Multidimensional linear cryptanalysis with key difference invariant bias for block ciphers

For block ciphers,Bogdanov et al.found that there are some linear approximations satisfying that their biases are deterministically invariant under key difference.This property is called key difference invariant bias.Based on this property,Bogdanov et al.proposed a related-key statistical distinguisher and turned it into key-recovery attacks on LBlock and TWINE-128.In this paper,we propose a new related-key model by combining multidimensional linear cryptanalysis with key difference invariant bias.The main theoretical advantage is that our new model does not depend on statistical independence of linear approximations.We demonstrate our cryptanalysis technique by performing key recovery attacks on LBlock and TWINE-128.By using the relations of the involved round keys to reduce the number of guessed subkey bits.Moreover,the partial-compression technique is used to reduce the time complexity.We can recover the master key of LBlock up to 25 rounds with about 260.4 distinct known plaintexts,278.85 time complexity and 261 bytes of memory requirements.Our attack can recover the master key of TWINE-128 up to 28 rounds with about 261.5 distinct known plaintexts,2126.15 time complexity and 261 bytes of memory requirements.The results are the currently best ones on cryptanalysis of LBlock and TWINE-128.

Snapshot boosting: a fast ensemble framework for deep neural networks

Boosting has been proven to be effective in improving the generalization of machine learning models in many fields. It is capable of getting high-diversity base learners and getting an accurate ensemble model by combining a sufficient number of weak learners. However, it is rarely used in deep learning due to the high training budget of the neural network. Another method named snapshot ensemble can significantly reduce the training budget, but it is hard to balance the tradeoff between training costs and diversity. Inspired by the ideas of snapshot ensemble and boosting, we propose a method named snapshot boosting. A series of operations are performed to get many base models with high diversity and accuracy, such as the use of the validation set, the boosting-based training framework, and the effective ensemble strategy. Last, we evaluate our method on the computer vision(CV) and the natural language processing(NLP) tasks, and the results show that snapshot boosting can get a more balanced trade-off between training expenses and ensemble accuracy than other well-known ensemble methods.

Tax Sharing and Fiscal Imbalances:Reconstruction of the VAT Sharing System in China

Unreasonable distribution of regional fiscal revenue may lead to fiscal imbalance,while narrowing the fiscal gap will help to establish a modern fiscal relationship between the central government and local governments with fi nancial coordination and regional balance.This paper examines the 2016 VAT sharing reform to study the impact of tax sharing on fiscal imbalances,and puts forward a new plan to reconstruct the VAT sharing ratio.It has been found out in the study that the VAT sharing reform has alleviated the vertical fiscal imbalances caused by the reform of“replacing business tax with VAT”to some extent,but has aggravated the horizontal fiscal imbalances and widened the regional fiscal gaps.The deepening of horizontal fiscal imbalances is due to the aggravated differentiation of regional fiscal capacity after the VAT sharing reform.The adjustment of the principle on which the VAT is levied and the way by which it is shared is conducive to reducing interregional fiscal imbalances.This research is of reference to rationalizing the intergovernmental fiscal relationship,which is helpful to further clarify the implications of modern intergovernmental fiscal relationship and promote the construction of a modern fiscal system.

Light-induced electron transfer can broaden the substrate range of metalloenzyme.However,the efficiency of photo-enzyme coupling is limited by the poor combination of photosensitizer or photocatalyst with enzyme.Herein,we prepared the nano-photocatalyst MIL-125-NH_(2)@Ru(bpy)by in site embedding ruthenium pyridine-diimine complex[Ru(bpy)_(3)^(2+)into metal organic frameworks MIL-125-NH_(2)and associated it with multicopper oxidase(MCO)laccase.Compared to[Ru(bpy)_(3)]^(2+),the coupling efficiency of MIL-125-NH_(2)@Ru(bpy)_(3)for enzymatic oxygen reduction increased by 35.7%.A series of characterizations confirmed that the amino group of laccase formed chemical bonds with the surface defects or hydrophobic groups of MIL-125-NH_(2)@Ru(bpy)_(3).Consequently,the tight binding accelerated the quenching process and electron transfer between laccase and the immobilized ruthenium pyridine-diimine complex.This work would open an avenue for the synthesis of MOFs photocatalyst towards photo-enzyme coupling.

