Halide perovskites have been extensively studied for use as light-emitting diodes(LEDs)in next-generation displays due to their beneficial characteristics,including their high color purity and wide color gamut.Halide perovskites can be categorized into four representative structures:three-dimensional(3D)bulk,two-dimensional(2D),quasi-two-dimensional(quasi-2D),and quantum dot(QD).Recently,excellent advances in the performance of perovskite LEDs(PeLEDs),especially those with quasi-2D and QD architectures,have been demonstrated with the incorporation of organic chain ligands.Ligands can both modify the structure of PeLEDs,such as forming multi-quantum wells in quasi-2D PeLEDs and essential passivation layers in QD PeLEDs,and also enhance their optical performance.The appropriate use of ligands in PeLEDs can thus lead to greater luminescence,current efficiency,power efficiency,and external quantum efficiency.In this review,the principal roles of ligands in quasi-2D and QD PeLEDs are systematically summarized.Furthermore,current limitations and future perspectives are discussed in detail.

Comparison of linac-based fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy and tomotherapy treatment plans for intra-cranial tumors

This study compares and analyzes stereotactic radiotherapy using tomotherapy and linac-based fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy in the treatment of intra-cranial tumors,according to some cases.In this study,linac-based fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy and tomotherapy treatment were administered to five patients diagnosed with intra-cranial cancer in which the dose of 18–20 Gy was applied on 3–5 separate occasions.The tumor dosing was decided by evaluating the inhomogeneous index （II） and conformity index （CI）.Also,the radiation-sensitive tissue was evaluated using low dose factors V1,V2,V3,V4,V5,and V10,as well as the non-irradiation ratio volume （NIV）.The values of the II for each prescription dose in the linacbased non-coplanar radiotherapy plan and tomotherapy treatment plan were （0.125±0.113） and （0.090±0.180）,respectively,and the values of the CI were （0.899±0.149） and （0.917±0.114）,respectively.The low dose areas,V1,V2,V3,V4,V5,and V10,in radiation-sensitive tissues in the linac-based non-coplanar radiotherapy plan fell into the ranges 0.3%–95.6%,0.1%–87.6%,0.1%–78.8%,38.8%–69.9%,26.6%–65.2%,and 4.2%–39.7%,respectively,and the tomotherapy treatment plan had ranges of 13.6%–100%,3.5%–100%,0.4%–94.9%,0.2%– 82.2%,0.1%–78.5%,and 0.3%–46.3%,respectively.Regarding the NIV for each organ,it is possible to obtain similar values except for the irradiation area of the brain stem.The percentages of NIV10%,NIV20%,and NIV30%for the brain stem in each patient were 15%–99.8%,33.4%–100%,and 39.8%–100%,respectively,in the fractionated stereotactic treatment plan and 44.2%–96.5%,77.7%–99.8%,and 87.8%–100%,respectively,in the tomotherapy treatment plan.In order to achieve higher-quality treatment of intra-cranial tumors,treatment plans should be tailored according to the isodose target volume,inhomogeneous index,conformity index,position of the tumor upon fractionated stereotactic radiosurgery,and radiation dosage for radiation-sensitive tissues.

Bimetallic Fe/Ni-based metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)with different Fe/Ni ratios were coated on TiO_(2)nanorods(NRs),and the performances of the heterojunction photoanodes in photoelectrochemical water splitting were investigated.The bandgaps and band positions of the MOFs could be modulated by changing the ratio of the Fe and Ni components.An ideal band alignment was achieved between the TiO_(2)NRs and bimetallic MOFs with an optimum ratio of[Fe]/[Ni]=0.25/0.75,which allowed efficient light absorption and charge separation.The coating of NH_(2)-MIL(Fe)-88 layer on the TiO_(2)NRs decreased the photocurrent density by 33%.In comparison,TiO_(2)/NH_(2)-MIL(Ni)-88 showed a modest improvement in photocurrent density(0.85 mA·cm^(−2)at 1.23 V vs.a reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE)).When bimetallic NH_(2)-MIL(Fe_(0.25)Ni_(0.75))-88 was coated on the TiO_(2)NRs,the photocurrent density reached 1.56 mA·cm^(−2),which was an efficiency enhancement of 3.2 times.The mechanism underlying high photoelectrochemical performance was investigated.

significantly vary among regions.Modern standard treatments commonly require multidisciplinary approaches,including applications of up-to date medicine and advanced procedures,and necessitate the support of socioeconomic systems.For these reasons,a number of clinical guidelines for HCC from different associations and regions have been presented.External beam radiation therapy was contraindicated for HCC until a few decades ago,but with the development of new technologies,its application has rapidly increased as selective irradiation for tumorous lesions became possible.Most of the guidelines had been opposed or indifferent to radiotherapy in the past,but several guidelines have introduced indications and recommendations for radiotherapy in their updated versions.This review will discuss the characteristics of important guidelines and their contents regarding radiotherapy and will also provide guidance to physicians who are considering applications of locoregional modalities that include radiotherapy.

To determine mirror surface finishing conditions and efficient and economical superfinishing conditions for pure titanium and titanium alloys,an abrasive film is used when superfinishing is performed under varying conditions.These conditions include the workpiece rotation speed,the oscillation speed,the contact pressure of the roller,the hardness of the roller,and the type of abrasive film.The superfinishing device is applied to polishing a thin and long cylindrical bar.A micro-finishing film and a lapping film were used as abrasive films.Al2O3 grains or SiC grains were used as abrasives.The surface roughness of a polished workpiece was measured using a stylus-type surface-roughness measuring instrument.As a result,the conditions to improve the polishing surface efficiently include high values for the workpiece rotation speed,oscillation speed and contact pressure.The roller hardness has no effect on the efficient polishing conditions.The mirror finish of a surface can be created using lapping film of 3 μm with Al2O3 grains after polishing to a steady surface roughness under the efficient polishing conditions.

