Application of grouped detrital zircon analyses to determine provenance and closely approximate true depositional age:Early cretaceous McMurray-clearwater succession,canada

In the Lower cretaceousMcMurray-clearwater succession of the intracontinental Alberta Foreland Basin,canada,detrital zircon U-Pb geochronology samples(referred to herein as DZ samples)have been used to interpret the strata as representing a paleo-continental-scale drainage ***,the majority of DZ samples are relatively small(n≈90–100),and syndepositional DZ(i.e.,crystallization ageced a reliance on dinocysts with long stratigraphic ranges to chronostratigraphically subdivide the McMurray-clearwater succession rather than employing maximum depositional ages(MDAs)derived from DZ ***,43 DZ samples(taken from20 subsurface cores)are assigned to 1 of 5 stratigraphic intervals,and in each stratigraphic interval all associated DZ samples are combined to produce a grouped DZ *** and comparison of individual and grouped DZ samples are used to(1)assess variability in provenance through time and space,and(2)assess the accuracy of chronostratigraphically subdividing the succession using *** the main paleo-drainage axis,a comparison of dissimilarity between DZ samples from the same stratigraphic interval,as well as between stratigraphic intervals,reveals increasing average dissimilarity between individual DZ samples and their respective grouped DZ samplewith increasing spatial separation of *** data indicate that in the McMurray Depocenter some sediment is sourced from local tributaries,leading to geographical provenance *** for all 43 DZ samples and groupedMDAs(gMDAs)for the 5 grouped DZ samples are compared to an ash-derived absolute age and existing *** theMcMurray Formation,comparison of MDAs to gMDAs shows that in basins with rare syndepositional DZ,the gMDA method improved depositional age estimates by transforming low-confidence MDAs(e.g.,youngest single grains)into high-confidence(multi-grain)*** the clearwater Formationwhere

Background: Although emerging research is demonstrating the potential health impact of exergaming,investigations have primarily been conducted in laboratory settings among small samples with short-term *** on the effectiveness of exergaming in underserved children's objective physical activity(PA) in population-based settings is also ***,most empirical studies have only included 1 type of exergame in the ***,this study's purpose was to investigate the long-term impact of a multigame exergaming intervention among underserved children integrated within school ***,this study examined the effect of exergaming on children's accelerometer-determined sedentary behavior(SB),light PA,moderate-to-vigorous PA(MVPA),and energy expenditure(EE) over 2 years as compared with regular physical education(PE) ***: A total of 261 second-and third-grade children(134 girls,127 boys; mean age 8.27 years) were recruited from 2 Texas elementary ***'s pre-test 3-day SB,light PA,MVPA,and EE at school were assessed in the fall of *** were assigned to 1 of 2groups:(1) exergaming/PE group(125 min weekly of exergaming-based PA program) and (2) comparison group(125 min weekly of PE).PA(SB,light PA,and MVPA) and EE outcome variables were assessed again in 2013(post-test) and 2014(follow-up).Results: Significant time effects were observed for SB(F(1,162)=25.0,p0.05,η~2= 0.004).Subsequent pairwise comparisons revealed significant increases from pre-to post-test for light PA(pchanges in SB(p>0.05).conversely,significant decreases occurred in light PA(pces seen in MVPA(p=0.08) and EE(p=0.06) over the same time period.A significant increase was seen,however,for SB from post-te

Synergistically enhanced ORR and HER performance on co-N-c coupled in-situ generated Ptco intermetallic

Integrating multi-scale sites in a composite catalyst is vital to realize efficient ***,a synergistic composite catalyst consisting of co atomic sites and in-situ generated Ptco intermetallic compounds （IMcs）(o-Ptco@coNc) is proposed through co pre-anchoring and subsequent impregnation-reduction *** loading of co atoms provides a chance for in-situ generating Ptco ordered intermetallic *** remaining co single atoms and Ptco IMcs construct synergistic electrocatalytic *** from the ordered structure,synergistic effect of Pt co IMcs and co single atoms,o-Ptco@coNc exhibits excellent electrocatalytic performance for oxygen reduction reaction （ORR） and hydrogen evolution reaction （HER） with mass activity of 1.21 A mgPt-1（at 0.9 V） and5.70 A mgPt-1（at an overpotential of 100 mV）,***,o-Ptco@coNc delivers negligible loss of half-wave potential and overpotential during long-term stability test in acid solutions,with 13 mV decay after 50,000 potential cycles for ORR and a 2.7 mV decay after 20,000 potential cycles for *** integration strategy of single-atomic sites coupled IMcs paves the way for enhancing the activity and durability of Pt-based electrocatalysts.

