A finite element model is developed for the simulation of vibration stress relief （VSR） after welding. For the nonresonant vibration, the reduction in stress strongly depends on the amplitude of vibration. For the resonant vibration, the vibration frequency is the key for stress relief. The vibration frequency should be close to the structure natural frequency for the desired vibration mode. Only small vibration amplitude is required, which will be amplified during vibration. Vibration time does not have a major impact on vibration stress relief. when the amplitude of vibration stress relief is large, the treatment will be more effective.

Three predominant paradigms describe the organizational structure of most organizations;rational, natural and open. This paper examines each of these paradigms, exploring their main characteristics and most recognized forms of application. The review further provides an overview of how these systems compare and contrast to each other, with examples of organizations that utilize these different organizational systems. In this ever increasingly complex world of crisis response, it is reasonable to expect that complex organizations will need to be created. The paper seeks to provide an insight into the complexity of identifying one system as being the singular answer to what can be defined as the best organization to respond to crisis events.

The current investigation aims to explore the combined effects of heat and mass transfer on free convection of Sodium alginate-Fe_(3)O_(4) based Brinkmann type nanofluid flow over a vertical rotating *** Tiwari and Das nanofluid model is employed to examine the effects of dimensionless numbers,including Grashof,Eckert,and Schmidt numbers and governing parameters like solid volume fraction of nanoparticles,Hall current,magnetic field,viscous dissipation,and the chemical reaction on the physical *** dimensionless nonlinear partial differential equations are solved using a finite difference method known as Runge-Kutta Fehlberg(RKF-45)*** variation of dimensionless velocity,temperature,concentration,skin friction,heat,and mass transfer rate,as well as for entropy generation and Bejan number with governing parameters,are presented graphically and are provided in tabular *** results reveal that the Nusselt number increases with an increase in the solid volume fraction of ***,the rate of entropy generation and Bejan number depends upon the magnetic field and the Eckert number.

Motivated by the fact that calibrated light curves of Type Ia supernovae （SNe Ia） have become a major tool to determine the expansion history of the Universe, considerable attention has been given to, both, observations and models of these events over the past 15 years. Here, we summarize new observational constraints, address recent progress in modeling Type Ia supernovae by means of three-dimensional hydrodynamic simulations, and discuss several of the still open questions. It will be be shown that the new models have considerable predictive power which allows us to study observable properties such as light curves and spectra without adjustable non-physical parameters. This is a necessary requisite to improve our understanding of the explosion mechanism and to settle the question of the applicability of SNe Ia as distance indicators for cosmology. we explore the capabilities of the models by comparing them be applied to study the origin of the diversity with observations and we show how such models can of SNe Ia.

The rapid development of crops with multiple transgenic traits arouses the need for an efficient system for creating stacked cultivars. Most major crops rely on classical breeding to introgress the transgene from a laboratory variety to the numerous cultivars adapted to different growing regions. Even with vegetative propagated crops, genetic crosses are conducted during varietal improvement prior to vegetative cloning. The probability to assort the ＇x＇ number of transgenic loci into a single genome may seem trivial, （~）x for a diploid species, but given the ＇y＇ number of other nontransgenic traits that breeders also need to assemble into the same genome, the （~）~＊y probability for a ＇breeding stack＇ could quickly make the line conversion process unmanageable. Adding new transgenes onto existing transgenic varieties without creating a new segregating locus would require site-specific integration of new DNA at the existing transgenic locus. Here, we tested a recombinase-mediated gene-stacking scheme in tobacco. Sequential site-specific inte- gration was mediated by the mycobacteriophage Bxbl integrase-catalyzed recombination between attP and attB sites. Transgenic DNA no longer needed after integration was excised by Cre recombinase-mediated recombination of Iox sites. Site-specific integration occurred in -10% of the integration events, with half of those events usable as substrates for a next round of gene stacking. Among the site-specific integrants, however, a third experienced gene silencing. Overall, precise structure and reproducible expression of the sequentially added triple traits were obtained at an overall rate of -3% of the transformed clones--a workable frequency for the development of commercial cultivars. Moreover, since nei- ther the Bxbl-att nor the Cre-lox system is under patent, there is freedom to operate,

Extensive site investigations were conducted prior to the construction of a Mass Rapid Transit project in Singapore that was predominantly in the Bukit Timah Granite(BTG)formation residual *** paper evaluates the engineering properties of the BTG formation residual soil based on data from 208 site investigation boreholes from four different *** on the results from 2481 conventional laboratory tests and 1192 in-situ tests,this paper summarizes the engineering properties of the highly variable BTG residual soil,including conventional composition analysis,index and hydraulic properties,and strength and deformation parameters required for geotechnical analysis and *** on these results,the BTG formation is found to be quite *** the degree of weathering decreases with depth from the top of the formation,the BTG residual soil becomes sandier,with reduced silt and clay *** coefficient of permeability and the compression index of the BTG residual soil vary *** addition,the empirical equations relating the shear strength(index)to the standard penetration test(SPT)-N,as well as the equations and charts for determining stiffness,are *** findings,together with the proposed equations or charts,can be used for design guidance of similar projects related to granitic residual soils in Singapore.

A novel TiO2-ZnFe2O4 coating is prepared by plasma spraying. The effects of spra ying parameters and the composition of powders on the microstructure, surface mo rphology and photo-absorption of plasma sprayed coatings are studied. The photoc atalytic efficiency of the as-sprayed coatings is evaluated through the photo mi neralization of methylene blue. It was found that TiO2 coatings can decompose me thylene blue under the illumination of ultraviolet rays, and the degrading effic iency is improved with an increase in the content of FeTiO3 in the coatings. How ever, the presence of large amount of ZnFe2O4 compound will substantially lower the photocatalytic efficiency of the TiO2-ZnFe2O4 coatings for the unfavorable p hoto-excited electron-hole transfer process.
