SnO_(2)/Graphene Composite with High Lithium Storage Capability for Lithium Rechargeable Batteries

SnO_(2)/graphene nanocomposites have been fabricated by a simple chemical *** the fabrication process,the control of surface charge causes echinoid-like SnO_(2)nanoparticles to be formed and uniformly decorated on the *** electrostatic attraction between a graphene nanosheet(GNS)and the echinoid-like SnO_(2)particles under controlled pH creates a unique nanostructure in which extremely small SnO_(2)particles are uniformly dispersed on the *** SnO_(2)/graphene nanocomposite has been shown to perform as a high capacity anode with good cycling behavior in lithium rechargeable *** anode retained a reversible capacity of 634 mA·h·g^(–1)with a coulombic efficiency of 98%after 50 *** high reversibility can be attributed to the mechanical buffering by the GNS against the large volume change of SnO_(2)during delithiation/lithiation ***,the power capability is significantly enhanced due to the nanostructure,which enables facile electron transport through the GNS and fast delithiation/lithiation reactions within the echinoid-like nano-SnO_(2).The route suggested here for the fabrication of SnO_(2)/graphene hybrid materials is a simple economical route for the preparation of other graphene-based hybrid materials which can be employed in many different fields.

Metastatic pancreatic solitary fibrous tumor: A case report

BACKGROUND Solitary fibrous tumor(SFT)is a rare mesenchymal tumor that is most commonly found in the pleura but can also originate from non-pleural *** the nonpleural localizations,the pancreas is extremely *** particular,metastasis to the pancreas from the central nervous system(CNS)is extremely rare,with only two cases reported so *** report a case of recurrence in the pancreas 14 years after the initial complete surgical removal of a tumor in the *** SUMMARY A 68-year-old man with a past medical history of recurrent meningeal hemangiopericytoma,currently referred to as SFT,presented to the hospital with *** patient was first diagnosed with an 8cm-sized meningeal hemangiopericytoma fourteen years ago and underwent osteoplastic *** 16 mo,imaging showed recurrence and he underwent gamma knife radiosurgery(GKRS).2 years later,imaging showed recurrence again leading to a second GKRS.5 years later,recurrence was again suspected leading to a second *** then 3 years had passed,and imaging showed a 3.5cm-sized mass lesion on the pancreatic head with obstruction of the pancreatic and bile *** with fine-needle aspiration biopsy was done preoperatively and aided in the diagnosis of *** patient underwent pyloruspreserving *** findings of the resected pancreatic specimen,consistent with the previously resected brain specimen,confirmed the diagnosis of *** The rarity and lack of knowledge about SFTs make suspecting and diagnosing this disease *** believe that a report of metastatic pancreatic SFT from the CNS will contribute to a better understanding of this rare disease.

Advanced heterolytic H_(2) adsorption of K-added Ru/MgO catalysts for accelerating hydrogen storage into aromatic benzyltoluenes

Herein,we report a highly active K-added Ru/MgO catalyst for hydrogen storage into aromatic benzyltoluenes at low temperatures to advance liquid organic hydrogen carrier *** hydrogenation activity of Ru/K/MgO catalysts exhibits a volcano-shaped dependence on the K content at the maximum with 0.02 wt%.This is in good agreement with the strength and capacity of H_(2) adsorption derived from basicity,despite a gradual decrease in the textural property and the corresponding increase in the Ru particle size with increasing the K *** functional theory calculations show that heterolytic hydrogen adsorption properties(strength and polarization)are facilitated up to a specific density of K on the Ru–MgO interface and excessive K suppresses heterolytic H_(2) adsorption by direct interaction between K and hydrogen,assuring the hydrogenation activity and H_(2) adsorption capability of Ru/K/MgO ***,the Ru/K/MgO catalyst,when K is added in an optimal amount,is highly effective to accelerate hydrogen storage kinetics at low temperatures owing to the enhanced heterolytic H_(2) adsorption.

Authentication mechanism for fast handoff in cdma2000-WiBro interworking

In this paper, we propose the authentication mechanism for a handoff in cdma2000-WiBro interworking environment. In the interworking environment, the handoff procedure requires the authentication on MS for the access control and the accounting. In the handoff procedure, it is required to perform the EAP-AKA authentication process with cdma2000-HN (home network) because TN (target network) does not have the information for the authentication about MS. This process has relatively long delay. Therefore, the fast handoff authentication mechanism for reducing the long delay in the handoff procedure is needed. Thus this paper proposes the handoff authentication method of using the reactive context transfer and ticket forwarding method, to provide the fast handoff in cdma2000-WiBro interworking environment. The proposed scheme satisfies security requirements on handoff and has the advantage of low signaling overhead in handoff authentication.

Parametric study on hydraulic performance of an inlet plenum in a printed-circuit heat exchanger

Hydraulic performance of an inlet plenum in a printed-circuit heat exchanger has been analyzed using three-dimensional Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes equations. The numerical model of the inlet plenum was constructed through grid dependency test, calculation domain tests, and turbulence model and numerical scheme selections. Shear stress transport turbulence model was used for analysis of turbulence. Non-uniformity of the flow in zigzag flow channels was evaluated for the reference case. Parametric studies have been performed with the angle of the inlet plenum wall, radius of curvature of the inlet plenum wall, and width of the inlet pipes. The effects of these parameters on the flow uniformity and friction performance were evaluated.

