channels,and shardingmechanisms,inwhich sharding emerges as a potential scaling technology.Nevertheless,excessive cross-shard transactions and uneven shard workloads prevent the sharding mechanism from achieving the expected aim.This paper proposes a graphbased sharding scheme for public blockchain to efficiently balance the transaction distribution.Bymitigating crossshard transactions and evening-out workloads among shards,the scheme reduces transaction confirmation latency and enhances the transaction capacity of the blockchain.Therefore,the scheme can achieve a high-frequency transaction as well as a better blockchain scalability.Experiments results show that the scheme effectively reduces the cross-shard transaction ratio to a range of 35%-56%and significantly decreases the transaction confirmation latency to 6 s in a blockchain with no more than 25 shards.

Background:Findings on the association of genetic factors and colorectal cancer(CRC)survival are limited and inconsistent,and revealing the mechanism underlying their prognostic roles is of great importance.This study aimed to explore the relationship between functional genetic variations and the prognosis of CRC and further reveal the possible mechanism.Methods:We first systematically performed expression quantitative trait locus(eQTL)analysis using The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)dataset.Then,the Kaplan-Meier analysis was used to filter out the survival-related eQTL target genes of CRC patients in two public datasets(TCGA and GSE39582 dataset from the Gene Expression Omnibus database).The seven most potentially functional eQTL single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)associated with six survival-related eQTL target genes were genotyped in 907 Chinese CRC patients with clinical prognosis data.The regulatory mechanism of the survival-related SNP was further confirmed by functional experiments.Results:The rs71630754 regulating the expression of endoplasmic reticulum aminopeptidase 1(ERAP1)was significantly associated with the prognosis of CRC(additive model,hazard ratio[HR]:1.43,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.08-1.88,P=0.012).The results of dual-luciferase reporter assay and electrophoretic mobility shift assay showed that the A allele of the rs71630754 could increase the binding of transcription factor 3(TCF3)and subsequently reduce the expression of ERAP1.The results of bioinformatic analysis showed that lower expression of ERAP1 could affect the tumor immune microenvironment and was significantly associated with severe survival outcomes.Conclusion:The rs71630754 could influence the prognosis of CRC patients by regulating the expression of the immune-related gene ERAP1.Trial Registration:No.NCT00454519(https://clinicaltrials.gov/)

Genetic analysis of the seed dehydration process in maize based on a logistic model

Seed moisture at harvest is a critical trait affecting maize quality and mechanized production,and is directly determined by the dehydration process after physiological maturity.However,the dynamic nature of seed dehydration leads to inaccurate evaluation of the dehydration process by conventional determination methods.Seed dry weight and fresh weight were recorded at 14 time points after pollination in a recombinant inbred line(RIL)population derived from two inbred lines with contrasting seed dehydration dynamics.The dehydration curves of RILs were determined by fitting trajectories of dry weight accumulation and dry weight/fresh weight ratio change based on a logistic model,allowing the estimation of eight characteristic parameters that can be used to describe dehydration features.Quantitative trait locus(QTL)mapping,taking these parameters as traits,was performed using multiple methods.Single-trait QTL mapping revealed 76 QTL associated with dehydration characteristic parameters,of which the phenotypic variation explained(PVE)was 1.03%to 15.24%.Multipleenvironment QTL analysis revealed 21 related QTL with PVE ranging from 4.23%to 11.83%.Multiple-trait QTL analysis revealed 58 QTL,including 51 pleiotropic QTL.Combining these mapping results revealed 12 co-located QTL and the dehydration process of RILs was divided into three patterns with clear differences in dehydration features.These results not only deepen general understanding of the genetic characteristics of seed dehydration but also suggest that this approach can efficiently identify associated genetic loci in maize.
