The repair of large load-bearing bone defects requires superior mechanical strength, a feat that a single hydrogel scaffold cannot achieve. The objective is to seamlessly integrate optimal microarchitecture, mechanical robustness, vascularisation, and osteoinductive biological responses to effectively address these critical load-bearing bone defects. To confront this challenge, three-dimensional (3D) printing technology was employed to prepare a polycaprolactone (PcL)-based integrated scaffold. Within the voids of 3D printed PcL scaffold, a methacrylate gelatin (GelMA)/methacrylated silk fibroin (SFMA) composite hydrogel incorporated with parathyroid hormone (PTH) peptide-loaded mesoporous silica nanoparticles (PTH@MSNs) was embedded, evolving into a porous PTH@MSNs/GelMA/SFMA/PcL (PM@GS/PcL) scaffold. The feasibility of fabricating this functional scaffold with a customised hierarchical structure was confirmed through meticulous chemical and physical characterisation. compression testing unveiled an impressive modulus of 17.81 ± 0.83 MPa for the composite scaffold. Additionally, in vitro angiogenesis potential of PM@GS/ PcL scaffold was evaluated through Transwell and tube formation assays using human umbilical vein endothelium, revealing the superior cell migration and tube network formation. The alizarin red and alkaline phosphatase staining assays using bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells clearly illustrated robust osteogenic differentiation properties within this scaffold. Furthermore, the bone repair potential of the scaffold was investigated on a rat femoral defect model using micro-computed tomography and histological examination, demonstrating enhanced osteogenic and angiogenic performance. This study presents a promising strategy for fabricating a microenvironment-matched composite scaffold for bone tissue engineering, providing a potential solution for effective bone defect repair. © 2024, chinese Medical Multimedia Press co Ltd. Topological materials, which feature robust surface and/or edge states, have now been a research focus in condensed maTher physics. They represent a new class of materials exhibiting nontrivial topological phases,and provide a platform for exploring exotic transport phenomena, such as the quantum anomalous Hall effect and the quantum spin Hall effect. Recently, magnetic topological materials have attracted considerable interests due to the possibility to study the interplay between topological and magnetic *** particular, the quantum anomalous Hall and axion insulator phases can be realized in topological insulators with magnetic order. MnBi2Te4, as the first intrinsic antiferromagnetic topological insulator discovered, allows the examination of existing theoretical predictions; it has been extensively studied, and many new discoveries have been made. here we review the progress made on MnBi2Te4from both experimental and theoretical aspects. The bulk crystal and magnetic structures are surveyed first, followed by a review of theoretical calculations and experimental probes on the band structure and surface states, and a discussion of various exotic phases that can be realized in MnBi2Te4. The properties of MnBi2Te4thin films and the corresponding transport studies are then reviewed, with an emphasis on the edge state transport. Possible future research directions in this field are also discussed.

In this study, an adaptive neural network(NN) control is proposed for nonlinear two-degree-offreedom(2-DOF) helicopter systems considering the input constraints and global prescribed ***, radial basis function NN(RBFNN) is employed to estimate the unknown dynamics of the helicopter system. Second, a smooth nonaffine function is exploited to approximate and address nonlinear constraint functions. Subsequently, a new prescribed function is proposed, and an original constrained error is transformed into an equivalent unconstrained error using the error transformation and barrier function transformation methods. The analysis of the established Lyapunov function proves that the controlled system is globally uniformly bounded. Finally, the simulation and experimental results on a constructed Quanser's test platform verify the rationality and feasibility of the proposed control.

The layer Hall effect describes electrons spontaneously deflected to opposite sides at different layers, which has been experimentally reported in the MnBi2Te4thin films under perpendicular electric fields. here, we reveal a universal origin of the layer Hall effect in terms of the so-called hidden Berry curvature, as well as material design principles. hence, it gives rise to zero Berry curvature in momentum space but non-zero layer-locked hidden Berry curvature in real space. We show that, compared to that of a trivial insulator, the layer Hall effect is significantly enhanced in antiferromagnetic topological insulators. Our universal picture provides a paradigm for revealing the hidden physics as a result of the interplay between the global and local symmetries, and can be generalized in various scenarios.

Objective: Psoriasis is associated with a high prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MS), and patients with concomitant psoriasis and MS are more severely affected and less responsive to treatment. However, the molecular mechanisms behind these effects are unknown. Recent studies have shown that leptin may serve as a molecular link between psoriasis and MS, suggesting that high leptin concentrations may exacerbate psoriasis. However, the molecular mechanism of this effect is still unclear. We aimed to investigate the effect of leptin on autophagy in patients with psoriasis. Methods: From January 2021 to June 2022 in PLA General Hospital, we enrolled 51 patients with psoriasis, including 21 patients with MS and 30 without MS, and 30 healthy controls who had undergone nevus surgery. We measured the epidermal leptin, P62, and Lc3B concentrations of patients by immunohistochemistry, and measured the serum leptin concentration by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. We then performed correlation analyses to compare these proteins' concentrations between patients with concomitant psoriasis and MS, patients with psoriasis alone, and healthy control groups. Additionally, we performed western blotting after in vitro culture of HacaT cells with different concentrations of leptin and measured the expression levels of the autophagy markers Beclin1, Lc3B, and P62; the differentiation markers K10, K16, and K17; and PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway-related proteins of Hacat cells. Next, we transfected ATG5 into HacaT cells to revert autophagy and used the specific PI3K inhibitor LY294002 to block PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling. The expression levels of K10, K16, and K17 of Hacat cells were again measured. One-way analysis of variance was used for the comparison of means of multiple samples, and LSD-t post hoc test was used for comparison between the 2 groups. Background To investigate the effects of lighting conditions and accommodation on the three-dimensional position of Visian implantable collamer lens(IcL V4c).Methods This observational study recruited 62 eyes of 31 myopia patients underwent IcL V4c *** segment optical coherence tomography(AS-OcT)assessed the anterior chamber depth(AcD),AcD-IcL(distance from the corneal endothelium to anterior surface of the IcL V4c),vault(distance between the posterior IcL V4c surface and anterior crystalline lens surface),and crystalline lens tilt under various lighting conditions and accommodation relative to the corneal topographic axis at one year after IcL V4c *** was defined as the scotopic condition,which was also the non-accommodative stimulus *** IcL V4c tilt was analyzed using *** significance level was set at Phe AcD-IcL values were similar under various lighting conditions(P=0.978)but decreased during accommodation(Phe vault was significantly smaller under mesopic and photopic conditions than the baseline(P=0.044 and Pctively)but remained unchanged during accommodation(P=0.058).The inferotemporal proportion of IcL V4c(88.7%,55 eyes)and crystalline lens(74.2%,46 eyes)tilts were not significantly different(P=0.063).crystalline lens under various lighting conditions and accommodation exhibited similar *** vertical tilt of IcL V4c was significantly larger under photopic conditions than the baseline(P=0.038).The horizontal and total tilts were significantly decreased during accommodation(P=0.043 and 0.013,respectively).conclusions The axial position of IcL V4c in the anterior chamber was stable under various lighting *** conditions and accommodation may influence vertical,horizontal and total tilts of IcL V4c.
