Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is one of the most common malignancies in the world. Gut microbiota has been demonstrated to play a critical role in liver inflammation, chronic fibrosis, liver cirrhosis, and HCC development through the gut-liver axis. Data sources: Recently there have been several innovative studies investigating gut microbial dysbiosismediated enhancement of HCC through the gut-liver axis. Literatures from January 1998 to January 2018 were searched in the Pub Med database using the keywords "gut microbiota" and "hepatocellular carcinoma" or "liver cancer", and the results of experimental and clinical studies were analyzed. Results: Gut microbial dysbiosis accompanies the progression of alcoholic liver disease, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and liver cirrhosis, and promotes HCC progression in an experimental mouse model. The immune system and key factors such as Toll-like receptor 4 are involved in the process. There is evidence for gut microbial dysbiosis in hepatitis virus-related HCC patients. Conclusions: Gut microbial dysbiosis is closely associated with hepatic inflammation disease and HCC through the gut-liver axis. With the enhanced understanding of the interactions between gut microbiota and liver through the gut-liver axis, new treatment strategies for HCC are being developed.

AIM： TO investigate the significance of S phase kinase- associated protein 2 （Skp2） expression in human gastric carcinoma and the relation between expressions of Skp2, p27 and PTEN. METHODS： Immunohistochemical analysis was performed on 138 gastric carcinoma specimens, their paired adjacent mucosa specimens, 102 paired lymphatic metastatic carcinoma tissue specimens, 30 dysplasia specimens, 30 intestinal metaplasia specimens, 10 chronic superficial gastritis specimens and 5 normal gastric mucosa specimens for Skp2 expression and on 138 gastric carcinoma specimens for p27 and PTEN expression. RESULTS： Skp2 labeling frequency was significantly higher in intestinal rnetaplasia （12.68±0.86） and adjacent rnucosa （19.324±1.22） than in normal gastric rnucosa （0.53±0.13） and chronic superficial gastritis （0.47±0.19）（P = 0.000）, in dysplasia （16.74±0.82）than in intestinal metaplasia （P = 0.000）; in gastric primary carcinoma （31.34±2.17） than in dysplasia and adjacent rnucosa （P = 0.000）, in metastasis gastric carcinoma in lymph nodes （39.76±2.00） than in primary gastric carcinoma （P = 0.037）, respectively. Skp2 labeling frequency was positively associated with differentiation degree （rho = 0.315, P = 0.000）, vessel invasion （rho = 0.303, P = 0.000） and lymph node metastasis （rho = 0.254, P = 0.000） of gastric cancer. Expression of Skp2 was negatively associated with p27 （rho = -0.451, P = 0.000） and PTEN （rho = -0.480, P = 0.000） expression in gastric carcinoma, p27 expression was positively associated with PTEN expression in gastric carcinoma （rho = 0.642, P = 0.000）.CONCLUSION： Skp2 overexpression may be involvedin carcinogenesis and progression of human gastric carcinoma in vivo, possibly via p27 proteolysis. PTEN may regulate the expression of p27 by negatively regulating Skp2 expression.

Effect of chip rate on the ranging accuracy in a regenerative pseudo-noise ranging system

The ranging accuracy of a pseudo-noise ranging system is mainly decided by range jitter and time delay discrimination. Many factors can affect the ranging accuracy, one of which is the chip rate. In digital signal processing, the time delay discrimination and autocorrelation function of sampled ranging sequences of different chip rates are very different. An approximation simulation model is established according to an in-phase quadrature (I/Q) correlator which is used to evaluate the time delay. Simulation results of the range jitter and time delay discrimination show that the chip rate which provides a non-integer sample-to-chip rate ratio can achieve a higher ranging accuracy, and some test results validate the simulation model. In some design missions, the simulation results may help to select an optimum sample-to-chip rate ratio to satisfy the design requirement on the ranging accuracy.

AIM: To investigate pathological types and influential factors of chronic graft dysfunction (CGD) following liver transplantation (LT) in rats. METHODS: The whole experiment was divided into three groups: (1) Normal group (n = 12): normal BN rats without any drug or operation; (2) SGT group (syngeneic transplant of BN-BN, n = 12): both donors and recipients were BN rats; and (3) AGT group (allogeneic transplant of LEW-BN, n = 12): Donors were Lewis and recipients were BN rats. In the AGT group, all recipients were subcutaneously injected by Cyclosporin A after LT. Survival time was observed for 1 year. All the dying rats were sampled, biliary tract tissues were performed bacterial culture and liver tissues for histological study. Twenty-one d after LT, 8 rats were selected randomly in each group for sampling. Blood samples from caudal veins were collected for measurements of plasma endotoxin, cytokines and metabonomic analysis, and faeces were analyzed for intestinal microflora. RESULTS: During the surgery of LT, no complications of blood vessels or bile duct happened, and all rats in each group were still alive in the next 2 wk. The long term observation revealed that a total of 8 rats in the SGT and AGT groups died of hepatic graft diseases, 5 rats in which died of chronic bile duct hyperplasia. Compared to the SGT and normal groups, survival ratio of rats significantly decreased in the AGT group (aP < 0.01, bP < 0.001, respectively). Moreover, liver necrosis, liver infection, and severe chronic bile duct hyperplasia were observed in the AGT group by H and E stain. On 21 d after LT, compared with the normal group (25.38 ± 7.09 ng/L) and SGT group (33.12 ± 10.26 ng/L), plasma endotoxin in the AGT group was remarkably increased (142.86 ± 30.85 ng/L) (both P < 0.01). Plasma tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-6 were also significantly elevated in the AGT group (593.6 ± 171.67 pg/mL, 323.8 ± 68.30 pg/mL) vs the normal (225.5 ± 72.07 pg/mL, 114.6 ± 36.67 pg/mL) and

Background： Laparoscopic cholecystectomy （LC） has been a standard operation and replaced the open cholecystectomy （OC） rapidly because the technique resulted in less pain, smaller incision, and faster recovery. This study was to evaluate the value of blunt dissection in preventing bile duct injury （BDI） in laparoscopic cholecystectomy （LC）. Methods： From 2003 to 2015, LC was performed on 21,497 patients, 7470 males and 14,027 females, age 50.3 years （14-84 years）. The Calot＇s triangle was bluntly dissected and each duct in Calot＇s triangle was identified before transecting the cystic duct. Results： Two hundred and thirty-nine patients （1.1%） were converted to open procedures. The postoperative hospital stay was 2.1 （0-158） days, and cases （46%） had hospitalization days of 1 day or less, and 92.8% had hospitalization days of 3 days or less; BDI was occurred in 20 cases （0.09%） including 6 cases of common BDI, 2 cases of common hepatic duct injury, l case of fight hepatic duct injury, I case of accessory fight hepatic duct, 1 case of aberrant BDI l case ofbiliary stricture, 1 case ofbiliary duct perforation, 3 cases ofhemobilia, and 4 cases of bile leakage. Conclusion： Exposing Calot＇s triangle by blunt dissection in laparoscopic cholecystectomy could prevent intraoperative BD1.
