The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has become a global *** on epidemiological and clinical characteristics of patients with COVID-19 have indicated that children are susceptible to SARS-CoV-2 [1-3].To date,the largest study in China reported that over 90% of 2143 children with COVID-19 were asymptomatic,or had mild or moderate illness,and that 5.8% presented critical illness [3].Although the data of neonates are limited and only six neonates with COVID-19 have been reported thus far,several important points should be addressed from these neonatal cases.

Background There is little information about neonatal follow-up programs(NFUPs)in *** study aimed to conduct a survey of hospitals participating in the Chinese Neonatal Network(CHNN)to determine the status of NFUPs,including resources available,criteria for enrollment,neurodevelopmental assessments,and duration of *** We conducted a descriptive study using an online survey of all 72 hospitals participating in CHNN in *** survey included 15 questions that were developed based on the current literature and investigators’knowledge about followup practices in *** Sixty-four(89%)of the 72 hospitals responded to the survey,with an even distribution of children’s(31%),maternity(33%)and general(36%)*** but one(98%)hospital had NFUPs,with 44(70%)being established after *** criteria for follow-up were variable,but common criteria included very preterm infants<32 weeks or<2000 g birth weight(100%),small for gestational age(97%),hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy(98%)and postsurgery(90%).The average follow-up rate was 70%(range:7.5%–100%).Only 12%of hospitals followed up with patients for more than 24 *** was significant variation in neurodevelopmental assessments,follow-up schedule,composition of staff,and clinic facilities and *** of the staff had received formal training,and only four hospitals had sent staff to foreign hospitals as *** There is significant variation in eligibility criteria,duration of follow-up,types of assessments,staffing,training and facilities *** and standardization are urgently needed.

A rotating stopper-rod technique was proposed to suppress the formation of free-surface vortex in the *** large eddy simulation model coupled with volume of fluid model was developed to study the steel–slag–gas three-phase flow *** critical slag entrapment height of the free-surface vortex and mass of residual steel were predicted at different rotating speeds(30,60,90 and 120 r/min)of the rotating *** numerical model was verified by water model *** results showed that by rotating the stopper-rod in the opposite direction of the vortex above the submerged entry nozzle,the formation of vortex can be effectively disturbed and the critical height of the free-surface vortex can be *** for the 2nd strand,when the rotating speeds are 30,60,90 and 120 r/min,the critical height of the free-surface vortex above the 2nd strand is 7.3,4.7,6.3 and 7.4 cm,respectively.A reasonable rotating speed should be 60 r/min,which can reduce about 2 tons of residual *** rotating speeds just can reduce about 1.6 tons of residual steel.

The V-based body-centered cubic(BCC)-type hydrogen storage alloys have attracted significant attention due to their high theoretical hydrogen storage capacity of3.80 wt%.However,their practical application faces challenges related to low dehydriding capacity and poor activation *** overcome these challenges,a BCC-type Ti-V-Cr-Mn-Mo-Ce high-entropy alloy(HEA)with an effectively dehydriding capacity of 2.5 wt% above 0.1 MPa was *** introduction of Mo and conducting heat treatment,the precipitation of Ti-rich phase in HEA was successfully suppressed,resulting in improved compositional uniformity and dehydriding ***,the effective dehydriding capacity increased significantly from 0.60 wt% to 2.50 wt% at 65℃,surpassing that of other types of hydrogen storage alloys under the same ***,the addition of 1 wt%Ce enabled initial hydrogen absorption at 25℃ without the need for activation at 400℃.Furthermore,Ce doping reduced the dehydriding activation energy of the Ti-V-Cr-Mn-Mo-Ce HEA from 52.71 to 42.82 kJ·mol^(-1)Additionally,the enthalpy value of dehydrogenation decreased from 46.89 to 17.96 k J·mol^(-1),attributed to a decrease in the hysteresis factor from 0.68 to *** findings provide valuable insights for optimizing the hydrogen storage property of HEA.

Although paternal ethanol （EtOH） abuse has been shown to affect the growth and behavior of offspring, the exact molecular and mechanistic basis remains largely unclear. Methylation alterations in imprinted genes may be related to well-documented teratogenic effects of ethanol. Here we show that chronic paternal ethanol exposure increases the susceptibility to abnormal behavior in offspring through male game epigenetic alteration. In our study, different doses of ethanol （0, 1,1, 3.3 g kg^-1） were administered intra-gastrically to male mice and decreased sperm motility was found in the highest ethanol-exposed group compared with the controls. Data also showed a dose-dependent increase in deaf mice of the paternally ethanol-exposed groups. The methylation of H19, Peg3, Ndn and Snrpn was assessed in paternal spermatozoa and in the cerebral cortices of deaf mice. EtOH affected methylation of Peg3 （CpG 3, 7 and 9） in paternal spermatozoa and in the cerebral cortices of deaf mice, but the level of mRNA expression did not change, suggesting that other gene regulation may be involved in these processes. Overall, chronic paternal ethanol exposure could alter the methylation of imprinted genes in sire spermatozoa that could also be passed on to offspring, giving rise to developmental disorders. Our results provide possible epigenetic evidence for a paternal ethanol exposure contribution to Fetal Alcohol Syndrome （FAS）.

Omicron variant has been the dominant epidemic variant of novel coronavirus in the world since *** have shown that the incidence of severe or critical cases with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is much lower than that of the previous novel coronavirus variants[1,2];however,it is still a major challenge to treat critical pediatric patients with COVID-19,especially for those with underlying diseases.
