In 2.09,the Consortium for the Barcode of Life(CBOL) recommended the combination of rbcL and matK as the plant barcode based on assessments of recoverability,sequencing quality,and levels of species ***,based on a study of more than 6600 samples belonging to 1.3 families from seven phyla,the internal transcribed spacer(ITS) 2.locus was proposed as a universal barcode sequence for all major plant taxa used in traditional herbal *** of these two studies was based on a detailed analysis of a particular ***,Zingiberaceae plants,including many closely related species,were used to compare the genetic divergence and species identification efficiency of ITS2.rbcL,matK,psbK-psbI,trnH-psbA,and *** results indicate that ITS2.has the highest interspecific divergence and significant differences between inter-and intraspecific divergence,whereas matK and rbcL have much lower divergence *** 2.0 species belonging to 30 genera in Zingiberaceae,the discrimination ability of the ITS2.locus was 99.5% at the genus level and 73.1. at the species ***,we propose that ITS2.is the preferred DNA barcode sequence for identifying Zingiberaceae plants.

Aim: To study the immunosuppressive activity of SM735 {[3-(1.0}β-artemisininoxy)] phenoxyl succinic acid}, a synthetic artemisinin derivative with nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug structure, with the aim of finding potential immunosuppressive agents. Methods: Concanavalin A (ConA), lipopolysaccharide (LPS), and mixed lymphocyte reaction (MLR), were used to induce the proliferation of splenocytes, and [~3H]-thymidine incorporation was used to evaluate the proliferation of splenocytes. Cytokine production was promoted with ConA, LPS, or PMA plus ionomycin, and was detected with the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Dinitrofluorobenzene (DNFB) and sheep red blood cells (SRBC) were used to induce delayed-type hypersensitivity and quantitative hemolysis of SRBC (QHS) mouse models, as criteria for the evaluation of in vivo immune activity. Results: SM735 strongly inhibited the proliferation of splenocytes induced by ConA, LPS, or MLR, withIC50) values of 0.33 μmol/L, 0.2. μmol/L, and 0.51.μmol/L, respectively. When compared with a CC50value of 53.1.μmol/L, SM735 had a favorable safety range. SM735 dose-dependently inhibited proinflammatory cytokine production [including interleukins (IL)-1.0} interferon (IFN)-γ and IL-6] induced by LPS or PMA plus ionomycin. Upon ConA stimulation, SM735 suppressed IFN-γ in a dose-dependent manner, but did not affect IL-2.secretion. SM735 also strongly suppressed both T-cell-mediated delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH) and B-cell-mediated QHS reactions. Conclusion: SM735 had strong immunosuppressive activity in vitro and in vivo, suggesting a potential role for SM735 as an immunosuppressive agent, and established the groundwork for further research on SM735.

STUDIES ON ION BEAM APPLICATION TO IMPROVE AQUATIC MACROPHYTE REMEDIATION CAPACITY IN EUTROPHIC WATERS

Using ion beam biotechnology in combination with soil-less plant cultivation on artificial substratum (floating beds), the experiments were conducted with Ipomoea aquatica Forsk. Plants were attached to floating-beds which were placed on the surface of artificially nutrient-enriched tank water, in order to study the purification and remediation efficiency of ion beam-treated I. aquatica cultivars. The results show that N + ion beams with 2.keV energy and dosages of 0, 2.6, 3.9, 5.2. 6.5, 7.8, 9.1.1. 1.N +(ions)/cm 2.affected I. aquatica dry seeds differently, with the dose of 3.9×1. 1.N + (ions)/cm 2.improving effectively the performance as expressed by various biological indices. After ion beam application, I. aquatica cultivars grew well in nutrient-enriched water bodies, increasing the growth of leaves and stem, number of leaves, length and area of roots, plant height, and weight more remarkably than observed in the control. The net removing rates of TN, TP were as high as 75% and 82., respectively. Especially under the dose of 3.9×1. 1.N +(ions)/cm 2. the net removing rates of TN, TP were highest, for 77% and 85%, respectively. It was proved that ion beam application improves phytoremediation and may be used to purify nutrient rich water bodies.

