Energy storage systems(ESS)and permanent magnet synchronous generators(PMSG)are speculated to be able to exhibit frequency regulation capabilities by adding differential and proportional control loops with different control objectives.The available PMSG kinetic energy and charging/discharging capacities of the ESS were restricted.To improve the inertia response and frequency control capability,we propose a short-term frequency support strategy for the ESS and PMSG.To this end,the weights were embedded in the control loops to adjust the participation of the differential and proportional controls based on the system frequency excursion.The effectiveness of the proposed control strategy was verified using PSCAD/EMTDC.The simulations revealed that the proposed strategy could improve the maximum rate of change of the frequency nadir and maximum frequency excursion.Therefore,it provides a promising solution of ancillary services for frequency regulation of PMSG and ESS.

A series of novel chitosan-based magnetic flocculants FS@CTS-P(AM-DMC)was prepared by molecular structure control.The characterization results showed that FS@CTS-P(AM-DMC)had a uniform size of about 21.46 nm,featuring a typical core-shell structure,and the average coating layer thickness of CTS-P(AM-DMC)was about 5.03 nm.FS@CTS-P(AM-DMC)exhibited excellent flocculation performance for kaolin suspension,achieved 92.54% turbidity removal efficiency under dosage of 150 mg/L,pH 7.0,even at high turbidity(2000 NTU)with a removal efficiency of 96.96%.The flocculation mechanism was revealed to be dominated by charge neutralization under acidic and neutral conditions,while adsorption and bridging effects play an important role in alkaline environments.The properties of magnetic aggregates during flocculation,breakage,and regeneration were studied at different pH levels and dosages.In the process of magnetophoretic,magnetic particles collide and adsorb with kaolin particles continuously due to magnetic and electrostatic attraction,transform into magnetic chain clusters,and then further form three-dimensional network magnetic aggregates that can capture free kaolin particles and other chain clusters.Particle image velocimetry confirmed the formation of eddy current of magnetic flocs and experienced three stages:acceleration,stabilization,and deceleration.

LDAS&ET-AD:Learnable Distillation Attack Strategies and Evolvable Teachers Adversarial Distillation

Adversarial distillation(AD)has emerged as a potential solution to tackle the challenging optimization problem of loss with hard labels in adversarial training.However,fixed sample-agnostic and student-egocentric attack strategies are unsuitable for distillation.Additionally,the reliability of guidance from static teachers diminishes as target models become more robust.This paper proposes an AD method called Learnable Distillation Attack Strategies and Evolvable Teachers Adversarial Distillation(LDAS&ET-AD).Firstly,a learnable distillation attack strategies generating mechanism is developed to automatically generate sample-dependent attack strategies tailored for distillation.A strategy model is introduced to produce attack strategies that enable adversarial examples(AEs)to be created in areas where the target model significantly diverges from the teachers by competing with the target model in minimizing or maximizing the AD loss.Secondly,a teacher evolution strategy is introduced to enhance the reliability and effectiveness of knowledge in improving the generalization performance of the target model.By calculating the experimentally updated target model’s validation performance on both clean samples and AEs,the impact of distillation from each training sample and AE on the target model’s generalization and robustness abilities is assessed to serve as feedback to fine-tune standard and robust teachers accordingly.Experiments evaluate the performance of LDAS&ET-AD against different adversarial attacks on the CIFAR-10 and CIFAR-100 datasets.The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves a robust precision of 45.39%and 42.63%against AutoAttack(AA)on the CIFAR-10 dataset for ResNet-18 and MobileNet-V2,respectively,marking an improvement of 2.31%and 3.49%over the baseline method.In comparison to state-of-the-art adversarial defense techniques,our method surpasses Introspective Adversarial Distillation,the top-performing method in terms of robustness under AA attack for the CIFAR-10 dataset,with