The flow fields of hot air in the dryer for drying colored potatoes of which characteristics are highly sensitive to the temperature were simulated using computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulation.The local air velocity decreased as the distance from the flow inlet increased.The mass and heat transfer coefficients increased from 0.666×10^(-2) m/s to 1.711×10^(-2) m/s,and 6.555 W/(m^(2)·K)to 16.834 W/(m^(2)·K),respectively,as the air velocity increased from 0.207 m/s to 1.567 m/s at 60°C.The drying simulation model using the heat and mass transfer model made accurate predictions.The thermal properties of colored potato,such as the thermal conductivity and specific heat,decreased significantly from 0.440 W/(m·K)to 0.034 W/(m·K)and 3906.45 J/(kg·K)to 2198.52 J/(kg·K),respectively,as the moisture content decreased from 78% to 5%.With the variable thermal and physical properties,the heat transfer simulation model made accurate predictions of the hot-air drying characteristics for the colored potatoes,and the RMSE values for all cases were(1.85±0.27)℃.

Background:Follistatin-like 1(FSTL1)plays both pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory roles in the inflammatory processes.We investigated whether serum FSTL1 could predict the current anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis(AAV)-specific indices.Methods:We randomly selected 74 patients with AAV from a prospective and observational cohort of Korean patients with AAV.Clinical and laboratory data and AAV-specific indices were recorded.FSTL1 concentration was determined using the stored sera.The lowest tertile of the short-form 36-item health survey(SF-36)was defined as the current low SF-36.The cutoffs of serum FSTL1 for the current low SF-36 physical component summary(PCS)and SF-36 mental component summary(MCS)were extrapolated by the receiver operator characteristic curve.Results:The median age was 62.5 years(55.4%were women).Serum FSTL1 was significantly correlated with SF-36 PCS(r=-0.374),SF-36 MCS(r=-0.377),and C-reactive protein(CRP)(r=0.307),but not with Birmingham vasculitis activity score(BVAS).In the multivariable linear regression analyses,BVAS,CRP,and serum FSTL1 were independently associated with the current SF-36 PCS(β=-0.255,β=-0.430,andβ=-0.266,respectively)and the current SF-36 MCS(β=-0.234,β=-0.229,andβ=-0.296,respectively).Patients with serum FSTL1≥779.8 pg/mL and those with serum FSTL1≥841.6 pg/mL exhibited a significantly higher risk of having the current low SF-36 PCS and SF-36 MCS than those without(relative risk 7.583 and 6.200,respectively).Conclusion:Serum FSTL1 could predict the current functional status in AAV patients.

In this perspective article,the synthesis and thermodynamic properties of aqueous solutions of formate salts(FS,HCO2-)are described in relationship to the concept of H2carriers.The physiochemical properties of solid FS,aqueous formate solutions,and aqueous bicarbonate solutions set the limitations for storage capacity,deliverable capacity,and usable H2capacity of these H2carriers,respectively.These parameters will help in the design of systems that use H2carriers for storage and transport of H2for fuel cell power applications.FS,as well as admixtures with formic acid(FA,H2CO2),have potential to address the goals outlined in the U.S.Department of Energy’s H2@scale initiative to store in chemical bonds a significant quantity of energy(hundreds of megawatts)obtained from large scale renewable resources.

Crack simulation and probability analysis using irregular truss structure modeling equivalent to a continuum structure

The problems related to agricultural structure engineering for crack simulation and reliability analysis are complicated because its variables contain wide ranges of mean and standard deviation.This paper describes an integrated model to perform crack simulation and reliability analysis of a continuum structure.The structure is assumed to be under a two-dimensional plane stress and the deformation is infinitesimal.A truss structure model that has the same behaviour as a continuum structure was developed using irregular triangle truss components where each element consists of two hinges with an axial degree of freedom at both of their ends.A Monte-Carlo simulation(MCS)was adopted for the reliability analysis.If the length of one side of the irregular triangle mesh is shorter than the thickness of the structure,the slenderness associated with compressive failure needs to be examined only for the short column.For that reason,the failure criterion suitable for the equivalent truss structure model was established by checking only axial stresses acting on truss members.Since nodes of the equivalent truss structure model for the structural analysis in this study consist of hinges,development of plastic hinges that occurred during crack propagation were not considered in this model.To simulate the development of crack,truss members over allowable stresses of tension or compression among truss members with the largest amount of stress at each completed structural analysis time step were sequentially removed.Since irregular triangle meshes have an uncertainty in themselves to compare with regular meshes,the equivalent truss structure model could describe crack propagation more realistically.The failure probabilities of structures under various loads and boundary conditions had good agreement with the analytical solutions directly solved from the limit state equations expressed in the form of moments.

Direct steam injection(DSI)was applied to minimize the quality changes of white radish(Raphanus sativus)broth during sterilization.This study compared the degree of browning of white radish broth from a retort sterilization system and a DSI system.The quality changes after thermal treatments,such as retorting and DSI,were evaluated by Lab color values,the browning index(BI)and sensory evaluation.As the volume of the retort pouch increased,the thermal processing time increased.Significant increases of a and b values,color difference and BI were observed.Unlike the retort sterilization,the DSI treatment showed no significant differences in color properties of the radish broth with a wide range of sterilization temperature.The highest sensory score among the DSI treated samples was observed at the lowest sterilization temperature(125℃).The results demonstrated that the DSI treatment showed a higher stability in the quality associated with the browning reaction,such as the color indices and BI because the DSI process rapidly increased the temperature of the radish broth by transferring the latent heat of steam to the fluid.
