Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries have attracted considerable attention as next-generation energy storage devices owing to their high theoretical specific capacity and ***,the commercialization of Li-S batteries is hindered by critical issues,including the migration of the dissolved lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)from the sulfur electrode to the lithium metal anode,resulting in poor cycling ***,we report a multifunctional interlayer configured with an N-doped carbon framework and titanium nitride nanowires on a polypropylene separator(NC/TiN NWs@PP)to suppress the polysulfide shuttling ***/TiN NWs@PP can be obtained by electrospinning and the subsequent scalable solution-based vacuum *** one-dimensional structure of the TiN NWs can shorten the Li-ion diffusion distance with large electrode/electrolyte ***,the N-doped carbon framework in the NWs enables facile electron transportation and allows the suppression of the shuttle effect to improve the electrochemical reaction *** Li-S battery with a NC/TiN NWs@PP separator exhibited enhanced cycling stability and rate capability,indicating that this could be a new research direction for Li-S batteries.

The lithium-ion batteries are recognized as the most promising energy storage system,but it still does not meet the power requirements of electric vehicle batteries owing to low volumetric energy density with the traditional graphite electrode *** this study,we report the development of a novel electrode system fabricated by implantation of a solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)layer on the graphite *** SEI-implanted graphite electrode is made using a lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide(LiTFSI)-based electrolyte and cycled with a lithium tetrafluoroborate LiBF4-based *** new electrode system shows significantly enhanced electrochemical properties owing to the rapid and efficient diffusion of Li ions through the SEI layer between the electrolyte and *** graphite electrode with its pre-formed SEI layer achieves a reversible capacity of 357 mAh g^-1 at 0.5 C after 50 cycles,which is significantly higher than that of commercial lithium-ion battery systems constructed with LiPF6(312mAh g^-1).The resulting unique electrode system could present a new avenue in SEI research for highperformance lithium-ion batteries.

The extreme volume expansion of the silicon(Si) anodes during repeated cycles seriously induces undesirable interfacial side reactions,forming an unstable solid electrolyte interphase(SEI) that degrades the electrode integrity and cycle stability in lithium-ion batteries,limiting their practical *** considerable efforts to stabilize the SEI through surface modification,challenges persist in the development of high-performance Si anodes that effectively regulate intrinsic SEI properties and simultaneously facilitate electron/ion ***,a highly conductive and organic electrolyte-compatible lamellar p-toluenesulfonic acid-doped polyaniline(pTAP) layer is proposed for constructing a robust artificial SEI on Si nanoparticles to achieve fast charging,lo ng-term cycle lifespan and high areal *** spatially uniform pTAP layer,formed through a facile direct-encapsulation approach assisted by enriched hydrogen bonding,contributes to the effective formation of in situ SEI with an even distribution of the LiF-rich phase in its interlamination ***,the integrated artificial SEI facilitates isotropic ion/electron transport,increased robustness,and effectively dissipates stress from volume ***,a notably high rate performance of 570 mA h g^(-1),even at a substantially high current density of 10 A g^(-1),is achieved with excellent cyclic stability by showing a superior capacity over 1430 mA h g^(-1) at 1 A g^(-1) after 250 cycles and a high areal capacity of ca.2 mA h cm^(-2) at 0.5 C in a full cell *** study demonstrates that the rational design of conductive polymers with SEI modulation for surface protection has great potential for use in high-energy-density Si anodes.

