A novel alkalizing strain Enterobacter ***-2 that could resist 400 mg/L Cd was isolated from Cd-contaminated soil,which immobilized 96.05%Cd^(2+)from *** distribution analysis demonstrated that more than half of the Cd^(2+)was converted into extracellular precipitated Cd through mobilization of the alkali-producing mechanism by the strain LYX-2,achieving the high immobilization efficiency of Cd^(2+).Biosorption experiments revealed that strain LYX-2 had superior biosorption capacity of 48.28 mg/g for *** experiments with Brassica rapa *** performed with and without strain *** to control,15.92%bioavailable Cd was converted to non-bioavailable Cd and Cd content in aboveground vegetables was decreased by 37.10%with addition of strain *** Cd was mainly immobilized through extracellular precipitation,cell-surface biosorption and intracellular accumulation of strain LYX-2,which was investigated through Cd distribution,Scanning Electron Microscope and Energy-Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy(SEM-EDS),Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FT-IR),X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy(XPS)and Transmission Electron Microscopy(TEM)*** addition,the application of strain LYX-2 significantly promoted the growth of vegetables about *** results indicated that highly Cd-resistant alkalizing strain LYX-2,as a novel microbial passivator,had excellent ability and reuse value to achieve the remediation of Cd-contaminated soil coupled with safe production of vegetables simultaneously.

To assess the effects of single and combined pollution of cadmium (Cd) and mercury (Hg) on soil micro-bial community structural and functional diversities, an incubation experiment was conducted, by employing two soils, namely, the marine sediment silty loam soil and the yellowish-red soil, in which five levels of Cd, Hg and Cd and Hg in combination were added. After being incubated for 56 days, the phospholipid fatty acids (PLFAs) profile and sole carbon source utilization pattern (BIOLOG) of the samples were tested. The results showed that the compo-sition of the microbial communities changed significantly at different levels of metals application. The principal component analyses (PCA) of PLFAs indicated that the structure of the microbial community was also significantly altered with increasing levels of metals, with increasing PLFAs biomarkers for fungi and actinomycetes, and in-creasing ratio of Gram-positive to Gram-negative bacteria. Sole carbon source utilization pattern analysis revealed that single and combined application of Cd and Hg inhibited significantly the functional activity of soil microorgan-isms, the functional diversity indices [Richness (S), Shannon-Wiener indices (H) and Evenness (EH)] were signifi-cantly lower in polluted soils than those in non-polluted soils, which also significantly altered with increasing levels of metals. PCA for the sole carbon source utilization pattern also indicated that the metal contamination could result in a variable soil microbial community. The results revealed that the combination of Cd and Hg had higher toxicity to soil microbial community structural and functional diversities than the individual application of Cd or Hg.

The rapid development and widespread use of ZnO nanoparticles(nZnO) in various industries have raised concerns about their potential environmental ***,understanding the fate and role of nZnO in the natural environment is crucial for mitigating their hazardous effects on the environment and human *** purpose of the present study was to provide scientific support for understanding and eliminating the joint risk of nanoparticle and heavy metal pollution in the soil environment by revealing the co-transport characteristics of Cd(Ⅱ) and ZnO nanoparticles(nZnO) in soil under different ionic strength(IS) and *** impacts of different IS and pH on the co-transport of Cd(Ⅱ) and nZnO in a20 cm long with an inner diameter of 2.5 cm acrylic column packed with 10 cm high soil samples were investigated in the present *** the above system,a500 μg L^(-1) Cd(Ⅱ) loaded nZnO suspension pulse with varying IS or pH was introduced into the soil column for leaching over 5 PVs,followed up by 5 PVs background solutions without *** IS was 1,10,or 50 mM NaCl,with pH6,or the pH was 6,7 or 8 with 1 mM ***,Sedimentation experiments for nZnO,adsorption of Cd(Ⅱ) on soil,and nZnO,DLVO theory calculation for the same background condition were *** presence of nZnO significantly increased the mobility of Cd(Ⅱ) as a result of its strong adsorption capacity for nZnO-associated Cd(Ⅱ).However,with the increase of IS,the co-transport of nZnO and Cd(Ⅱ) was decreased and the retention of nZnO in the soil column due to more nZnO attended to aggregate and sediment during the transport and the decrease in the adsorption capacity of nZnO for Cd(Ⅱ) by competition of Na^(+).When pH was 6,7,and 8,the co-transport of nZnO and Cd(Ⅱ) increased with higher pH due to the lower electrostatic attraction between nZnO and soil under higher ***,the DLVO theory was fitted to describe the above co-transport process of nZnO and Cd(Ⅱ).More attention should be paid to

Discovery and Content Variation Analysis of Fibrinolytic Enzyme in Semen Sojae Praeparatum Fermentation

A strong fibrinolytic activity was demonstrated in the Semen Sojae Praeparatum(SSP), which is a famous traditional Chinese medicine. To study the activities and dynamic changes of fibrinolytic enzyme, standard fibrin plate was used to determine the fibrinolytic activity. For the first time fibrinolytic enzyme was found during the fermentation of SSP and the fibrinolytic activities of samples were shown to increase significantly over time. In the "yellow cladding" stage, the fibrinolytic activity was 619.75 IU/g. On day 6, 12 and 15 of the "secondary fermentation" stage, the fibrinolytic activity was 711.49 IU/g, 866.67 IU/g, 1 022.31 IU/g, respectively. The results indicate that fibrinolytic enzyme was generated during the fermentation of SSP and it displayed increasing activity which peaked at the "secondary fermentation" stage. The fibrinolytic enzyme was found to not only degrades fibrin directly, but also activate plasminogen to do so.

