Review on hidden trouble detection and health diagnosis of hydraulic concrete structures

A large number of hydraulic concrete structures have hidden defects such as cracks, erosion, freeze and thaw, thermal fatigue, carbonization. These hidden defects seriously affect the strength, stability and durability of structures. These problems are studied mainly by single monitoring or diagnosis methods at present. The integration of multiple monitoring and diagnosis methods is not applied widely. Besides, the analysis theory on these problems is not developed very well. The systemic study on the aging mechanism of hydraulic concrete structures, time- variation model and health diagnosis is still not enough. The support for engineering practice is limited. Aimed at these major scientific and technological problems and combined with specific projects, study on detection of hidden defects and health diagnosis of hydraulic concrete structure has been carried out. This study includes the following content: field non-destructive examination of hidden defects of hydraulic concrete structures, seepage detection, the construction of in-situ sensing system, the combination of field detection and in-situ monitoring, the mechanism of crack, freeze and thaw, erosion and carbonization of hydraulic concrete structure, mechanism of combination aging; time-variation model of hydraulic concrete structure, theories and methods for health diagnosis of hydraulic concrete structures.

Oyster(Crassostrea gigas),the main ingredient of oyster sauce,has a strong umami *** this study,three potential umami peptides,FLNQDEEAR(FR-9),FNKEE(FE-5),and EEFLK(EK-5),were identified and screened from the alcoholic extracts of the oyster using nano-HPLC-MS/MS analysis,i Umami-Scoring Card Method(i Umami-SCM)database and molecular docking(MD).Sensory evaluation and electronic tongue analysis were further used to confirm their *** threshold of the three peptides ranged from 0.38 to 0.55 mg/m *** with umami receptors T1R1/T1R3 indicated that the electrostatic interaction and hydrogen bond interaction were the main forces ***,the Phe592.and Gln853 of T1R3 were the primary docking site for MD and played an important role in umami *** with two Glu residues at the terminus had stronger umami,especially at the *** results contribute to the understanding of umami peptides in oysters and the interaction mechanism between umami peptides and umami receptors.

CHANGES OF PAN EVAPORATION IN THE UPPER REACH OF THE YANGTZE RIVER

The upper reach of the Yangtze River, 4 511 km long from west to east, contains a great amount of water resources of the Yangtze River Basin. This article studies the characteristics of the pan evaporation, the related meteorological variables, and their effects on the pan evaporation, based on the data of the daily pan evaporation （1980-2.08） and other meteorological variables （1961-2.08）. The results show that the linear trend of the pan evaporation has remarkable regional features, i.e., the decrease trend in the southwest and the increase trend in the northeast of the investigated region, and the Yangtze River is approximately the boundary of these trends. The meteorological variables have different effects on the pan evaporation depending on the fact that they are in the category the thermal variables or the dynamic variables. The thermal meteorological variables （i.e., air temperature, diurnal temperature range, and sunshine duration） have positive partial correlations with the pan evaporation, while the dynamic ones （air pressure, rainfall, and relateive humidity） have negative correlations with the pan evaporation. The correlation of the wind speed remains to be investigated.

The hydrodynamics of a single jet and four tandem jets in a cross flow are simulated by using the Computational Fluid Dynamics （CFD） software Fluent. The realizable model is used to close the Reynolds-Averaged equations. The flow characteristics of the jets, including the jet trajectory, the velocity field and the turbulent kinetic energy are obtained with various jet-to-cross flow velocity ratios in the range of 2.38-17.88. It is shown that a single jet penetrates slightly deeper than the first jet in a jet group at the same , although the difference decreases with the decrease of . It is also found that the way in which the velo-city decays along the centerline of the jet is similar for both a single jet and the first jet in a group, and the speed of the decay increases with the decrease of . The downstream jets in a group are found to behave differently due to the sheltering effect of the first jet in the group. Compared with the first jet, the downstream jets penetrate deeper into the cross flow, and the velocity decays more slowly. The circulation zone between the two upstream jets in the front is stronger than those formed between the downstream jets. The Turbulent Kinetic Energy （TKE） sees a distinct double-peak across the cross-sections close to each nozzle, with low values in the jet core and high values in the shear layers. The double-peak gradually vanishes, as the shear layers of the jet merge further away from the nozzle, where the TKE assumes peaks at the jet centerline.

Arch dam deformation is comprehensively affected by water pressure,temperature,dam's structural behavior and material properties as well as other *** them the water pressure and temperature are external factors(source factors) that cause dam deformation,and dam's structural behavior and material properties are the internal factors of deformation(resistance factors).The dam deformation is the result of the mutual game playing between source factors and resistance ***,resistance factors of structure and materials that reflect resistance character of arch dam structure are introduced into the traditional model,where structure factor is embodied by the flexibility coefficient of dam body and the maximum dam height,and material property is embodied by the elastic modulus of *** the basis of analyzing the correlation between dam deformation and resistance factors,the game model of safety monitoring for arch dam deformation is put forward.

Zinc-air batteries(ZABs)are promising energy storage systems because of high theoretical energy density,safety,low cost,and abundance of ***,the slow multi-step reaction of oxygen and heavy reliance on noble-metal catalysts hinder the practical applications of ***,feasible and advanced non-noble-metal elec-trocatalysts for air cathodes need to be identified to promote the oxygen catalytic *** this review,we initially introduced the advancement of ZABs in the past two decades and provided an overview of key developments in this ***,we discussed the work-ing mechanism and the design of bifunctional electrocatalysts from the perspective of morphology design,crystal structure tuning,interface strategy,and atomic *** also included theoretical studies,machine learning,and advanced characterization technologies to provide a comprehensive understanding of the structure-performance relationship of electrocatalysts and the reaction pathways of the oxygen redox ***,we discussed the challenges and prospects related to designing advanced non-noble-metal bifunctional electrocatalysts for ZABs.

Very low frequency(VLF)signals are propagated between the *** interference will cause the phase to show oscillatory changes with distance while propagating at night,leading to abnormalities in the received VLF *** study uses the VLF signal received in Qingdao City,Shandong Province,from the Russian Alpha navigation system to explore the multimode interference problem of VLF signal *** characteristics of the effect of multimode interference phenomena on the phase are analyzed according to the variation of the phase of the VLF ***,the phase of VLF signals will also be affected by the X-ray and energetic particles that are released during the eruption of solar flares,therefore the two phenomena are studied in this *** is concluded that the X-ray will not affect the phase of VLF signals at night,but the energetic particles will affect the phase change,and the influence of energetic particles should be excluded in the study of multimode interference *** VLF signals for navigation positioning in degraded or unavailable GPS conditions is of great practical significance for VLF navigation systems as it can avoid the influence of multimode interference and improve positioning accuracy.

Channel confluences are universally present in nature. They can be divided into two types： asymmetrical river confluences and symmetric river confluences. The latter is also called as the Y-shaped confluences. Most of previous work has paid more attention to the asymmetrical river confluences, but few studies have been conducted on the Y-shaped confluences. In this article, the effects of bed discordance on the flow patterns at ＂Y＂ shaped open-channel confluences were studied by using a 3-D numerical simulation. It is proved that the model can undertake quantitative assessment of the flow at confluences. The results indicate that there are a lot of differences between the Y-shaped confluence and asymmetrical confluence. The discordant bed height plays an important role at the Y-shaped junction.
