Achieving flexible electronics with comfort and durability comparable to traditional textiles is one of the ultimate pursuits of smart *** printing is desirable for e-textile development using a simple and inexpensive ***,fabricating high-performance atop textiles with good dispersity,stability,biocompatibility,and wearability for high-resolution,large-scale manufacturing,and practical applications has remained ***,waterbased multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs)-decorated liquid metal(LM)inks are proposed with carbonaceous gallium–indium *** the assistance of biopolymers,the sodium alginate-encapsulated LM droplets contain high carboxyl groups which non-covalently crosslink with silk sericin-mediated MWCNTs.E-textile can be prepared subsequently via printing technique and natural waterproof triboelectric coating,enabling good flexibility,hydrophilicity,breathability,wearability,biocompatibility,conductivity,stability,and excellent versatility,without any artificial *** obtained e-textile can be used in various applications with designable patterns and ***-sensing applications of recognizing complex human motions,breathing,phonation,and pressure distribution are demonstrated with repeatable and reliable ***-powered and energy-harvesting capabilities are also presented by driving electronic devices and lighting *** proof of concept,this work provides new opportunities in a scalable and sustainable way to develop novel wearable electronics and smart clothing for future commercial applications.

The scalar-free black hole could be unstable against the scalar field perturbation when it is coupled to a Gauss–Bonnet(GB)invariant in a special *** is known that the tachyonic instability in this scenario is triggered by the sufficiently strong GB *** this paper,we focus on the time domain analysis of massive scalar field perturbation around the Schwarzschild de-Sitter black hole in Einstein-scalar–Gauss–Bonnet *** analyzing the scalar field propagation,we find that the scalar field will finally grow when the GB coupling is large *** could lead to the instability of the background black ***,we demonstrate how the mass of the scalar field and the GB coupling strength affect the onset of tachyonic instability.

Impurity formation mechanism of silicon carbide crystals smelted by Acheson process

In order to further promote the application of SiC refractories in modern steel metallurgy,the occurrence forms and formation mechanism of impurities in SiC crystals smelted by Acheson process were *** techniques of inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry,X-ray diffraction,and scanning electron microscopy were combined to examine the types and occurrence forms of impurities in smelted SiC *** results showed that the main impurities in the SiC are free Si,free C,oxides(CaO·Al_(2)O_(3)·2SiO_(2),3Al_(2)O_(3)·2SiO_(2),CaO·SiO_(2) and SiO_(2))and alloy phases(Fe_(x)Si_(y),Fe_(x)Si_(y)Ti_(z) and Fe_(x)Al_(y)Si_(z)).The formation process of impurities during the smelting of SiC can be described as follows:At high temperature,the SiO_(2) and Fe,Ti related oxide impurities present in the raw materials are reduced to Si,Fe,and Ti metal *** the reduction process,the free Si,Fe_(x)Si_(y) and Fe_(x)Si_(y)Ti_(z) are precipitated from the melt during *** Si primarily exists in aggregated form within the SiC crystal,while the alloy phase is predominantly found at the interface between SiC and free Si,with Fe_(x)Si_(y)Ti_(z) embedded within *** the end of the cooling process,other impurity oxides such as Al_(2)O_(3),CaO,and some unreduced SiO_(2) solidify to form calcium-aluminum-silicate glass phases,predominantly located between SiC *** remaining C from the reaction is mainly dispersed as free C within the SiC crystal and at the interface between SiC and free Si.

Acetic acid- and furfural-based adaptive evolution of Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains for improving stress tolerance and lignocellulosic ethanol production

