The traditional way to filter out the implausible candidate solutions to the semantic paradoxes is to appeal to the so-called ＂cost/benefit analyses.＂ Yet it is often tedious and controversial to carry out such analyses in detail. Facing this, it would be helpful for us to rely upon some principles to filter out at least something, if not everything, from them. The proposal in this paper is thereby rather simple： We may use principles of compositionality as a ＂filter＂ for this purpose. The paper has four sections. In Section 2, the author uses the filter to examine Kripke＇s fixed-point theory and to thereby show how it works. In Section 3, the author gives more examples from the classical theories of truth to demonstrate the power of the filter. In Section 4, the author addresses the skepticism concerning whether there is any consistent or non-trivial theory of truth that can survive this filtering procedure. A ＂nearly sufficient＂ condition for a theory of truth to survive this test is discussed in order to show that at least some consistent or non-trivial theories of truth do indeed survive the filtering procedure.

为探究黄土地区刚-柔性长短桩(RFLSP)复合地基设计参数对路基沉降的影响,结合兰州—张掖三四线铁路工程,设计了多参数的RFLSP复合地基正交数值试验,研究了不同褥垫层结构、长短比、桩间距和短桩模量对路基总沉降的影响。结果表明,复合地基参数对路基总沉降的影响因素依次为长短比、桩间距、短桩模量和褥垫层结构,其对应的极差值为11.89、6.94、5.53和2.95;当柔性短桩长度不变、刚性长桩的桩长增大时,路基总沉降在减小;路基总沉降随桩间距的增加先增大后近似不变,随柔性短桩模量的增加而减小,土工格栅层数对路基总沉降影响较小;复合地基设计时,根据柔性短桩的挤土效果确定桩间距,优先通过调整刚性长桩的长度和柔性短桩的模量调节路基总沉降。

The recently emerged severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),which is the causative agent of ongoing global pan demic of COVID-19,may trigger imm uno suppression in the early stage and overactive immune resp onse in the late stage of infection;However,the un derlying mecha nisms are not well *** we dem on strated that the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid(N)protein dually regulated innate immune responses,i.e.,the low-dose N protein suppressed type I interferon(IFN-I)signaling and inflammatory cytokines,whereas high-dose N protein promoted IFN-I signaling and inflammatory ***,the SARS-CoV-2 N protein dually regulated the phosphorylation and nuclear translocation of IRF3,STAT1,and *** on ally,low-dose N protein combined with TRIM25 could suppress the ubiquitination and activatio n of retinoic acidinducible gene I(RIG-I).Our findings revealed a regulatory mechanism of innate immune responses by the SARS-CoV-2 N protein,which would contribute to understanding the pathogenesis of SARS-CoV-2 and other SARS-like coronaviruses,and development of more effective strategies for controlling COVID-19.

Nowadays,collaborative writing has gained much attention of many *** task complexity is a crucial factor that influences second language(L2)***,little research has explored how task complexity affects the quality of L2 collaborative *** study investigates the impact of task complexity on syntactic complexity,lexical complexity,and accuracy of the second language collaborative *** learners(N=50)in a Chinese university were required to complete two writing tasks collaboratively:a simple task and a complex *** analyzing their compositions,we found that task complexity has a significant impact on syntactic complexity and high complexity writing tasks help increase the syntactic complexity of second language collaborative ***,task complexity has little impact on lexical complexity and *** accuracy of writing tasks is largely influenced by the task *** research results may enhance the understanding of collaborative writing and task complexity and provide valuable guidance for the second language teaching.

This study investigates the effects of alignment in the narrative and expository continuation *** groups of English learners(N=50)in a Chinese university were required to continue one narrative essay and one expository essay,both of which had an English version and a Chinese *** analysis of the data using the Antconc software demonstrated that the effects of alignment occurred in the two types of continued compositions to some *** learners committed fewer errors when continuing the English-version *** addition,learners were required to complete a *** questionnaire results showed that the continuation task,as a practical teaching mode,can facilitate the students’writing and learning.
