A broad absorption line outflow associated with the broad emission line region in the quasar SDSS J075133.35+134548.3

We report on the discovery of unusual broad absorption lines(BALs)in the bright quasar SDSS J075133.35+134548.3 at z~1,using archival and newly obtained optical and NIR spectroscopic *** BALs are detected reliably in HeⅠ*λ3889,HeⅠ*λ10830 and tentatively in AlⅢ,MgⅡ.These BALs show complex velocity structures consisting of two major components:a high-velocity component(HV),with a blueshifted velocity range ofΔv_(HV)~9300--3500 km s^(-1),which can be reliably detected in HeⅠ*λ10830,and tentatively in AlⅢand MgⅡ,whereas it is undetectable in HeⅠ*λ3889;and a low-velocity component(LV),withΔv_(LV)~3500--1800 km s^(-1),is only detected in HeⅠ*λ3889 and HeⅠ*λ*** the BALs from different ions,the HV outflowing gas can be constrained to have a density of nH~10^(10.3)-10^(11.4) cm^(-3),a column density of NH~10^(21) cm^(-2)and an ionization parameter of U~10^(-1.83)-10^(-1.72);inferring a distance of RHV~0.5 pc from the central continuum source with a monochromatic luminosityλLλ(5100)=7.0×10^(45)erg s^(-1)at 5100 *** distance is remarkably similar to that of the normal broad line region(BLR)estimated from reverberation experiments,suggesting association of the BLR and the HV BAL outflowing ***,a blueshifted component is also detected in AlⅢand MgⅡbroad emission lines(BELs),and the AlⅢ/MgⅡof such a BEL component can be reproduced by the physical parameters inferred from the HV BAL *** LV BAL gas likely has a larger column density,a higher ionization level and hence a smaller distance than the HV BAL *** spectroscopy with a high S/N ratio and broader wavelength coverage is needed to confirm this to shed new light on the possible connection between BALs and BELs.

The Time and Energy Dependence of the Vela Pulsar's Pulse Profile inγ-Ray

We analyze the time and energy dependence of the Vela pulsar’s pulse profile using 13 yr observations from the Large Area Telescope on the Fermi Gamma-ray Space *** is found that the pulse profile of the Vela pulsar inγ-ray changes with *** parameterize the pulse profile and find that different shape parameters show fiuctuations rather than gradual changes with ***,these time variation trends are insignificant due to limited *** pulse profile of the Vela pulsar displays clear energy dependence inγ-*** shape parameters are accurately obtained or updated,especially the phase separations among different *** energy evolution trends are quantified for the first time,which will provide restrictions on currentγ-ray emission *** the Vela pulsar,we also find a turning point at *** and after this phase,the relative intensity of the pulse profile evolves with energy with the opposite trend.

Strategic sill pillar design for reduced hanging wall overbreak in longhole mining

Steeply dipping,vein and tabular orebodies are traditionally extracted with longitudinal retreat mining methods such as Eureka and Avoca in a bottom-up sequence with delayed *** increase productivity,sill pillars in the orebody are used to separate mining zones thus allowing production to take place simultaneously in two or more *** such mining methods are productive,they may be accompanied with high volumes of hanging wall overbreak causing significant unplanned ore *** this work,it is shown through a mine design case study of a narrow vein deposit that a sill pillar could also play a significant role in limiting hanging wall *** demonstrate the role of sill pillar,a novel numerical modelling scheme is proposed to account for progressive stope wall overbreak.A numerical modelling approach of element death and rebirth is developed to allow for the detected stope overbreak to be immediately removed and replaced with backfill material before upper-level stope *** is further shown that the average overbreak volume could be reduced by as much as 33%when the sill pillar is strategically placed in the lower half of a mine plan.

Tribological characteristics of dimpled surfaces filled with dopamine-modified MoS_(2)

To improve the tribological characteristics of dimples on the surface of 45 steel,the dimples were filled with MoS_(2)and MoS_(2)modified by dopamine(MoS_(2)@DA),and ball-disk friction and wear tests were ***,the dimple filling gap,abrasion depth,and surface cross-sectional area of 45 steel were *** wear morphology of the friction ball and exfoliation of MoS_(2)in the dimples and the bending characteristics of the specimens were *** surface friction coefficient of MoS_(2)@DA-filled specimen was 17.9%lower than MoS_(2)-filled specimen,and the dimple filling gap was 70.1%lower,the surface abrasion depth was 5.8%lower,and the abrasion cross-sectional area was 17.7%***,the bending strength of the MoS_(2)@DA specimen was 3.27 times greater than that of the MoS_(2)specimen,and the exfoliation of MoS_(2)was slowed by filling with the MoS_(2)@***,the tribological characteristics were also superior for the specimens prepared with MoS_(2)@DA.

Isolated pancreatic injury caused by abdominal massage:A case report

BACKGROUND Regular abdominal massage can be used to treat digestive symptoms such as bloating and constipation and is reported to reduce abdominal discomfort,improve digestive function,and increase the quality of life,without serious adverse *** pancreatic injury is rare,and most often occurs during severe trauma such as steering wheel impact *** our knowledge,pancreatic injury caused by massage has not yet been reported in the *** SUMMARY A 57-year-old woman was referred to our hospital for acute abdominal pain and transient *** examination,she had low hemoglobin concentration and a high white blood cell count and neutrophil *** computed tomography of the abdomen revealed a substantial hemorrhage in the abdominal cavity.A large amount of exudate in the pancreatic area was considered a *** diagnosis was *** hemoglobin and blood pressure did not rise even after *** suspected progressive bleeding in the abdominal cavity and urgently performed exploratory *** the operation,the pancreas was confirmed to be ruptured;hence,spleen-preserving pancreatic body and tail resection were performed.A pancreatic fistula was found on the 15th d after the operation,and the patient was discharged with a drainage tube on the 24th d after active ***,it was discovered that the patient had undergone a vigorous abdominal massage the day before the abdominal pain *** our knowledge,this is the first report of isolated pancreatic injury and massive abdominal hemorrhage caused by abdominal *** Our findings indicate that any action that increases intra-abdominal pressure may cause internal organ *** also review similar cases reported in the literature.

Possibility to break through limitation of measurement range in dual-wavelength digital holography

By using the beat frequency technique,the dual-wavelength digital holography(DWDH)can greatly increase the measurement range of the ***,the beat frequency technique has a limitation in measurement *** measurement range is not larger than a synthetic ***,to break through this limitation,we propose a novel DWDH method based on the constrained underdetermined equations,which consists of three parts:(i)prove that the constrained underdetermined equation has a unique integer solution,(ii)design an algorithm to search for the unique integer solution,(iii)introduce a third wavelength into the DWDH system,and design a corresponding algorithm to enhance the anti-noise performance of *** far as we know,it is the first time that we have discovered that the problem of DWDH can belong in a problem of contained underdetermined equations,and it is also the first time that we have given the mathematical proof for breaking through the limitation of the measurement range.A series of results is shown to test the theory and the corresponding *** importantly,since the principle of proposed DWDH is based on basic mathematical principles,it can be further extended to various fields,such as dual-wavelength microwave imaging and dual-wavelength coherent diffraction imaging.