Effect of Conformation on UV-Vis Absorption Spectra of Disazo Reactive Red Dyes

In this study,twenty disazo reactive red dyes with J acid as coupling components were selected,and their ground state geometry were studied with BLYP functional and TZVP basis set. The UV-vis absorption spectra were calculated by time-dependent density functional theory（TDDFT） employing B3 LYP and PBE0 hybrid functionals and TZVP basis set,and the absolute mean errors are 0.094 e V and 0.133 e V for B3 LYP and PBE0,respectively. From the comparison of the calculated λ_（max） of the three conformations of disazo reactive red dye,cis-,trans-,and azo,with that of experimental one,we find out that conformation plays an important role on UV-Vis absorption. Dyes 6 and 8 exist in azo conformation rather than in cis-conformation. ＂Hole-electron＂ distribution analysis reveals that although these λ_（max） arises from different electron transitions,these electron excitations have the same character of local excitation（LE）.

This paper reported the contents variation analysis ofγ-amino butyric acid(GABA)in Semen sojae praeparatum(SSP)which is a famous traditional Chinese *** performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)was used and GABA was derivatized by online pre-column derivatization with o-phthalaldehyde(OPA).To validate this method,the precision,stability,repeatability and recovery were *** the concentration range from 0.0125 to 0.400 mg/m L,the calibration curve for GABA was linear and the regression equation was obtained with correlation coefficient(R2)of *** high levels of GABA exist in SSP and the content changes of GABA at different time points during the fermenting process were *** the"yellow cladding"stage,GABA level was very low or even undetectable;the"secondary fermentation"stage witnessed a rapid increase of GABA content to 1.39-5.52 mg/g,which remained stable after 18 days of"secondary fermentation".This study demonstrated that GABA was generated at the"secondary fermentation"stage,revealing the significance and rationality of the"secondary fermentation"stage in the fermenting process of *** the other hand,it suggested the downside of taking soy isoflavones as the only measurement in existing quality assessment and optimization approach for the fermenting process of SSP.

How silicon fertilizer improves nitrogen and phosphorus nutrient availability in paddy soil?

In order to reveal the mechanism of silicon(Si)fertilizer in improving nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)nutrient availability in paddy soil,we designed a series of soil culture experiments by combining application of varying Si fertilizer concentrations with fixed N and P fertilizer *** the recommendations of fertilizer manufacturers and local farmers,we applied Si in concentrations of 0,5.2,10.4,15.6,and 20.8μg/*** each concentration of added Si,the availability of soil N and P nutrients,soil microbial activity,numbers of ammonia-oxidizing bacteria and P-decomposing bacteria which means that the organic P is decomposed into inorganic nutrients which can be absorbed and utilized by plants,and urease and phosphatase activity first increased,and then decreased,as Si was added to the *** indicators reached their highest levels with a Si application rate of 15.6μg/kg,showing values respectively 19.78%,105.09%,8.34%,73.12%,130.36%,28.12%,and 20.15%higher than those of the *** Si application(10.4 to 15.6µg/kg)could significantly increase the richness of the soil microbial community involved in cycling of N and P nutrients in the *** the Si application rate was 15.6μg/kg,parameters for characterizing microbial abundance such as sequence numbers,operational taxonomic unit(OTU)number,and correlation indices of microbial community richness such as Chao1 index,the adaptive coherence estimator(ACE)index,Shannon index,and Simpson index all reached maximum values,with amounts increased by 14.46%,10.01%,23.80%,30.54%,0.18%,and 2.64%,respectively,compared with the control *** is also a good correlation between N and P mineralization and addition of Si *** correlation coefficients between the ratio of available P/total P(AP/TP)and the number of ammonia-oxidizing bacteria,AP/TP and acid phosphatase activity(AcPA),AP/TP and the Shannon index,the ratio of available N/total amount of N(AN/TN)and the number of ammoniated

Combined Effect of Nutrient and Pest Management on Soil Ecological Quality in Hybrid Rice Double-Cropping System

The mineral fertilizers (NPK) and pesticide, including herbicides, insecticides and fungicides, were applied alone or in combination and the soil sampling was done at different growth stages during the crop cycle to study the changes in soil organic matter, microbial biomass and their activity parameters in a paddy soil with different nutrient and pest management practices in a hybrid rice double-cropping system. A consistent increase in the electron transport system (ETS) activity was measured during the different crop growth stages of rice. The use of fertilizers (NPK) alone or with pesticides increased ETS activity, while a decline of ETS activity was noticed with pesticides alone as compared with the control. Nearly an increasing trend in soil phenol content was observed with the progression of crop growth stages, while the usage of pesticides alone caused maximum increments in the soil phenol content. The soil protein content was found nearly stable with fertilizers and/or pesticides application at various growth stages in both crops taken. But notable changes were noticed at different growth stages probably because of fluctuations in moisture and temperature at particular stages, which might have their effects on N mineralization. Marked depletions in the phospholipid content were found with the advancement of crop growth stages, while the incorporation of fertilizers and/or pesticides also produced slight changes, in which a higher decline was noticed with pesticide application alone compared with the control.
