The co_(2)reduction into carbon-contained fuel via solar energy offers the powerful tools to realize the zero-emission carbon *** to the intriguing features of the two-dimensional(2D)heterostructures,it is susceptible to modulate the electronic structure as well as the surface geometry for optimizing the photocatalytic co_(2)*** this perspective,we surveyed the fundamental insights of 2D semiconductor heterostructures,involving the fabrication strategies and classification of the 2D semiconductor ***,we have detailly discussed the overview of 2D semiconductor heterostructure for optimizing co_(2)photocatalytic influenced factors,including the solar energy utilization,photogenerated carriers separation,and redox reaction ***,we showed the significant advantages of 2D heterostructures in elevating co_(2)photoreduction performance,focusing on activity,selectivity and *** analyzing the limitations and developments,we ended by putting forward insights into the further researches about the co_(2)photocatalysts and reactor design,even industrial applications.

Porous heterogeneous lyophobic systems(HLSs)find potential applications in energy restoring,dissipating,and ***,the development of controllable HLSs still lacks rational structure design of nanoporous materials matching the molecular sizes of adopted *** that,thoroughly understanding the underlying transportation mechanism in the confined nano channels is greatly *** this work,a series of co/Zn bimetallic zeolitic imidazolate frameworks(ZIFs)with tunable structures were synthesized via regulating the co to Zn ratios and employed to investigate the intrusion–extrusion of liquid water in confined *** characterizations confirm the heterometallic coordination in the co/Zn-doped *** intrusion–extrusion experiments unlock the relationship between the intrusion pressure and the nanopore size and realize the evolution of the HLSs between molecular spring and *** addition,cycling tests indicate the reversible structure change of co/Zn ZIFs encountering pressure-induced water *** combination with molecular dynamics simulations,we present that the water multimers intrude into nanopores of ZIFs in chain-like forms along with dissociation of hydrogen bonds(HBs).Water molecules in the pre-intrusion state exhibit reduced HBs in response to the increase of pressure and linear structure with 1.6–3.0 HBs on *** transition to the post-intrusion situation,the associative configuration of water tends to exhibit the tetrahedral ***,we highlight the roles of pore size and HB in synergically dominating the pressure-induced intrusion–extrusion of liquid water in hydrophobic ***,the present work can also guide the development of functional guest–host systems based on porous architectures.

Switching the reaction routes in peroxymonosulfate(PMS)-based advanced oxidation processes have attracted much attention but remain ***,a series of co-N/C catalysts with different compositions and structures were prepared by using bimetallic zeolitic imidazolate frameworks based on ZIF-8 and ZIF-67(x Zn/co-ZIFs).Results show that co doping amount could mediate the transformation of the activation pathway of PMS over coN/*** co doping amount was less than 10%,the constructed x co-N/C/PMS system(x≤10%)was singlet oxygen-dominated reaction;however further increasing co doping amount would lead to the generation and coexistence of sulfate radicals and high-valent cobalt,besides singlet ***,the nitrogen-coordinated co(co-NX)sites could serve as main catalytically active sites to generate singlet *** excess co doping amount caused the formation of co nanoparticles from which leached co ions were responsible for the generation of sulfate radicals and high-valent *** to undoped N/C,co doping could significantly enhance the catalytic *** 0.5%co-N/C could achieve the optimum degradation(0.488 min^(-1))and mineralization abilities(78.4%)of sulfamethoxazole among the investigated co-N/C catalysts,which was superior to most of previously reported *** addition,the application prospects of the two systems in different environmental scenarios(pH,inorganic anions and natural organic matter)were assessed and showed different degradation *** study provides a strategy to regulate the reactive species in PMS-based advanced oxidation process.

The quest for the room-temperature optical transistor based on nonlinearities in single atoms or molecules is attracting a lot of *** this work,a single-photon emitter in cubic silicon carbide is verified that can operate as an optical switch at room temperature under pulsed green laser illumination with a near-infrared pulsed laser as the control *** demonstrated an ultrafast and reversible optical modulation with a high photoluminescence intensity suppression ratio up to 97.9%and a response time as short as 287.9±5.7 *** current development provides insights for high-precision and ultrafast optical switches,with possibilities for integration with emerging electronic installations to realize more intelligent photoelectric integrated devices.

Photosynthesis is the most important biochemical reaction on Earth. It has co-evolved and developed with the Earth, driving the biogeochemical cycle of all elements on the planet and serving as the only chemical process in nature that can convert light energy into chemical energy. Some heavy oxygen isotopic(^(18)O) labeling experiments have"conclusively" demonstrated that the oxygen released by photosynthesis comes only from water and are written into textbooks. However, it is not difficult to find that bicarbonate has never been excluded from the direct substrate of photosynthesis from beginning to end during the history of photosynthesis research. No convincing mechanism can be used to explain photosynthetic oxygen evolution solely from water photolysis. The bicarbonate effect, the Dole effect, the thermodynamic convenience of bicarbonate photolysis, the crystal structure characteristics of photosystem Ⅱ, and the reinterpretation of heavy oxygen isotopic labeling(^(18)O)experiments all indicate that the photosynthetic oxygen evolution does not exclude the important role and contribution of bicarbonate photolysis. The recently proposed view that bicarbonate photolysis is the premise of water photolysis, bicarbonate photolysis and water photolysis work together with a 1:1(mol/mol) stoichiometric relationship, and the stoichiometric relationship between oxygen and carbon dioxide released during photosynthetic oxygen evolution is also 1:1, has excellent applicability and objectivity, which can logically and reasonably explain the precise coordination between light and dark reactions during photosynthesis, the bicarbonate effect, the Dole effect, the Kok cycle and the neutrality of water and carbon in *** is of great significance for constructing the bionic artificial photosynthetic reactors and scientifically answering the question of the source of elemental stoichiometric relationships in nature.

