The naC transcription factor LunaC61 negatively regulates fiber development in flax (linum usitatissimum L.)

Flax is a crucial fiber crop that exhibits excellent textile properties and serves as a model plant for investigating phloem fiber development. The regulation of multiple genes significantly influences fiber development, notably involving naC(naM, ATAF1/2, CUC2) transcription factors in forming the fiber secondary cell wall(SCW).Overexpression of LunaC61 in flax resulted in sparse top meristematic zone leaves and significantly reduced stem cellulose content. Scanning electron microscopy and staining observations revealed a significant reduction in fiber bundles. β-Glucuronidase(GUS) staining analysis demonstrated high activity of the LunaC61 promoter in the bast fibers of the flax stem. Additionally, several members of the LuPLATZ and LuCesA families exhibited significant coexpression with LunaC61. Subcellular localization indicated the presence of LuPLATZ24 protein in the nucleus and cytoplasm, LunaC61 protein exclusively in the nucleus, and LuCesA10 in the nucleus and endoplasmic reticulum. LuPLATZ24 positively regulates LunaC61, whereas LunaC61 negatively affects LuCesA10, suggesting the involvement of a metabolic network in regulating flax fiber development. In conclusion, this study provides a critical opportunity for a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the mechanisms governing flax fiber development and the potential use of biotechnology to enhance flax fiber yield.

Despite the presence of li F components in the solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)formed on the graphite anode surface by conventional electrolyte,these li F components primarily exist in an amorphous state,rendering them incapable of effectively inhibiting the exchange reaction between lithium ions and transition metal ions in the ***,nearly all lithium ions within the SEI film are replaced by transition metal ions,resulting in an increase in interphacial impedance and a decrease in ***,we demonstrate that the SEI film,constructed by fluoroethylene carbonate(FEC)additive rich in crystalline li F,effectively inhibits the undesired li^(+)/Co^(2+)ion exchange reaction,thereby suppressing the deposition of cobalt compounds and metallic ***,the deposited cobalt compounds exhibit enhanced structural stability and reduced catalytic activity with minimal impact on the interphacial stability of the graphite *** findings reveal the crucial influence of SEI film composition and structure on the deposition and hazards associated with transition metal ions,providing valuable guidance for designing next-generation electrolytes.

Accurate dynamic modeling of landslides could help understand the movement mechanisms and guide disaster mitigation and *** deformation analysis(DDA)is an effective approach for investigating ***,DDA fails to accurately capture the degradation in shear strength of rock joints commonly observed in high-speed *** this study,DDA is modified by incorporating simplified joint shear strength *** on the modified DDA,the kinematics of the Baige landslide that occurred along the Jinsha River in China on 10 October 2018 are *** violent starting velocity of the landslide is considered *** cases with different violent starting velocities are investigated to show their effect on the landslide movement ***,the landslide movement process and the final accumulation characteristics are analyzed from multiple *** results show that the violent starting velocity affects the landslide motion characteristics,which is found to be about 4 m/s in the Baige *** movement process of the Baige landslide involves four stages:initiation,high-speed sliding,impact-climbing,low-speed motion and *** accumulation states of sliding masses in different zones are different,which essentially corresponds to *** research results suggest that the modified DDA is applicable to similar high-level rock landslides.

ATM Activation is Key in Vasculogenic Mimicry Formation by Glioma Stem-like Cells

Objective Vasculogenic mimicry(VM)is a novel vasculogenic process integral to glioma stem cells(GSCs)in glioblastoma(GBM).However,the relationship between VM and ataxia-telangiectasia mutated(ATM)serine/threonine kinase activation,which confers chemoradiotherapy resistance,remains *** We investigated VM formation and phosphorylated ATM(pATM)levels by CD31/GFAPperiodic acid-Schiff dual staining and immunohistochemical staining in 145 GBM *** stem-like cells(GSLCs)derived from the formatted spheres of U87 and U251 cell lines and their pATM level and VM formation ability were examined using western blot and three-dimensional *** the examination of the function of pATM in VM formation by GSLCs,ATM knockdown by shRnas and deactivated via ATM phosphorylation inhibitor KU55933 were *** VM and high pATM expression occurred in 38.5% and 41.8% of tumors,respectively,and were significantly associated with reduced progression-free and overall *** with VM-positive GBMs exhibited higher pATM levels(r_(s)=0.425,P=0.01).The multivariate analysis established VM as an independent negative prognostic factor(P=0.002).Furthermore,GSLCs expressed high levels of pATM and formed vascular-like networks in *** inactivation or knockdown hindered VM-like network formation concomitant with the downregulation of pVEGFR-2,VE-cadherin,and laminin *** VM may predict a poor GBM prognosis and is associated with pATM *** propose that pATM promotes VM through extracellular matrix modulation and VE-Cadherin/pVEGFR-2 activation,thereby highlighting ATM activation as a potential target for enhancing anti-angiogenesis therapies for GBM.