Acetone Planar Lase-Induced Fluorescence(PLIF)and OH-PLIF were employed to capture the fuel distribution and OH distribution downstream for the supersonic combustor based on the alternating-wedge strut.The combustion establishment process and combustion mode in the combustor under different fuel injection methods and different equivalence ratios were analyzed.Combined with the kerosene-PLIF and OH-PLIF results in the cavity combustor,a comparative analysis was conducted to understand the combustion characteristics and combustion modes between the alternating-wedge strut-based combustor and the cavity-based combustor.The results show that the combustor is in weak combustion mode in the case of low equivalence ratio,and the combustor is in intensive combustion mode in the case of high equivalence ratio.The lower limit of the equivalence ratio of the combustor to maintain the intensive combustion mode varies based on different fuel injection methods.The OH distribution under reacting condition has a strong correlation with the fuel distribution under non-reacting condition.The OH fluorescence signal near the injector is weaker when the fuel distribution is more concentrated.The injector position located at the base of the strut rear has better mixing performance,enabling the combustor to be in intensive combustion mode at a lower equivalence ratio.The combustion reaction in the alternating-wedge strut-based combustor is not necessarily dominated by mass transfer due to the mixing enhancement and premixed zone downstream of strut,while the combustion reaction process in the cavity-based combustor is mainly influenced by mass transfer.

Enhancement of catalytic activity for hydrogenation of nitroaromatic by anionic metal-organic framework

Nitroaromatic hydrogenation catalysis without precious metals remains a longstanding challenge.The rate of electron transfer is the crucial factor affecting hydrogenation catalysis.Herein,an ionic Cd-based metal-organic framework(I-Cd-MOF)exhibiting a unique structure with one-dimensional(1D)opening nanochannels and good electron transfer ability was synthesized for catalyzing hydrogenation of 4-nitrophenol(4-NP).The catalytic activity of the unique I-Cd-MOF without noble metals is detected,which is higher than most reported noble metal catalysts.Remarkably,the reaction rate of I-Cd-MOF(4.28 min^(-1))is about 47.6 times higher than that of the Cd-based neutral MOF(N-Cd-MOF)with the similar crystalline structure.Liquid chromatograph mass spectrometer(LC-MS)and theoretical results demonstrate that 4-NP and five intermediates are stabilized in the channels of I-Cd-MOF,which increases the possibility of contact with H^*and H_(2)g enerated at the Cd sites.The I-Cd-MOF was extended to other nitroaromatic hydrogenation catalysis,which still displays excellent activity.More importantly,the I-MOF@Filter membrane was successfully constructed for continuous hydrogenation catalytic reactions,which maintains a high catalytic performance after 7 cycles of recycling without washing.This work fills in the application of the I-MOFs in hydrogenation catalytic reactions and provides an effective way for the rapid and green degradation of nitroaromatic compounds.

Bald Eagle Search Optimization Algorithm Combined with Spherical Random Shrinkage Mechanism and Its Application

Over the last two decades,stochastic optimization algorithms have proved to be a very promising approach to solving a variety of complex optimization problems.Bald eagle search optimization(BES)as a new stochastic optimization algorithm with fast convergence speed has the ability of prominent optimization and the defect of collapsing in the local best.To avoid BES collapse at local optima,inspired by the fact that the volume of the sphere is the largest when the surface area is certain,an improved bald eagle search optimization algorithm(INMBES)integrating the random shrinkage mechanism of the sphere is proposed.Firstly,the INMBES embeds spherical coordinates to design a more accurate parameter update method to modify the coverage and dispersion of the population.Secondly,the population splits into elite and non-elite groups and the Bernoulli chaos is applied to elite group to tap around potential solutions of the INMBES.The non-elite group is redistributed again and the Nelder-Mead simplex strategy is applied to each group to accelerate the evolution of the worst individual and the convergence process of the INMBES.The results of Friedman and Wilcoxon rank sum tests of CEC2017 in 10,30,50,and 100 dimensions numerical optimization confirm that the INMBES has superior performance in convergence accuracy and avoiding falling into local optimization compared with other potential improved algorithms but inferior to the champion algorithm and ranking third.The three engineering constraint optimization problems and 26 real world problems and the problem of extracting the best feature subset by encapsulated feature selection method verify that the INMBES’s performance ranks first and has achieved satisfactory accuracy in solving practical problems.

In this paper, the problem of time-varying aerodynamic parameters identification under measurement noises is studied. By analyzing the key aerodynamic parameters that affect the aircraft control system, a system model with extended states for identifying equivalent aerodynamic parameters is established, and error parameters are extended to the system state, avoiding the difficulty caused by the unknown dynamic in the system. Furthermore, an identification algorithm based on extended state Kalman filter is designed, and it is proved that the algorithm has quasi-consistency, thus, the estimation error can be evaluated in real time. Finally, the simulation results under typical flight scenarios show that the designed algorithm can accurately identify aerodynamic parameters, and has desired convergence speed and convergence precision.