Evaluation of lubrication performance of crank pin bearing in a marine diesel engine

In this study, the lubrication performance of the crank pin bearing in a marine two–stroke diesel engine is evaluated to investigate the adhesional failure on the crank pin bearing. A numerical algorithm for the lubrication analysis considering motion analysis of the crank pin system is developed. The film pressure and thickness for three clearances and three lubricant temperatures are calculated. The results show that the lubricant temperature has a higher effect on film thickness than clearance. In terms of the film parameter, the operating condition that can result in solid–solid contact is investigated. We also suggest the desirable operating conditions of clearance and lubricant temperature to prevent the solid–solid contact.

A case of postoperative spontaneous intussusception after laparoscopic low anterior resection for rectal cancer

Background:Intussusception refers to a condition in which a segment of the intestine invaginates into the lumen of an adjacent segment of the *** intussusception after gastrointestinal surgery is an uncommon clinical condition,and there is only one case report of small bowel intussusception after rectal cancer ***,we report a case of spontaneous small bowel intussusception following laparoscopic total mesorectal excision for rectal *** presentation:A 56-year-old female military officer was referred to the Colorectal Surgical Department for midrectal cancer,8cm from the anal *** patient underwent laparoscopic low anterior resection and diverting loop *** postoperative day 3,the patient complained of vomiting and abdominal pain,and a follow-up abdomino-pelvic computed tomography scan showed an ileo-ileal type *** two days of surgical observation,the clinical symptoms were not *** patient underwent exploratory *** exploration,intussusception was found 40 cm proximal to the loop ileostomy *** resection of the ileum was carried out,and there was no pathological leading point on the resected *** patient was discharged on postoperative day 14 after the second operation and has remained in good health for two ***:We present a case of spontaneous small bowel intussusception after laparoscopic total mesorectal excision for rectal cancer that was treated by surgical resection 5 days after the index surgery.

A taxonomic framework for autonomous service management in Service-Oriented Architecture

Since Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) reveals the black box nature of services,heterogeneity,service dynamism,and service evolvability,managing services is known to be a challenging *** computing (AC) is a way of designing systems that can manage themselves without direct human ***,applying the key disciplines of AC to service management is appealing.A key task of service management is to identify probable causes for symptoms detected and to devise actuation methods that can remedy the *** SOA,there are a number of target elements for service remedies,and there can be a number of causes associated with each target ***,there is not yet a comprehensive taxonomy of causes that is widely *** lack of cause taxonomy results in the limited possibility of remedying the problems in an autonomic *** this paper,we first present a meta-model,extract all target elements for service fault management,and present a computing model for autonomously managing service *** we define fault taxonomy for each target element and inter-relationships among the ***,we show prototype implementation using cause taxonomy and conduct experiments with the prototype for validating its applicability and effectiveness.

Imidazole linker‐induced covalent triazine framework-ZIF hybrids for confined hollow carbon super‐heterostructures toward a long‐life supercapacitor

Carbon super-heterostructures with high nitrogen contents from the covalent hybrid precursors of covalent triazine frameworks(CTFs)and zeolitic imidazolic frameworks(ZIFs)are scarcely explored because of CTF's ordered structure and toxic superacid that dissolves or destabilizes the metal *** solve this problem,herein,we report a straightforward two-step pathway for the covalent hybridization of disordered CTF(d–CTF)–ZIF composites via preincorporation of an imidazole(IM)linker into ordered CTFs,followed by the imidazole-site-specific covalent growth of *** carbonization of these synthesized d–CTF−IM−ZIF hybrids results in unique hollow carbon super-heterostructures with ultrahigh nitrogen content(>18.6%),high specific surface area(1663m^(2)g^(−1)),and beneficial trace metal(Co/Zn NPs)contents for promoting the redox *** proof of concept,the obtained carbon super-heterostructure(Co–Zn–NC_(SNH)–800)is used as a positive electrode in an asymmetric supercapacitor,demonstrating a remarkable energy density of 61Wh kg^(−1)and extraordinary cyclic stability of 97%retention after 30,000 cycles at the cell *** presynthetic modifications of CTF and their covalent hybridization with ZIF crystals pave the way toward new design strategies for synthesizing functional porous carbon materials for promising energy applications.

Two-dimensional （2D） crystals have a multitude of forms, including semi-metals, semiconductors, and insulators, which are ideal for assembling isolated 2D atomic materials to create van der Waals （vdW） heterostructures. Recently, artificially-stacked materials have been considered promising candidates for nanoelectronic and optoelectronic applications. In this study, we report the vertical integration of layered structures for the fabrication of prototype non-volatile memory devices. A semiconducting-tungsten-disulfide-channel-based memory device is created by sandwiching high-density-of-states multi-layered graphene as a carrier-confining layer between tunnel barriers of hexagonal boron nitride （hBN） and silicon dioxide. The results reveal that a memory window of up to 20 V is opened, leading to a high current ratio （〉103） between programming and erasing states. The proposed design combination produced layered materials that allow devices to attain perfect retention at 13% charge loss after 10 years, offering new possibilities for the integration of transparent, flexible electronic systems.