Fiber optic strain rate sensor based on a differentiating interferometer

Strain rate is an important basic physical parameter in the fields of deformation observation, geodetic measurement,and geophysical monitoring. This paper proposes a novel fiber optic strain rate sensor(FOSRS) that can directly measure the strain rate through a differentiating interferometer that converts the strain rate to the optical phase.The sensing principle, sensitivity, resolution, and dynamic range of the proposed FOSRS are theoretically analyzed and verified by experiment. The experimental results show that the developed FOSRS with a 12.1 m sensing fiber has a flat sensitivity of 69.50 d B, a nanostrain rate(nε∕s) resolution, and a dynamic range of better than 95 d B.An ultrahigh static resolution of 17.07 pε∕s can be achieved by using a 25.277 km sensing fiber for long baseline measurements. The proposed method significantly outperforms existing indirect measurement methods and has potential applications in geophysical monitoring and crustal deformation observation.

Reduction of High-frequency Vibration Noise for Dual-branch Three-phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors

Two-level voltage source inverters with pulse width modulation(PWM)generate multiple carrier harmonics,thereby exciting high-frequency noise from the motor.Based on a special dual-branch three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM),a method that utilizes a known modified space vector PWM technique is proposed.This method is able to suppress unpleasant high-frequency vibration noise as well as acoustic noise more effectively than other methods.Vibration noise near the twice carrier frequency is eliminated,and PWM vibration noise around the carrier frequency is also reduced.In particular,vibration and acoustic noise at the twice carrier frequency are eliminated using a carrier phase-shift of 0.5πand the special winding structure of the dual-branch PMSM.The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed using detailed experimental results.

The Effect of Boreal Summer Intraseasonal Oscillation on Mixed Layer and Upper Ocean Temperature over the South China Sea

Intraseasonal oscillation of the mixed layer and upper ocean temperature has been found to occur over the South China Sea(SCS)in the summer monsoon season based on the multiple reanalysis and observational data in this study.The method of composite analysis and an upper ocean temperature equation assisted the analysis of physical mechanisms.The results show that the mixed layer depth(MLD)in the SCS has a significant oscillation with a 30-60 d period over the SCS region,which is closely related to boreal summer intraseasonal oscillation(BSISO)activities.The MLD can increase(decrease)during the positive(negative)phase of the BSISO and usually lags behind by approximately one-eighth of the lifecycle(5 days)of the BSISO-related convection.The BSISO may cause periodic anomalies at the air-sea boundary,such as wind stress and heat flux,so it can play a dominant role in modulating the variation in MLD.There also are significant intraseasonal seawater temperature anomalies in both the surface and subsurface layers of the SCS.In addition,during the initial phase of the BSISO,the temperature anomaly signals of the thermocline are obviously opposite to the sea surface temperature(SST),especially in the southern SCS.According to the results from the analysis of the temperature equation,the vertical entrainment term caused by BSISO-related wind stress is stronger than the thermal forcing during the initial stage of convection,and it is more significant in the southern SCS.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC)is a prevalent malignant tumor affecting the head and neck region(Leemans et al.,2018).It is often diagnosed at a later stage,leading to a poor prognosis(Muzaffar et al.,2021;Li et al.,2023).Despite advances in OSCC treatment,the overall 5-year survival rate of OSCC patients remains alarmingly low,falling below 50%(Jehn et al.,2019;Johnson et al.,2020).According to statistics,only 50%of patients with oral cancer can be treated with surgery.Once discovered,it is more frequently at an advanced stage.In addition,owing to the aggressively invasive and metastatic characteristics of OSCC,most patients die within one year of diagnosis.Hence,the pursuit of novel therapeutic drugs and treatments to improve the response of oral cancer to medication,along with a deeper understanding of their effects.

RankXGB-Based Enterprise Credit Scoring by Electricity Consumption in Edge Computing Environment

With the rapid development of the internet of things(IoT),electricity consumption data can be captured and recorded in the IoT cloud center.This provides a credible data source for enterprise credit scoring,which is one of the most vital elements during the financial decision-making process.Accordingly,this paper proposes to use deep learning to train an enterprise credit scoring model by inputting the electricity consumption data.Instead of predicting the credit rating,our method can generate an absolute credit score by a novel deep ranking model–ranking extreme gradient boosting net(rankXGB).To boost the performance,the rankXGB model combines several weak ranking models into a strong model.Due to the high computational cost and the vast amounts of data,we design an edge computing framework to reduce the latency of enterprise credit evaluation.Specially,we design a two-stage deep learning task architecture,including a cloud-based weak credit ranking and an edge-based credit score calculation.In the first stage,we send the electricity consumption data of the evaluated enterprise to the computing cloud server,where multiple weak-ranking networks are executed in parallel to produce multiple weak-ranking results.In the second stage,the edge device fuses multiple ranking results generated in the cloud server to produce a more reliable ranking result,which is used to calculate an absolute credit score by score normalization.The experiments demonstrate that our method can achieve accurate enterprise credit evaluation quickly.