ATSSC:An Attack Tolerant System in Serverless Computing

Serverless computing is a promising paradigm in cloud computing that greatly simplifies cloud programming.With serverless computing,developers only provide function code to serverless platform,and these functions are invoked by its driven events.Nonetheless,security threats in serverless computing such as vulnerability-based security threats have become the pain point hindering its wide adoption.The ideas in proactive defense such as redundancy,diversity and dynamic provide promising approaches to protect against cyberattacks.However,these security technologies are mostly applied to serverless platform based on“stacked”mode,as they are designed independent with serverless computing.The lack of security consideration in the initial design makes it especially challenging to achieve the all life cycle protection for serverless application with limited cost.In this paper,we present ATSSC,a proactive defense enabled attack tolerant serverless platform.ATSSC integrates the characteristic of redundancy,diversity and dynamic into serverless seamless to achieve high-level security and efficiency.Specifically,ATSSC constructs multiple diverse function replicas to process the driven events and performs cross-validation to verify the results.In order to create diverse function replicas,both software diversity and environment diversity are adopted.Furthermore,a dynamic function refresh strategy is proposed to keep the clean state of serverless functions.We implement ATSSC based on Kubernetes and Knative.Analysis and experimental results demonstrate that ATSSC can effectively protect serverless computing against cyberattacks with acceptable costs.

Auxin is throughout the entire life process of plants and is involved in the crosstalk with other hormones,yet its role in apple disease resistance remains unclear.In this study,we investigated the function of auxin/indole-3-acetic acid(IAA)gene Md IAA24 overexpression in enhancing apple resistance to Glomerella leaf spot(GLS)caused by Colletotrichum fructicola(Cf).Analysis revealed that,upon Cf infection,35S::Md IAA24 plants exhibited enhanced superoxide dismutase(SOD)and peroxidase(POD)activity,as well as a greater amount of glutathione(reduced form)and ascorbic acid accumulation,resulting in less H_(2)O_(2)and superoxide anion(O_(2)^(-))in apple leaves.Furthermore,35S::Md IAA24 plants produced more protocatechuic acid,proanthocyanidins B1,proanthocyanidins B2 and chlorogenic acid when infected with Cf.Following Cf infection,35S::Md IAA24 plants presented lower levels of IAA and jasmonic acid(JA),but higher levels of salicylic acid(SA),along with the expression of related genes.The overexpression of Md IAA24 was observed to enhance the activity of chitinase andβ-1,3-glucanase in Cfinfected leaves.The results indicated the ability of Md IAA24 to regulate the crosstalk between IAA,JA and SA,and to improve reactive oxygen species(ROS)scavenging and defense-related enzymes activity.This jointly contributed to GLS resistance in apple.

Geochemical fractionation and potential release behaviour of heavy metals in lead–zinc smelting soils

The lack of understanding of heavy metal speciation and solubility control mechanisms in smelting soils limits the effective pollution control.In this study smelting soils were investigated by an advanced mineralogical analysis(AMICS),leaching tests and thermodynamic modelling.The aims were to identify the partitioning and release behaviour of Pb,Zn,Cd and As.The integration of multiple techniques was necessary and displayed coherent results.In addition to the residual fraction,Pb and Zn were predominantly associated with reducible fractions,and As primarily existed as the crystalline iron oxide-bound fractions.AMICS quantitative analysis further confirmed that Fe oxyhydroxides were the common dominant phase for As,Cd,Pb and Zn.In addition,a metal arsenate(paulmooreite)was an important mineral host for Pb and As.The pH-stat leaching indicted that the release of Pb,Zn and Cd increased towards low pH values while release of As increased towards high p H values.The separate leaching schemes were associated with the geochemical behaviour under the control of minerals and were confirmed by thermodynamic modelling.PHREEQC calculations suggested that the formation of arsenate minerals(schultenite,mimetite and koritnigite)and the binding to Fe oxyhydroxides synchronously controlled the release of Pb,Zn,Cd and As.Our results emphasized the governing role of Fe oxyhydroxides and secondary insoluble minerals in natural attenuation of heavy metals,which provides a novelty strategy for the stabilization of multi-metals in smelting sites.
