Objective:To evaluate the existing randomized controlled trials(RCTs)for evidence of the efficacy and safety of head acupuncture(HA)plus Schuell’s language rehabilitation(SLR)in post-stroke ***:Seven databases including Embase,PubMed,Cochrane Library,Technology Periodical Database,the China National Knowledge Infrastructure,SinoMed and wanfang Data Information Site were searched for RCTs published from database inception until November 14,*** that compared HA plus SLR with sham(or blank)control,acupuncture therapy alone,certain language rehabilitation therapy alone or other therapies for post-stroke aphasia were *** were extracted and assessed,and the quality of RCTs was ***-effects model was used,with meta-influence analysis,meta-regression,and regression-based sub-group analyses applied for exploration of *** bias was estimated by funnel plots and Egger’s ***:A total of 32 RCTs with1,968 patients were included and 51 comparisons were conducted classified as types of strokes and aphasia.(1)For patients with aphasia after ischemic stroke,HA plus PSA showed significantly higher accumulative markedly effective rate[relative risk(RR)=1.55,95% confidence interval(CI):1.19-2.02,I^(2)=0%]and accumulative effective rate(RR=1.22,95%CI:1.09-1.36,I^(2)=0%).(2)For patients with comprehensive types of stroke,HA plus PSA was more effective in increasing recovery rate(RR=1.89,95%CI:1.39-2.56,I^(2)=0%),accumulative markedly effective rate(RR=1.53,95%CI:1.36-1.72,I^(2)=9%)and accumulative effective rate(RR=1.14,95%CI:1.09-1.19,I^(2)=34%).(3)For patients with aphasia after stroke,HA plus PSA was superior to PSA alone with statistical significance in increasing recovery rate(RR=2.08,95%CI:1.24-3.46,I^(2)=0%),accumulative markedly effective rate(RR=1049,95%CI:1.24-1.78,I^(2)=0%)and accumulative effective rate(RR=1.15,95%CI:1.06-1.24,12=39%).(4)For patients with multiple types of aphasia,HA plus PSA also demonstrat

In this study, we investigated the effects of exogenous calcium nitrate on photoinhibition and thylakoid protein level in peanut plants under heat （40 ℃） and high irradiance （HI）（1,200 mmol/m2 per s） stress. Compared with control seedlings （cultivated in 0 mmol/L Ca（NO3）2 medium）, the maximal photochemical efficiency of photosystem II （PSII） in Ca2t‐treated plants showed a slight decrease after 5 h stress, accompanied by lower degree of PSII closure （1‐qP）, higher non‐photochemical quenching, and lower level of membrane damage. Ca2t inhibitors were used to analyze the varieties of antioxidant enzymes activity and PSII proteins. These results indicated that Ca2t could protect the subunits of PSII reaction centers from photoinhibition by reducing the generation of reactive oxygen species. In the presence of both ethyleneglycol‐bis（2‐aminoethylether）‐tetraacetic acid and ascorbic acid （AsA）, the net degradation of the damaged D1 protein was faster than that only treated with AsA. Our previous study showed that either the transcriptional or the translational level of calmodulin was obviously higher in Ca2t‐treated plants. These results suggested that, under＆amp;nbsp;heat and HI stress, the Ca2t signal transduction pathway can al eviate the photoinhibition through regulating the protein repair process besides an enhanced capacity for scavenging reactive oxygen species.

Fly ash is a hazardous byproduct of municipal solid wastes incineration （MSWI）. An alkali activated blast fumace slag-based cementifious material was used to stabilize/solidify the fly ash at experimental level. The characteristics of the stabilized/solidified fly ash, including metal leachability, mineralogical characteristics and the distributions of metals in matrices, were tested by toxic characteristic leaching procedure （TCLP）, X-ray diffrac- tion （XRD） and scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectrometer （SEM-EDS） respectively. Contin- uous acid extraction was utilized to extract metal ions and characterize their leaching behavior. The stabilization/ solidification procedure for MSWI fly ash demonstrates a strong fixing capacity for the metals by the formation of C- S-H phase, hydrated calcium aluminosilicate and ettringite. The stabilized/solidified fly ash shows a dense and homogeneous microstructure. Cr is mainly solidified in hydrated calcium aluminosilicate, C-S-H and ettringite phase through physical encapsulation, precipitation, adsorption or substitution mechanisms, and Pb is mainly solidified in C-S-H phase and absorbed in the Si-O structure.

