Association of a terpyridine ligand with lanthanide and copper(Ⅱ) nitrates

Reactions between the 1,3-bis(6-methylpyridin-2-yl) pyridine ligand L,C17H15N3 and LnIII(1a,1b,1c,1d) or a mixture of LnIII and CuII nitrates(2a,2b,2c,2d) resulted in a series of respectively novel mono-and heterodinuclea r complexes,where LnIII=Sm(a) ,Eu(b) ,Tb(c) ,Dy(d) . The compounds were char acterized by elemental analysis,ESI-MS and IR spectra,furthermore we obtained crystals of [H2L][Eu(NO3) 5](1b) and [CuL2][Eu(NO3) 5](2b) suitable for XRD char acterization. In the crystal structures the Eu ions are 10-coordinated with quit e a narrow range of Eu-O distances which are between 0.2436 and 0.2556 nm. In 1b the ligand molecule is protonated in both terminal rings,and the N-H groups ar e involved in the N-H…O hydrogen bonds with the same oxygen atom of one of the nitro groups. These hydrogen bonds connect the ions in 1b into the complex which is the principal building block of the structure. In 2b the [CuL2]2+ counterion s are present;the Cu is octahedrally coordinated by all nitrogen iatoms of two L molecules which are therefore almost perpendicular to each other. The electros tatic interactions between the charged species are in both cases the main drivin g force of the crystal packing.

Inductively coupled power transfer systems (ICPT) are becoming ubiquitous in industry. Many such systems are excited with single or multi-phase input current. This leads to increased complexity in comparing such systems when solely using the magnetic frequency analysis. This paper utilizes modern finite element method analysis software to propose a novel software methodology for the numerical comparison of single and two phase ICPT systems as demonstrated on a three dimensional (3D) battery charging system. The sinusoidal magnetic frequency response of a single phase system is compared to the magnetic transient response of a multi-phase current system by use of a novel software methodology proposed in this paper. This consists of a transient response analysis to determine compute the resulting magnetic response over the duration of an input current period on the two phase system. The resulting non-sinusoidal response is then integrated over a whole period to extract the root-mean-square value for comparison with that of a single phase system across a 3D cubic power zone.

P2X7 purinoceptor promotes survival or cytotoxicity depending on extraceUular adenosine triphosphate （ATP） stimulus Intensity controlling its ion channel or P2X7-dependent large pore （LP） functions. Mechanisms governing this operational divergence and functional idiosyncrasy are ill-understood. We have discovered a feedback loop where sustained activation of P2X7 triggers release of active matrix metalloproteinase 2 （MMP-2）, which halts ion channel and LP responses via the MMP-2-dependent receptor cleavage. This mechanism operates in cells as diverse as macrophages, dystrophic myoblasts, P2X7-transfected HEK293, and human tumour cells. Given that serum-born MMP-2 activity also blocked receptor functions, P2X7 responses in vivo may decrease in organs with permeable capillaries. Therefore, this mechanism represents an Important fine-tuning of P2X7 functions, reliant on both cell-autonomous and extraneous factors. Indeed, it allowed evasion from the ATP-induced cvtotoxicity in macrophages and human cancer ceils with high P2X7 expression levels. Finally, we demonstrate that P2X7 ablation eliminated getatinase activity in inflamed dystrophic muscles in vivo. Thus, P2X7 antagonists could be used as an alternative to highly toxic MMP inhibitors in treatments of inflammatory diseases and cancers.

AIM:To evaluate the use of the Roux loop on the postoperative course in patients submitted for gastroenteroanastomosis(GE).METHODS:Non-jaundiced patients(n=41)operated on in the Department of General and Transplant Surgery in Lodz,between January 2010 and December 2011 were *** tumor was considered unresectable when liver metastases or major vascular involvement were *** were randomized to receive Roux(n=21)or conventional GE(n=20)on a prophylactic ***:The mean time to nasogastric tube withdrawal in Roux GE group was shorter(1.4±0.75 vs2.8±1.1,P<0.001).Time to starting oral liquids,soft diet and regular diet were decreased(2.3±0.86 vs 3.45±1.19;P<0.001;3.3±0.73 vs 4.4±1.23,P<0.001and 4.5±0.76 vs 5.6±1.42,P=0.002;respectively).The Roux GE group had a lower use of prokinetics(10mg thrice daily for 2.2±1.8 d vs 3.7±2.6 d,P=0.044;total 62±49 mg vs 111±79 mg,P=0.025).The mean hospitalization time following Roux GE was shorter(7.7 d vs 9.6 d,P=0.006).Delayed gastric emptying(DGE)was confirmed in 20%after conventional GE but in none of the patients following Roux ***:Roux gastrojejunostomy during open abdomen exploration in patients with unresectable pancreatic cancer is easy to perform,decreases the incidence of DGE and lowers hospitalization time.

＜正＞A novel model of hygrothermal performance of cement based building materials during their maturing,considering evolution of their strength properties and deformations（shrinkage and creep strains）,described in terms of effective stress is briefly *** is described by means of the modified microprestress-solidification theory by Bazant et al.,with some modifications to take into account the effects of temperature and relative humidity on the cement hydration. Shrinkage strains are modelled by using effective stresses in the form introduced by Gray and Schrefler, giving a good agreement with experimental data also for low values of relative *** of two numerical examples based on the real experimental tests are solved to validate the model. They demonstrate its possibilities to analyze both autogenous deformations in maturing cementitious materials,and creep and shrinkage phenomena,in building elements of different age,sealed or drying at various conditions.
