Cardiovascular complications of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)threaten the health and life of numerous individuals.Recently,growth factor receptor-binding protein 10(GRB10)was found to play a pivotal role in vascular complications of T2DM,which participates in the regulation of lipid metabolism of T2DM patients.The genetic variation of GRB10 rs1800504 is closely related to the risk of coronary heart disease in patients with T2DM.The development of GRB10 as a key mediator in the association of lipid metabolism with cardiovascular complications in T2DM is detailed in and may provide new potential concerns for the study of cardiovascular complications in T2DM patients.

BACKGROUND Wuzhuyu decoction,a traditional Chinese medicinal formula,is effective in treating hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).AIM To explore the potential mechanism of action of Wuzhuyu decoction against HCC.METHODS The active components of each Chinese herbal medicinal ingredient in Wuzhuyu decoction and their targets were obtained from the Traditional Chinese Medicine Database and Analysis Platform.HCC was used as a search query in GeneCards,Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man,Malacards,DisGeNET,Therapeutic Target Database,and Comparative Toxicogenomics Database.The overlapping targets of the Wuzhuyu decoction and HCC were defined,and then protein-protein interaction,Gene Ontology,and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analyses were performed.CytoHubba was used to select hub genes,and their binding activities and key active components were verified using molecular docking.RESULTS A total of 764 compounds,77 active compounds,and 204 potential target genes were identified in Wuzhuyu decoction.For HCC,9468 potential therapeutic target genes were identified by combining the results from the six databases and removing duplicates.A total of 179 overlapping targets of Wuzhuyu decoction and HCC were defined,including 10 hub genes(tumor necrosis factor,interleukin-6,AKT1,TP53,caspase-3,mitogen-activated protein kinase 1,epidermal growth factor receptor,MYC,mitogen-activated protein kinase 8,and JUN).There were six main active components(quercetin,kaempferol,ginsenoside Rh2,rutaecarpine,β-carotene,andβ-sitosterol)that may act on hub genes to treat HCC in Wuzhuyu decoction.Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analysis mainly involved the mitogen-activated protein kinase,p53,phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase-Akt,Janus kinase-signal transducer of activators of transcription,and Hippo signaling pathways.Further verification based on molecular docking results showed that the small molecule compounds(quercetin,kaempferol,ginsenoside Rh2,rutaecarpine,β-carotene,andβ-sitosterol)co

(Multichannel) Singular spectrum analysis is considered as one of the most effective methods for seismic incoherent noise suppression. It utilizes the low-rank feature of seismic signal and regards the noise suppression as a low-rank reconstruction problem. However, in some cases the seismic geophones receive some erratic disturbances and the amplitudes are dramatically larger than other receivers. The presence of this kind of noise, called erratic noise, makes singular spectrum analysis(SSA) reconstruction unstable and has undesirable effects on the final results. We robustify the low-rank reconstruction of seismic data by a reweighted damped SSA(RD-SSA) method. It incorporates the damped SSA, an improved version of SSA, into a reweighted framework. The damping operator is used to weaken the artificial disturbance introduced by the low-rank projection of both erratic and random noise. The central idea of the RD-SSA method is to iteratively approximate the observed data with the quadratic norm for the first iteration and the Tukeys bisquare norm for the rest iterations. The RD-SSA method can suppress seismic incoherent noise and keep the reconstruction process robust to the erratic disturbance. The feasibility of RD-SSA is validated via both synthetic and field data examples.

Menasco showed that a closed incompressible surface in the complement of a non-split prime alternating link in S^(3) contains a circle isotopic in the link complement to a meridian of the links.Based on this result,he was able to argue the hyperbolicity of non-split prime alternating links in S3.Adams et al.showed that if F■S×I\L is an essential torus,then F contains a circle which is isotopic in S×I\L to a meridian of L.The author generalizes his result as follows:Let S be a closed orientable surface,L be a fully alternating link in S×I\If F ■ S×I\L is a closed essential surface,then F contains a circle which is isotopic in S×I\L to a meridian of L.

Adversarial training with online-generated adversarial examples has achieved promising performance in defending adversarial attacks and improving robustness of convolutional neural network models.However,most existing adversarial training methods are dedicated to finding strong adversarial examples for forcing the model to learn the adversarial data distribution,which inevitably imposes a large computational overhead and results in a decrease in the generalization performance on clean data.In this paper,we show that progressively enhancing the adversarial strength of adversarial examples across training epochs can effectively improve the model robustness,and appropriate model shifting can preserve the generalization performance of models in conjunction with negligible computational cost.To this end,we propose a successive perturbation generation scheme for adversarial training(SPGAT),which progressively strengthens the adversarial examples by adding the perturbations on adversarial examples transferred from the previous epoch and shifts models across the epochs to improve the efficiency of adversarial training.The proposed SPGAT is both efficient and effective;e.g.,the computation time of our method is 900 min as against the 4100 min duration observed in the case of standard adversarial training,and the performance boost is more than 7%and 3%in terms of adversarial accuracy and clean accuracy,respectively.We extensively evaluate the SPGAT on various datasets,including small-scale MNIST,middle-scale CIFAR-10,and large-scale CIFAR-100.The experimental results show that our method is more efficient while performing favorably against state-of-the-art methods.