Various SARS-CoV-2.related coronaviruses have been increasingly identified in pangolins,showing a potential threat to *** we report the infectivity and pathogenicity of the SARS-CoV-2.related virus,PCoV-GX/P2.,which was isolated from a Malayan pangolin(Manis javanica).PCoV-GX/P2. could grow in human hepatoma,colorectal adenocarcinoma cells,and human primary nasal epithelial *** replicated more efficiently in cells expressing human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2.hACE2.as SARS-CoV-2.*** intranasal inoculation to the hACE2.transgenic mice,PCoV-GX/P2. not only replicated in nasal turbinate and lungs,but also caused interstitial pneumonia,characterized by infiltration of mixed inflammatory cells and multifocal alveolar *** population immunity established by SARS-CoV-2.infection and vaccination may not protect people from PCoV-GX/P2. *** findings further verify the hACE2.utility of PCoV-GX/P2. by in vivo experiments using authentic viruses and highlight the importance for intensive surveillance to prevent possible cross-species transmission.

The chinese tree shrew(Tupaia belangeri chinensis),a member of the mammalian order Scandentia,exhibits considerable similarities with primates,including humans,in aspects of its nervous,immune,and metabolic *** similarities have established the tree shrew as a promising experimental model for biomedical research on cancer,infectious diseases,metabolic disorders,and mental health ***,we used metatranscriptomic sequencing to analyze plasma,as well as oral and anal swab samples,from 1.5 healthy asymptomatic tree shrews to identify the presence of potential zoonotic *** total,eight mammalian viruses with complete genomes were identified,belonging to six viral families,including Flaviviridae,Hepeviridae,Parvovirinae,Picornaviridae,Sedoreoviridae,and ***,the presence of rotavirus was recorded in tree shrews for the first *** viruses-hepacivirus 1.parvovirus,and picornavirus-exhibited low genetic similarity(1.hepatovirus A and hepevirus-exhibited high similarity(>94%)to known viral *** analyses also revealed that the rotavirus and mammalian orthoreovirus identified in this study may be novel *** findings provide insights into the diverse viral spectrum present in captive chinese tree shrews,highlighting the necessity for further research into their potential for crossspecies transmission.

Background Necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC)is the most common severe gastrointestinal emergency in *** designed this study to identify the pathogenic microorganisms of NEC in the microbiota of the small intestine of *** Using the 1.S ribosomal DNA(rDNA)sequencing method,we compared and analyzed the structure and diversity of microbiotas in the intestinal feces of different groups of neonates:patients undergoing jejunostomy to treat NEC(NP group),neonates undergoing jejunostomy to treat other conditions(NN group),and neonates with NEC undergoing conservative treatment(NC group).We took intestinal feces and saliva samples from patients at different time *** The beta diversities of the NP,NN,and NC groups were all *** comparing the beta diversities between different time points in the NP group,we found similar beta diversities at time points El to E3 but significant differences between the E2.E3 and E4 time points:the abundances of Klebsiella and Enterococcus(Proteobacteria)were higher at the E1.E3 time points;the abundance of Escherichia-Shigella(Proteobacteria)increased at the E2.time point,and the abundance of Klebsiella decreased significantly,whereas that of Streptococcus increased significantly at the E4 time *** Our results suggest that the pathological changes of intestinal necrosis in the small intestine of infants with NEC are not directly caused by excessive proliferation of pathogenic bacteria in the small *** sources of microbiota in the small intestine of neonates,especially in premature infants,may be affected by multiple factors.

Patients with advanced gastric cancer typically face a grim *** phase 1.(dose escalation)and phase 1.(dose expansion)study investigated safety and efficacy of first-line camrelizumab plus apatinib and chemotherapyfor advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction *** primary endpoints included maximum tolerated dose(MTD)in phase 1. and objective response rate(ORR)across phase 1. and *** 1. tested three dose regimens of camrelizumab,apatinib,oxaliplatin,and *** regimen 1.camrelizumab 2.0 mg on day 1.apatinib 2.0 mg every other day,oxaliplatin 1.0 mg/m^(2. on day 1.and S-1.0 mg twice a day on days *** regimen 2.same as dose regimen 1.but oxaliplatin 1.0mg/*** regimen3:same as dose regimen 2.but apatinib 2.0 mg ***-four patients were included(9 in phase 1.,2. in phase 1.).No dose-limiting toxicities occurred so no MTD was *** 3 was set for the recommended phase 2.doses and administered in phase *** confrmed ORR was 76.5%(95%CI 58.8-89.3).The median progression-free survival was 8.4 months(95%CI 5.9-not evaluable[NE]),and the median overall survival(OS)was not mature(1..6-NE).Ten patients underwent surgery after treatment and the multidisciplinary team *** 2. patients without surgery,the median OS was 1..6 months(7.8-NE).Eighteen patients(52.9%)developed grade≥3 treatment-emergent adverse *** plus apatinib and chemotherapy showed favorable clinical outcomes and manageable safety for untreated advanced gastric cancer(ChiCTR2.000341.9).
