The inhibitory effect of adenosine on tumor adaptive immunity and intervention strategies

Adenosine(Ado)is significantly elevated in the tumor microenvironment(TME)compared to normal tissues.It binds to adenosine receptors(AdoRs),suppressing tumor antigen presentation and immune cell activation,thereby inhibiting tumor adaptive immunity.Ado downregulates major histocompatibility complex II(MHC II)and co-stimulatory factors on dendritic cells(DCs)and macrophages,inhibiting antigen presentation.It suppresses anti-tumor cytokine secretion and T cell activation by disrupting T cell receptor(TCR)binding and signal transduction.Ado also inhibits chemokine secretion and KCa3.1 channel activity,impeding effector T cell trafficking and infiltration into the tumor site.Furthermore,Ado diminishes T cell cytotoxicity against tumor cells by promoting immune-suppressive cytokine secretion,upregulating immune checkpoint proteins,and enhancing immune-suppressive cell activity.Reducing Ado production in the TME can significantly enhance anti-tumor immune responses and improve the efficacy of other immunotherapies.Preclinical and clinical development of inhibitors targeting Ado generation or AdoRs is underway.Therefore,this article will summarize and analyze the inhibitory effects and molecular mechanisms of Ado on tumor adaptive immunity,as well as provide an overview of the latest advancements in targeting Ado pathways in anti-tumor immune responses.

Study on the low mechanical anisotropy of extruded Mg-Zn-Mn-Ce-Ca alloy tube in the compression process

In this study,the extruded Mg-Zn-Mn-Ce-Ca alloy tube with a low compression anisotropy along the ED,45ED and TD was prepared.The effect of the second phases,initial texture and deformation behavior on this low mechanical anisotropy was investigated.The results revealed that the alloy tube contains the high content(Mg1-xZnx)11Ce phase and the low content of Mg12Ce phase.These second phases are respectively incoherent and coherent with the Mg matrix,and their influence can be ignored.Additionally,the alloy tube exhibited a weak basal fiber texture,where the c-axis was aligned along the 0°∼30°tilt from TD to ED.Such a texture made the initial deformation(at 1.0%∼1.6%strain)of the three samples controlled by comparable basalslip.As deformation progressed(1.6∼9.0%strain),larger amounts of ETWs nucleated and gradually approached saturation in the three samples,re-orienting the c-axis to a 0°∼±30°deviation with respect to the loading directions.Meanwhile,the prismatic and pyramidalslips replaced the dominant deformation progressively until fracture.Eventually,the similar deformation mechanisms determined by the weak initial texture in the three samples contribute to the comparable strain hardening rates,resulting in the low compressive anisotropy of the alloy tube.

Kinematic calibration under the expectation maximization framework for exoskeletal inertial motion capture system

This study presents a kinematic calibration method for exoskeletal inertial motion capture (EI-MoCap) system with considering the random colored noise such as gyroscopic drift.In this method, the geometric parameters are calibrated by the traditional calibration method at first. Then, in order to calibrate the parameters affected by the random colored noise, the expectation maximization (EM) algorithm is introduced. Through the use of geometric parameters calibrated by the traditional calibration method, the iterations under the EM framework are decreased and the efficiency of the proposed method on embedded system is improved. The performance of the proposed kinematic calibration method is compared to the traditional calibration method. Furthermore, the feasibility of the proposed method is verified on the EI-MoCap system. The simulation and experiment demonstrate that the motion capture precision is significantly improved by 16.79%and 7.16%respectively in comparison to the traditional calibration method.

BP-LMS-based BDS-3 power system positioning method

The BeiDou-3 navigation satellite system(BDS-3)provides a full-domain high-precision positioning service for the power system to ensure safe and stable operation.However,BDS-3 power system positioning faces certain challenges,such as complex electromagnetic interference and incomplete error elimination.Herein,a back propagation neural network-improved least mean square(BP-LMS)adaptive filtering method is proposed for the BDS-3 full-domain and high-precision power system positioning,which utilizes the loss function to update the weight of the BP hidden layer,computes the pseudo compensation range,and eliminates the impact of electromagnetic interference to enhance the accuracy of power system positioning.Simulation results confirm the superior performance of BP-LMS in positioning accuracy and error elimination.Compared with LMS and normalized least mean square(NLMS),the filtering error of the proposed BP-LMS adaptive filtering method is decreased by 57.14%and 51.38%,respectively.