Mechanism Design for Ancillary Service Market considering Social Welfare and Fairness

Increasing penetration of distributed energy resources in the distribution network(DN)is threatening safe operation of the DN,which necessitates setup of the ancillary service market in the *** the ancillary service market,distribution system operator(DSO)is responsible for safety of the DN by procuring available capacities of *** existing studies,this paper proposes a novel market mechanism composed of two parts:choice rule and payment *** proposed choice rule simultaneously considers social welfare and fairness,encouraging risk-averse aggregators to participate in the ancillary service *** is then formulated as a linear programming problem,and a distributed solution using the multi-cut Benders decomposition is ***,successful implementation of the choice rule depends on each aggregator’s truthful adoption of private ***,a payment rule is also designed,which is proved to possess two properties:incentive compatibility and individual *** results demonstrate effectiveness of the proposed choice rule on improving fairness and verify properties of the payment rule.

P2/O3-type Ni/Mn-based layered oxides are promising cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)owing to their high energy ***,exploring effective ways to enhance the synergy between the P2 and 03 phases remains a ***,we design a P2/O3-type Na_(0.76)Ni_(0.31)Zn_(0.07)Mn_(0.50)Ti_(0.12)0_(2)(NNZMT)with high chemical/electrochemical stability by enhancing the coupling between the two *** the first time,a unique Na*extraction is observed from a Na-rich O3 phase by a Na-poor P2 phase and systematically *** process is facilitated by Zn^(2+)/Ti^(4+)dual doping and calcination condition regulation,allowing a higher Na*content in the P2 phase with larger Na^(+)transport channels and enhancing Na transport *** of reduced Na^(+)in the O3 phase,which increases the difficulty of H^(+)/Na^(+) exchange,the hydrostability of the O3 phase in NNZMT is considerably ***,Zn^(2+)/Ti^(4+)presence in NNZMT synergistically regulates oxygen redox chemistry,which effectively suppresses O_(2)/co_(2) gas release and electrolyte decomposition,and completely inhibits phase transitions above 4.0 *** a result,NNZMT achieves a high discharge capacity of 144.8 mA h g^(-1) with a median voltage of 3.42 V at 20 mA g^(-1) and exhibits excellent cycling performance with a capacity retention of 77.3% for 1000 cycles at 2000 mA g^(-1).This study provides an effective strategy and new insights into the design of high-performance layered-oxide cathode materials with enhanced structure/interface stability forSIBs.

Three polyoxometalate-based hybrid coordination materials,[co_(8)(H_(2)O)_(34)(pz)_(2){co_(4)(H_(2)O)_(2)P_(4)W_(30)O_(112)}]·16H_(2)O(compound 1),[H_(3)O]_(4)[co_(6)(H_(2)O)_(22)(pz)_(2){co_(4)(H_(2)O)_(2)P_(4)W_(30)O_(112)}]·21H_(2)(compound 2),and[H_(3)O]_(4)[co_(6)(H_(2)O)_(22){co_(4)(H_(2)O)_(2)P_(4)W_(30)O_(112)}]·29H_(2)O(compound 3)(pz-pyrazine),were built from the linkage of[co_(4)(H_(2)O)_(2)(P_(2)W_(15)O_(56)_(2)]^(16-)-(abbreviated as{co_(4)P_(4)W_(30})polyanions and pz and/or cobalt(II)*** compounds 1 and 2 consisted of the same components,their lamellar networks were quite *** inorganic lamellar network in compound 3 was constructed by connecting{co_(4)P_(4)W_(30)}units with cobalt(I)*** work demonstrates that the coordination modes of{co_(4)P_(4)W_(30)}are very sensitive to synthesis conditions,while the ring-belt tetrametals are easily substituted by different transition metal cations under mild reaction conditions.

“If I Do not Go to Work, They Will Die!” Dual Roles of Older-Adult Personal Support Workers' contributions During the coVID-19 Pandemic

When coVID-19 devastated older-adult organizations(long-term care homes and retirement homes), most public attention was directed toward the older-adult residents rather than their service providers. This was especially true in the case of personal support workers, some of whom are over the age of 55, putting them in two separate categories in the coVID-19 settings:(1) a vulnerable and marginalized group who are disproportionately impacted by coVID-19;and(2) essential healthcare workers. Since the current disaster-driven research, practice, and policy have primarily focused on generalized assumptions that older-adults are a vulnerable, passive, and dependent group rather than recognizing their diversity, expertise, assets, and experiences, this study aimed to identify their contributions from the perspective of older-adult personal support worker(OAPSW). This qualitative study conducted in-depth interviews, inviting 15 OAPSWs from the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. This study uncovered the OAPSWs' contribution at three levels: individual(enhancing physical health, mental health, and overall well-being), work(improving working environment and service and supporting co-workers), and family(protecting their nuclear and extended families). The outcomes inform the older-adult research, practice, policy, public discourse, and education by enhancing the appreciation of older-adults' diverse strengths and promoting their engagement and contributions in disaster settings.