Acetic acid and furfural are known as prevalent inhibitors deriving from pretreatment during lignocellulosic ethanol production. They negatively impact cell growth, glucose uptake and ethanol biosynthesis of Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains. Development of industrial S. cerevisiae strains with high tolerance towards these inhibitors is thus critical for efficient lignocellulosic ethanol production. In this study, the acetic acid or furfural tolerance of different S. cerevisiae strains could be significantly enhanced after adaptive evolution via serial cultivation for 40 generations under stress conditions. The acetic acid-based adaptive strain SPSC01-TA9 produced 30.5 g center dot L-1 ethanol with a yield of 0.46 g center dot g-1 in the presence of 9 g center dot L-1 acetic acid, while the acetic acid/furfural-based adaptive strain SPSC01-TAF94 produced more ethanol of 36.2 g center dot L-1 with increased yield up to 0.49 g center dot g-1 in the presence of both 9 g center dot L-1 acetic acid and 4 g center dot L-1 furfural. Significant improvements were also observed during non-detoxified corn stover hydrolysate culture by SPSC01-TAF94, which achieved ethanol production and yield of 29.1 g center dot L-1 and 0.49 g center dot g-1, respectively, the growth and fermentation efficiency of acetic acid/furfural-based adaptive strain in hydrolysate was 95% higher than those of wildtype strains, indicating the acetic acid- and furfural-based adaptive evolution strategy could be an effective approach for improving lignocellulosic ethanol production. The adapted strains developed in this study with enhanced tolerance against acetic acid and furfural could be potentially contribute to economically feasible and sustainable lignocellulosic biorefinery. Lithium metal batteries are regarded as prominent contenders to address the pressing needs owing to the high theoretical *** the broader implementation,the primary obstacle lies in the intricate multi-electron,multi-step redox reaction associated with sluggish conversion kinetics,subsequently giving rise to a cascade of parasitic *** order to smooth reaction kinetics,catalysts are widely introduced to accelerate reaction rate via modulating the energy *** past decades,a large amount of research has been devoted to the catalyst design and catalytic mechanism exploration,and thus the great progress in electrochemical performance has been ***,it is necessary to make a comprehensive review toward key progress in catalyst design and future development *** this review,the basic mechanism of lithium metal batteries is provided along with corresponding advantages and existing challenges detailly *** main catalysts employed to accelerate cathode reaction with emphasis on their catalytic mechanism are summarized as ***,the rational design and innovative direction toward efficient catalysts are suggested for future application in metal-sulfur/gas battery and *** review is expected to drive and benefit future research on rational catalyst design with multi-parameter synergistic impacts on the activity and stability of next-generation metal battery,thus opening new avenue for sustainable solution to climate change,energy and environmental issues,and the potential industrial economy.

Effects of thinning and understory removal on water use efficiency of Pinus massoniana:evidence from photosynthetic capacity and stable carbon isotope analyses

Understanding the relationship between forest management and water use efficiency(WUE)is important for evaluating forest adaptability to climate ***,the effects of thinning and understory removal on WUE and its key controlling processes are not well understood,which limits our comprehension of the physiological mechanisms of various management *** this study,four forest management measures(no thinning:NT;understory removal:UR;light thinning:LT;and heavy thinning:HT)were carried out in Pinus massoniana plantations in a subtropical region of *** capacity and needle stable carbon isotope composition(δ^(13)C)were measured to assess instantaneous water use efficiency(WUE_(inst))and long-term water use efficiency(WUE_(i)).Multiple regression models and structural equation modelling(SEM)identified the effects of soil properties and physiological performances on WUE_(inst)and WUE_(i).The results show that WUE_(inst)values among the four treatments were ***,compared with the NT stand(35.8μmol·mol^(-1)),WUE_(i)values significantly increased to 41.7μmol·mol^(-1)in the UR,50.1μmol·mol^(-1)in the LT and 46.6μmol·mol^(-1)in HT treatments,largely explained by photosynthetic capacity and soil water *** removal did not change physiological performance(needle water potential and photosynthetic capacity).Thinning increased the net photosynthetic rate(A_n)but not stomatal conductance(g_s)or predawn needle water potential(ψ_(pd)),implying that the improvement in water use efficiency for thinned stands was largely driven by radiation interception than by soil water *** general,thinning may be an appropriate management measure to promote *** WUE to cope with seasonal droughts under future extreme climates.