Light-triggered fluorochromic cholesteric liquid crystal elastomer with hydrogen-bonded fluorescent switch: dualmodal-switchable circularly polarized luminescence

Solid materials with dynamically tunable circularly polarized luminescence（CPL） feature higher security levels and devicefriendly characteristics, showing great superiority in the field of information technology and anti-counterfeiting. To address the limited photoisomerization of fluorescent photoswitch in CPL-active solid materials, here a cholesteric liquid crystal elastomer（CLCE） containing a hydrogen-bonded（H-bonded） polymerizable fluorescent switch AHBA-PSD is prepared. Owing to the good flexibility and low glass-transition temperature of CLCE, AHBA-PSD shows a fast and fully reversible photocyclization/cycloreversion with fluorochromic behavior in CLCE. Further, by controlling the spectral overlapping area between the emission and reflection bands, the CLCE exhibits a strong CPL with a glumvalue of up to 0.76 accompanied by a reversible phototunable CPL signal. Meanwhile, the H-bond helps to stabilize the mechanical property, and the force-induced switching-off of CPL signal could be achieved due to the destroyed helical structures by external force. Finally, an automatically-recognized identification card with abundant chiroptical information is demonstrated.

To help in the prevention of large-scale loss of agricultural production caused by crop pests,a visual analysis was performed on the main research areas,key countries,organizational cooperation,citation sources and current trends in pest research by searching the literature of Web of Science database and using CiteSpace 5.8.R3 and VOSviewer 1.6.18 software.Additionally,the effects and mechanisms of natural products with anti-insect activity were summarized through visual analysis.According to the bibliometric analysis,keywords such as mortality(232 occurrences),natural enemy(232 occurrences)and spinosad(110 occurrences)were common,and insecticides and natural enemies of pests were the main methods for killing pests.However,pesticide use exhibits numerous limitations.Co-occurring terms in visualization analysis mainly included residue(193 occurrences),detection(153 occurrences),degradation(133 occurrences),recovery(103 occurrences),pyrethroid(97 occurrences)and pesticide residues(65 occurrences).Thus,pesticides cannot fundamentally solve food security;pesticides also pollute the environment and endanger human health.Therefore,green and efficient pesticides that can replace synthetic pesticides are urgently needed.Natural products have recently gained attention in Brazil,China,the USA and other countries because they are green and pollution-free,and new natural pesticides have been developed.This visual analysis combined data mining with literature review and summarize the anti-pest activities and mechanisms of action of natural products.This information provides a foundation and ideas for researchers to study the application and development of natural products in pest control.

Powdery mildew(PM),caused by Blumeria graminis f.***.tritici(Bgt),is one of the destructive wheat diseases worldwide.Wild emmer wheat(Triticum turgidum ssp.dicoccoides,WEW),a tetraploid progenitor of common wheat,is a valuable genetic resource for wheat disease resistance breeding programs.We developed three hexaploid pre-breeding lines with PM resistance genes derived from three WEW accessions.These resistant pre-breeding lines were crossed with susceptible common wheat accessions.Segregations in the F2populations were 3 resistant:1 susceptible,suggesting a single dominant allele in each resistant parent.Mapping of the resistance gene in each line indicated a single locus on the long arm of chromosome 7A,at the approximate location of previously cloned Pm60 from T.urartu.Sanger sequencing revealed three different Pm60 haplotypes(Hap 3,Hap 5,and Hap 6).Co-segregating diagnostic markers were developed for identification and selection of each haplotype.The resistance function of each haplotype was verified by the virus-induced gene silencing(VIGS).Common wheat lines carrying each of these Pm60 haplotypes were resistant to most Bgt isolates and differences in the response arrays suggested allelic variation in response.

Emerging direct current triboelectric nanogenerator for high-entropy mechanical energy harvesting

In the era of the Internet of Things(IoT),the provision of sustainable power to distributed,mobile,and low-power-consumption electronic devices is a critical challenge.To overcome this challenge,the triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG),a highly efficient high-entropy mechanical energy harvesting device,was developed in 2012.This device enables the direct conversion of irregular and low-frequency mechanical energy into pulsed alternating current(AC)signals.However,the incompatibility of most electronic devices with AC signals necessitates rectifier circuits or generators that deliver direct current(DC)signals.In recent years,DC-TENGs have undergone extensive development,achieving significant milestones in various application fields while also facing crucial challenges that require solutions.In this review,three categories of DC-TENG devices with distinct operating mechanisms are comprehensively explored:multiphase coupling,mechanical rectification,and air breakdown.Their typical structures and working mechanisms are thoroughly discussed,and specific output performance limitations,along with corresponding optimization strategies,are identified.Furthermore,the applications of DC-TENGs in various scenarios are summarized.Finally,the challenges faced by DC-TENGs and potential solutions are analyzed to guide further advancements in this technology.