Synergistic promotion strategy of “dual-site” and “dual-path” to enhance the c–c coupling between cO2 and HcHO driven by photoelectrocatalysis

Photoelectrocatalytic coupling cO2and volatile organic compounds （VOcs） is a promising green strategy for the synergistic conversion of the two carbon-containing resources to *** catalytic efficiency is always at the mercy of chemical inertness of cO2and the competitive hydrogen evolution of ***,a modified g-c3N4/ZnAl-LDH Z-scheme heterojunction catalyst with dual reaction site was rationally designed and precisely *** Faraday efficiency of ethanol reached 68.67%with a corresponding formation rate of 227.3μmol *** revealed by in-situ characterizations and density functional theory calculations,cO2and HcHO were absorbed at Zn site and N site,***,*cO generated from cO2and HcHO was converted to*cH3O and*cHO on the dual-active-site *** detailed reaction mechanism experiments indicated that c–c coupling only occurred between*cO and*cH3O in electrocatalysis *** from the“*cO+*cH3O”path,another“*cO+*cHO”coupling path was also detected in photoelectrocatalytic *** selectivity of ethanol was significantly enhanced due to the synthesis of dual-site catalyst and the dual-path coupling path between cO2and HcHO simultaneously driven by light and electricity.

Surface micro-arrays enhancing electromagnetic interference shielding of polydimethylsiloxane/multiwalled carbon nanotubes nanocomposites

Herein,the electromagnetic shielding performance of surface concave-convex(Sc)and zig-zag micro-arrays was studied by using a simulation prediction and a three-dimensional(3D)printing custom ***,surface stripe concaveconvex(SSc)and surface cylindrical concave-convex(Scc)micro-arrays with or without zig-zag micro-arrays are designed,and their shielding performance is simulated in multi-bands(c-,X-band).The multiwalled carbon nanotubes/polydimethylsiloxane composites(MWcNT/PDMS)with different Sc structures and different electrical conductivity are molded in acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer(ABS)molds which are printed by a 3D *** results show that the electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness(EMI SE)of the samples can be enhanced by constructing the Sc micro-arrays with zig-zag micro-arrays,and improving with the increase of conductivity and *** addition,the shielding mechanism of the Sc-MWcNT/PDMS composites is investigated and discussed by an electromagnetic simulation.

A low redox potential and long life organic anode material for sodium-ion batteries

Sodium-ion batteries （SIBs） with organic electrodes are an emerging research direction due to the sustainability of organic materials based on elements like c,H,O,and sodium ***,organic electrode materials for SIBs are mainly used as cathodes because of their relatively high redox potentials（>1 V）.Organic electrodes with low redox potential that can be used as anode are ***,a novel organic anode material （tetrasodium 1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetracarboxylate,Na4TDc） has been developed with low redox potential （cellent cyclic *** three-sodium storage mechanism was demonstrated with various in-situ/ex-situ spectroscopy and theoretical calculations,showing a high capacity of 208 mAh/g and an average decay rate of merely 0.022%per ***,the Na4TDc-hard carbon composite can further acquire improved capacity and cycling stability for 1200 cycles even with a high mass loading of up to 20 mg *** pairing with a thick Na3V2（PO4）3cathode (20.6 mg cm-2),the as-fabricated full cell exhibited high operating voltage （2.8 V）,excellent rate performance and cycling stability with a high capacity retention of 88.7% after 200 cycles,well highlighting the Na4TDc anode material for SIBs.

Association of stent thrombectomy and conventional treatment with neuroprotection, complications, anxiety, and depression in acute ischemic stroke patients

Loss of Mgat5a-mediated N-glycosylation stimulates regeneration in zebrafish

Background:We are using genetics to identify genes specifically involved in hearing *** a large-scale genetic screening,we identified mgat5a,a gene in the N-glycosylation biosynthesis pathway whose activity negatively impacts hair cell ***:We used a combination of mutant analysis in zebrafish and a hair cell regeneration assay to phenotype the loss of Mgat5a activity in *** used pharmacological inhibition of N-glycosylation by *** also used over-expression analysis by mRNA injections to demonstrate how changes in N-glycosylation can alter cell ***:We found that mgat5a was expressed in multiple tissues during zebrafish embryo development,particularly enriched in neural tissues including the brain,retina,and lateral line *** mgat5a insertional mutation and a cRISPR/cas9-generated truncation mutation both caused an enhancement of hair cell regeneration which could be phenocopied by pharmacological inhibition with *** addition to hair cell regeneration,inhibition of the N-glycosylation pathway also enhanced the regeneration of lateral line axon and caudal *** analysis showed that N-glycosylation altered the responsiveness of TGF-beta ***:The findings from this study provide experimental evidence for the involvement of N-glycosylation in tissue regeneration and cell signaling.