The concept of“green-ammonia-zero-carbon emission”is an emerging research topic in the global community and many countries driving toward decarbonizing a diversity of applications dependent on fossil *** light of this,electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction(ENRR)received great attention at ambient *** low efficiency(%)and ammonia(NH_(3))production rates are two major challenges in making a sustainable ***,hydrogen evolution reaction is another crucial factor for realizing this NH_(3)synthesis to meet the large-scale commercial ***,the(i)importance of NH_(3)as an energy carrier for the next future,(ii)discussion with ENRR theory and the fundamental mechanism,(iii)device configuration and types of electrolytic systems for NH_(3)synthesis including key metrics,(iv)then moving into rising electrocatalysts for ENRR such as single-atom catalysts(SACs),MXenes,and metal–organic frameworks that were scientifically summarized,and(v)finally,the current technical contests and future perceptions are ***,this review aims to give insightful direction and a fresh motivation toward ENRR and the development of advanced electrocatalysts in terms of cost,efficiency,and technologically large scale for the synthesis of green NH_(3).

AIM： To examine the effect of DA-9601, a new gastroprotective agent, on the vulnerability of ethanoltreated rat＇s stomach to naproxen （NAP）. METHODS： Male Sprague-Dawley rats were pretreated with 1 mL of 50% ethanol twice a day for 5 d and then NAP （50 mg/kg） was administered. DA-9601 was admin- istered 1 h before NAP. Four hours after NAP, the rats were killed to examine gross injury index （mm2）, histologic change and to determine mucosal levels of malondialdehyde （MDA）, prostaglandin E2 （PGE2）, glutathione （GSH） and myeloperoxidase （MPO）. RESULTS： Pretreatment of ethanol significantly increased NAP-induced gastric lesions, as well as an increase in NDA and MPO. On the contrary, mucosal PGE2 and GSH contents were decreased dramatically by ethanol pretreatment, which were aggravated by NAR DA-9601 significantly reduced NAP-induced gastric injury grossly and microscopically, regardless of pretreatment with ethanol. DA-9601 preserved, or rather, increased mucosal PGE2 and GSH in NAP-treated rats （P〈0.05）, with reduction in mucosal MDA and MPO levels. CONCLUSION： These results suggest that repeated alcohol consumption renders gastric mucosa more susceptible to NSAIDs though, at least in part, reduction of endogenous cytoprotectants including PGE2 and GSH, and increase in MPO activation, and that DA-9601, a new gastroprotectant, can reduce the increased vulnerability of ethanol consumers to NSAIDs-induced gastric damage via the mechanism in which PGE2 and GSH are involved.

Aqueous Zn-ion batteries （AZIBs） have received considerable attention owing to their various advantages such as safety,low cost,simple battery assembly conditions,and high ionic ***,they still suffer from serious problems,including uncontrollable dendrite growth,corrosion,hydrogen evolution reaction （HER） from water decomposition,electrode passivation,and unexpected *** creation of a uniform artificial nanocrystal layer on the Zn anode surface is a promising strategy for resolving these ***,we propose the use of a perovskite CaTiO3（CTO） protective layer on Zn（CTO@Zn） as a promising approach for improving the performance of *** CTO artificial layer provides an efficient pathway for Zn ion diffusion towards the Zn metal because of the high dielectric constant （εr=180） and ferroelectric characteristics that enable the alignment of dipole moments and redistribute the Zn2+ions in the CTO *** avoiding the direct contact of the Zn anode with the electrolyte solution,the uneven dendrite growth,corrosion,parasitic side reactions,and HER are mitigated,while CTO retains its mechanical and chemical robustness during ***,CTO@Zn demonstrates an improved lifespan in a symmetric cell configuration compared with bare ***@Zn shows steady overpotential （～68 m V） for 1500 h at 1 mA cm-2/0.5 mA h cm-2,excelling bare ***,when paired with the V2O5-C cathode,the CTO@Zn//V2O5-C full battery delivers 148.4 mA h g-1（based on the mass of the cathode） after 300 *** study provides new insights into Zn metal anodes and the development of high-performance AZIBs.