Objective: To investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying the beneficial effect of electroacupuncture(EA) in experimental models of Alzheimer’s disease(AD) in vivo. Methods: Senescenceaccelerated mouse prone 8(SAMP8) mice were used as AD models and received EA at Yingxiang(LI 20, bilateral) and Yintang(GV 29) points for 20 days. For certain experiments, SAMP8 mice were injected intravenously with human fibrin(2 mg). The Morris water maze test was used to assess cognitive and memory abilities. The changes of tight junctions of blood-brain barrier(BBB) in mice were observed by transmission electron microscope. The expressions of fibrin, amyloid-β(Aβ), and ionized calcium-binding adapter molecule 1(IBa-1) in mouse hippocampus(CA1/CA3) were detected by reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR), Western blot or immunohistochemical staining. The expression of fibrin in mouse plasma was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The expressions of tight junction proteins zonula occludens-1 and claudin-5 in hippocampus were detected by qRT-PCR and immunofluorescence *** of hippocampal neurons was detected by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labeling(TUNEL) staining. Results: Fibrin was time-dependently deposited in the hippocampus of SAMP8mice and this was inhibited by EA treatment(P<0.05 or P<0.01). Furthermore, EA treatment suppressed the accumulation of Aβ in the hippocampus of SAMP8 mice(P<0.01), which was reversed by fibrin injection(P<0.05 or P<0.01). EA improved SAMP8 mice cognitive impairment and BBB permeability(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Moreover, EA decreased reactive oxygen species levels and neuroinflammation in the hippocampus of SAMP8mice, which was reversed by fibrin injection(P<0.05 or P<0.01). Colorectal cancer(CRC)is the third most common and the second most fatal *** recent years,more attention has been directed toward the role of gut microbiota in the initiation and development of *** bacterial species,such as Fusobacterium nucleatum,Escherichia coli,Bacteroides fragilis,Enterococcus faecalis,and Salmonella *** been associated with CRC,based upon sequencing studies in CRC patients and functional studies in cell culture and animal *** bacteria can cause host DNA damage by genotoxic substances,including colibactin secreted by pks+Escherichia coli,*** toxin(BFT)produced by Bacteroides fragilis,and typhoid toxin(TT)from *** bacteria can also indirectly promote CRC by influencing host-signaling pathways,such as E-cadherin/β-catenin,TLR4/MYD88/NF-κB,and SMO/RAS/p38 ***,some of these bacteria can contribute to CRC progression by helping tumor cells to evade the immune response by suppressing immune cell function,creating a proinflammatory environment,or influencing the autophagy *** with the classical antibacterial drugs,metronidazole or erythromycin,the antibacterial active ingredients,M13@Ag(electrostatically assembled from inorganic silver nanoparticles and the protein capsid of bacteriophage M13),berberine,and zerumbone,were found to inhibit tumorigenic bacteria to different *** this review,we described progress in elucidating the tumorigenic mechanisms of several CRC-associated bacteria,as well as progress in developing effective antibacterial *** bacteria have been shown to be active in the oncogenesis and progression of CRC,and some antibacterial compounds have shown therapeutic potential in bacteria-induced *** bacteria may be useful as biomarkers or therapeutic targets for CRC.

In the present study,we investigated the mechanisms underlying the mediation of iron transport by Ltype Ca^2+ channels(LTCCs)in primary cultured ventral mesencephalon(VM)neurons from *** found that cotreatment with 100 lmol/L FeSO4 and MPP^+(1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium)significantly increased the production of intracellular reactive oxygen species,decreased the mitochondrial transmembrane potential and increased the caspase-3 activation compared to MPP^+ treatment ***-treatment with 500 lmol/L CaCl2 further aggravated the FeSO4-induced neurotoxicity in MPP^+-treated VM ***-treatment with 10 lmol/L isradipine,an LTCC blocker,alleviated the neurotoxicity induced by co-application of FeSO4 and FeSO4/*** studies indicated that MPP^+treatment accelerated the iron influx into VM *** addition,FeSO4 treatment significantly increased the intracellular Ca^2+ *** effects were blocked by *** results suggest that elevated extracellular Ca^2+ aggravates ironinduced *** mediate iron transport in dopaminergic neurons and this,in turn,results in elevated intracellular Ca^2+ and further aggravates iron-induced neurotoxicity.