Screening and identification of functional bacterial attachment genes in aerobic granular sludge

The screening and identification of attachment genes is important to exploring the formation mechanism of biofilms at the gene *** is helpful to the development of key culture technologies for aerobic granular sludge(AGS).In this study,genome-wide sequencing and gene editing were employed for the first time to investigate the effects and functions of attachment genes in *** the help of whole-genome analysis,ten attachment genes were screened from thirteen genes,and the efficiency of gene screening was greatly ***,two attachment genes were selected as examples to further confirm the gene functions by constructing gene-knockout recombinant mutants of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia;when the two attachment genes were knocked out,the attachment potential was reduced by 50.67%and 43.93%,*** results provide a new theoretical principle and efficient method for the development of AGS from the perspective of attachment genes.

A passive wireless surface acoustic wave(SAW)sensor system for detecting warfare agents based on fluoroalcohol polysiloxane film

Long-term monitoring of environmental warfare agengts is a challenge for chemical gas *** address this issue,we developed a 433 MHz passive wireless surface acoustic wave(WSAW)gas sensor for dimethyl methylphosphonate(DMMP)*** WSAW gas sensor includes a YZ lithium niobate(LiNbO_(3))substrate with metallic interdigital transducers(IDTs)etched on it,and an antenna was placed near the IDT.A DMMP-sensitive viscoelastic polymer fluoroalcoholpolysiloxane(SXFA)film was prepared on a LiNbO_(3) substrate,and mode modeling coupling was used to optimize the design *** sensor can function properly in an environments between−30℃ and 100℃ with humidity less than 60%*** the wireless transmission distance was within the range of 0-90 cm,the sensor noise increased with distance,and the stability was less than 32°/*** optimizing the film thickness of SXFA,a relationship was observed between sensor sensitivity and film *** the film thickness of SXFA reached 450 nm,the optimal value was *** a distance of 20 cm between the transmitting and receiving antennas,DMMP was detected at different concentrations with the developed WSAW gas *** lower detection limit of DMMP was 0.48 mg/m^(3),the sensitivity of the sensor was 4.63°/(mg/m^(3)),and repeatable performance of the sensor was confirmed.

Laser-arc hybrid welding of AZ31B magnesium alloy was carried out,the effects of welding parameters on weld formation,microstructure homogeneity and mechanical properties were *** results showed that laser-arc hybrid welding was beneficial to improve the weld formation of magnesium alloy by inhibiting the defect of undercut and *** weld microstructure was mainly columnar grains neighboring the fusion line and equiaxed grains at the weld *** was interesting that the grain size at the upper arc zone was smaller than that at the lower laser zone,with the difference mainly affected by laser power rather than welding current and welding *** welding parameters were optimized as laser power of 3.5 kW,welding current of 100 A and welding speed of 1.5 m/*** this case,the weld was free of undercut and pores,and the tensile strength and elongation rate reached 252 MPa and 11.2%,***,the microstructure homogeneity was illustrated according to the heat distribution,and the evolution law of tensile properties was discussed basing on the weld formation and microstructure characteristics.

Retrieval-and-alignment based large-scale indoor point cloud semantic segmentation

Current methods for point cloud semantic segmentation depend on the extraction of descriptive features. However, unlike images, point clouds are irregular and often lack texture information, making it demanding to extract discriminative features. In addition, noise, outliers, and uneven point distribution are commonly present in point clouds, which further complicates the segmentation task. To address these problems, a novel architecture is proposed for direct and accurate large-scale point cloud segmentation based on point cloud retrieval and alignment. The proposed approach involves using a feature-based point cloud retrieval method for searching for reference point clouds with annotations from a dataset. In the following segmentation stage, an overlap-based point cloud registration method has been developed to align the target and reference point clouds. For accurate and robust alignment, an overlap region estimation module is trained to locate the optimal overlap region between two pieces of point clouds in a coarse-to-fine manner. In the detected overlap region, the global and local features of the points are extracted and combined for featuremetric registration to obtain accurate transformation parameters between the target and reference point clouds. After alignment, the annotated segmentation of the reference is transferred to the target point clouds to obtain accurate segmentation results. Extensive experiments are conducted to show that the developed method outperforms the state-of-the-art approaches in terms of both accuracy and robustness against noise and outliers.