Recently, a semi-solid metal processing has been acknowledged as a cost-effective technique to be able to manufacture high quality product for the transportation industry. In this study a hypo-eutectic Al alloy was fabricated by means of an electromagnetic stirrer in continuous casting process and the microstructural change during solidification due to a fluid flow by electromagnetic stirring was examined. Due to the forced fluid flow during solidification a dendritic phase of primary α phase of Al alloy was turned into a globular phase, which can make the Al alloy get a thixotropic behavior in the semi-solid region. In order to establish the quantitative relationship between microstructure and the process parameters, the morphology shape, a silicon distribution and a size of primary α phase were observed according to casting speed in continuous casting machine. The primary α phase was turned into the degenerate dendrites approaching a spherical configuration with increasing casting speed. The fine-grained and equiaxed microstructure appeared at higher casting speed. A segregation behavior of Si element was declined with increasing casting speed and a very uniform distribution of Si element was observed on the billet at a casting speed of 600 mm·min-1. A thickness of the solidifying shell of the billet was shortened with increasing the casting speed.

The removal of As（III） and As（V） from aqueous solution was investigated using waste cast iron, which is a byproduct of the iron casting process in foundries. Two types of waste cast iron were used in the experiment： grind precipitate dust （GPD） and cast iron shot （CIS）. The X-ray diffraction analysis indicated the presence of Fe~ on GPD and CIS. Batch experiments were performed under different concentrations of As（III） and As（V） and at various initial pH levels. Results showed that waste cast iron was effective in the removal of arsenic. The adsorption isotherm study indicated that the Langmuir isotherm was better than the Freundlich isotherm at describing the experimental result. In the adsorption of both As（III） and As（V）, the adsorption capacity of GPD was greater than CIS, mainly due to the fact that GPD had higher surface area and weight percent of Fe than CIS. Results also indicated the removal of As（III） and As（V） by GPD and CIS was influenced by the initial solution pH, generally decreasing with increasing pH from 3.0 to 10.5. In addition, both GPD and CIS were more effective at the removal of As（III） than As（V） under given experimental conditions. This study demonstrates that waste cast iron has potential as a reactive material to treat wastewater and groundwater containing arsenic.

Generalist avian brood parasites vary considerably in their degree of host specialization(e.g.,number of hosts);some parasitize the nests of just a few host species,whereas others exploit more than 100 *** factors,including habitat range,habitat type,and geographic location,have been suggested to account for these ***,inter-specific differences in individual attributes,such as personality and plasticity,have rarely been considered as potential factors of such variation,despite their potential relationship to,for example,range *** cage experiments,we tested the hypothesis that parasitic species exploiting more host species may be more active and *** this end,we quantified behaviors exhibited by two Cuculus cuckoos(Common Cuckoo *** and Oriental Cuckoo ***)that vary greatly in their number of host ***,we evaluated exploratory behavior displayed by birds in the cage,such as the number of movements,head-turning,wing-flapping,and *** Common Cuckoo,which has a higher number of host species,tended to exhibit higher levels of exploratory behaviors than the Oriental *** study showed that the two cuckoo species exhibited different exploratory levels,as predicted by the differences in their number of *** studies regarding the causality between individual attributes and host specialization with improved experimental methodology would greatly enhance our understanding of the role of individual characteristics in the coevolution of avian brood parasites and their hosts.

BACKGROUND Venous adventitial cystic disease(VACD)is a rare disease characterized by cysts,filled with a gelatinous mucous substance similar to joint fluid,in the adventitia of blood vessels adjacent to the *** is often misdiagnosed as deep vein thrombosis(DVT),femoral varices,venous tumors,or *** SUMMARY A 69-year-old woman visited our hospital with a complaint of swelling in the right lower *** patient was diagnosed with DVT and prescribed apixaban at an outpatient *** 3 wk,the patient was hospitalized again because of sudden swelling in the right lower *** diagnosed VACD and performed surgery for cyst removal as well as patch angioplasty and thrombectomy of the right common femoral *** patient received anticoagulants for 6 mo and has been doing well without recurrence for 1 year *** Recurrent VACD requires complete removal of the connections to the joint cavity to prevent recurrence.