The printed circuit heat exchanger(PCHE) is receiving wide attention as a new kind of compact heat exchanger and is considered as a promising vaporizer in the LNG process. In this paper, a PCHE straight channel in the length of 500 mm is established, with a semicircular cross section in a diameter of 1.2 mm.Numerical simulation is employed to investigate the flow and heat transfer performance of supercritical methane in the channel. The pseudo-boiling theory is adopted and the liquid-like, two-phase-like, and vapor-like regimes are divided for supercritical methane to analyze the heat transfer and flow features.The results are presented in micro segment to show the local convective heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop. It shows that the convective heat transfer coefficient in segments along the channel has a significant peak feature near the pseudo-critical point and a heat transfer deterioration when the average fluid temperature in the segment is higher than the pseudo-critical point. The reason is explained with the generation of vapor-like film near the channel wall that the peak feature related to a nucleateboiling-like state and heat transfer deterioration related to a film-boiling-like state. The effects of parameters, including mass flow rate, pressure, and wall heat flux on flow and heat transfer were analyzed.In calculating of the averaged heat transfer coefficient of the whole channel, the traditional method shows significant deviation and the micro segment weighted average method is adopted. The pressure drop can mainly be affected by the mass flux and pressure and little affected by the wall heat flux. The peak of the convective heat transfer coefficient can only form at high mass flux, low wall heat flux, and near critical pressure, in which condition the nucleate-boiling-like state is easier to appear. Moreover,heat transfer deterioration will always appear, since the supercritical flow will finally develop into a filmboiling-like state. So heat transfer deterioration should be taken serious

Fabricating low-strain and fast-charging silicon-carbon composite anodes is highly desired but remains a huge challenge for lithium-ion batteries.Herein,we report a unique silicon-carbon composite fabricated by uniformly dis-persing amorphous Si nanodots(SiNDs)in carbon nanospheres(SiNDs/C)that are welded on the wall of the macroporous carbon framework(MPCF)by vertical graphene(VG),labeled as MPCF@VG@SiNDs/C.The high dispersity and amor-phous features of ultrasmall SiNDs(~0.7 nm),the flexible and directed electron/Li+transport channels of VG,and the MPCF impart the MPCF@VG@SiNDs/C more lithium storage sites,rapid Li+transport path,and unique low-strain property during Li+storage.Consequently,the MPCF@VG@SiNDs/C exhibits high cycle stability(1301.4 mAh g^(-1) at 1 A g^(-1) after 1000 cycles without apparent decay)and high rate capacity(910.3 mAh g^(-1),20 A g^(-1))in half cells based on industrial electrode standards.The assembled pouch full cell delivers a high energy density(1694.0 Wh L^(-1);602.8 Wh kg^(-1))and an excellent fast-charging capability(498.5 Wh kg^(-1),charging for 16.8 min at 3 C).This study opens new possibilities for preparing advanced silicon-carbon com-posite anodes for practical applications.

Influence of co-firing rate on SO 2 emission from co-firing municipal solid waste(MSW) and bituminous containing high amount of sulfur(1.79%) was studied in a 0.15 MWt circulating fluidized bed(CFB). The temperature selected is 1123 K, typical for MSW incineration using CFB. The particle concentration in the dilution zone of the furnace, the alkali metal concentration and sulfate concentration in the recirculating ash and fly ash, and flue gas composition were determined. The results showed that the addition of MSW leads to a significant decrease in SO 2 emission. Concentration of SO 2 in flue gas decreased to 0 with the co-firing rate greater than 51%. This reduction in SO 2 emission is attributed both to the high particle concentration in the dilution zone of the furnace, the high content of alkali metals in the bed material, and to the comparatively high concentration of HCl in flue gas during co-firing of MSW and bituminous.

Immune checkpoint blockade(ICB)therapy for cancer has achieved great success both in clinical results and on the market.At the same time,success drives more attention from scientists to improve it.However,only a small portion of patients are responsive to this therapy,and it comes with a unique spectrum of side effects termed immunerelated adverse events(irAEs).The use of nanotechnology could improve ICBs’delivery to the tumor,assist them in penetrating deeper into tumor tissues and alleviate their irAEs.Liposomal nanomedicine has been investigated and used for decades,and is well-recognized as the most successful nano-drug delivery system.The successful combination of ICB with liposomal nanomedicine could help improve the efficacy of ICB therapy.In this review,we highlighted recent studies using liposomal nanomedicine(including new emerging exosomes and their inspired nanovesicles)in associating ICB therapy.
