Spontaneous phasic contractions of detrusor smooth muscle are pivotal to the normal bladder filling process. The role of K+ channels in mediating phasic contractions has been investigated on different occasions, but only in detrusor strips isolated longitudinally. In this study, the effects of individual K+ blockers were examined in both transverse and longitudinal detrusor strips. Detrusor strips were isolated transversely and longitudinally from young adult rat bladders. Tension before and after the introduction of K+channel blockers was measured using a myograph. Phasic activity was determined by calculating the integral of tension fluctuations. Phasic activity of transverse strips was increased under tetraethylammonium chloride (TEA), 4-aminopyridine (4-AP) and iberiotoxin (IbTx) treatments. longitudinal phasic activity was increased under charybdotoxin (ChTx) treatment. Neither glibenclamide (Glib) nor apamin treatment elicited any significant effect in both transverse and longitudinal phasic activity. The results indicated that phasic activity was mediated differently depending on the contractile direction. Data from this study reiterate that in addition to the conventional longitudinal direction, the transverse direction also presents significance when examining the contractility of a sac-like organ like the bladder.

Chromatin modification contributes to pluripotency maintenance in embryonic stem cells(ESCs).However,the related mechanisms remain ***,we show that Npac,a"reader"of histone H3 lysine 36 trimethylation(H3K36me3),is required to maintain mouse ESC(mESC)pluripotency since knockdown of Npac causes mESC *** of Npac in mouse embryonic fibroblasts(MEFs)inhibits reprogramming ***,our chromatin immunoprecipitation followed by sequencing(ChIP-seq)results of Npac reveal that Npac co-localizes with histone H3K36me3 in gene bodies of actively transcribed genes in ***,we find that Npac interacts with positive transcription elongation factor b(p-TEFb),Ser2-phosphorylated RNA PolⅡ(RNA PolⅡSer2P),and Ser5-phosphorylated RNA PolⅡ(RNA PolⅡSer5 P).Furthermore,depletion of Npac disrupts transcriptional elongation of the pluripotency genes Nanog and *** together,we propose that Npac is essential for the transcriptional elongation of pluripotency genes by recruiting p-TEFb and interacting with RNA PolⅡSer2P and Ser5P.

A new modified blend ultrafiltration （UF） membrane with good hydrophilicity,high porosity and excellent anti-fouling performance was developed by using carboxylic multi-walled carbon nanotube （CMWCNT） as casting solution ***,a composite nanofiltration （NF） membrane with large water flux and good retention rate was fabricated by using the PVDF/CMWCNT blend UF membrane as the substrate,and polyvinyl alcohol （PVA）,β-cyclodextrin （β-CD） and polyethylenimine （PEI） as the coating *** results show that with the appropriate addition of CMWCNT in the casting solution,the surface roughness,porosity and recovery rate of the PVDF/CMWCNT blend UF membrane is obviously *** water flux of blend UF membrane is significantly improved when the CMWCNT content increases from 0 wt% to 0.2 wt%.The water flux of blend UF membrane with 0.2 wt% CMWCNT is 162.7 L/（m2·h）,which is 44.3% higher than that of the pure PVDF *** β-CD content is 0.8 wt%,the retention rate of Congo red by PVDF/CMWCNT/β-CD composite NF membrane reaches 98.7%,which is 28.3% higher than that of single PVA/PEI modified *** research will provide a new idea and simple method for developing novel high-performance composite NF membranes.

The one-bit compressed sensing problem is of fundamental importance in many areas,such as wireless communication,statistics,and so ***,the optimization of one-bit problem coustrained on the unit sphere lacks an algorithm with rigorous mathematical proof of convergence and *** this paper,an iteration algorithm is established based on difference-of-convex algorithm for the one-bit compressed sensing problem constrained on the unit sphere,with iterating formula■,where C is the convex cone generated by the one-bit measurements andη_(1)>η_(2)>1/*** new algorithm is proved to converge as long as the initial point is on the unit sphere and accords with the measurements,and the convergence to the global minimum point of the l_(1)norm is discussed.

In this study, cucurbit[8]uril （CB[8]） was utilized as a kind of new adsorbent to remove Pb^2＋ ions from aqueous solution. With the solution pH increased from 2 to 6, the removal efficiency of adsorption increased from 55.6% to 74.5%correspondingly. The uptake of Pb^2＋ increased rapidly in the initial 30 min, and then the adsorption rate became slower. The Pseudo-second order model could be used to interpret the adsorption kinetics satisfactorily; and the rate determining step in Pb^2＋ adsorption onto CB[8] was the external mass transfer step. Equilibrium isotherm study reveals that the Langmuir model gave a better fitting result than Freundlich model. The maximum adsorption capacity calculated by the Langmuir model was 152.67 mg/g for 298 K, 149.70 mg/g for 313 K and 136.42 mg/g for 323 K, respectively. The adsorption is a spontaneous process of exothermic nature. The effect of the adsorbent dosage and the influences of solution pH and co-existing cations were also investigated. The CB[8] was synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, IR, ESI-MS spectra, SEM-EDAX, Zeta-potential and BET-analysis. The adsorption mechanism was due to the coordination between CB[8] molecule and Pb^2＋ ions.

The formation of precipitates and their effect on mechanical properties and irradiation damage in V-4CraTi alloys have been investigated using transmission electron microscope,high-temperature tensile tests and high-voltage electron microscope (HVEM).V-4Cr-4Ti alloys were aged for 20-40 h at 873 K,and extremely fine precipitates were produced during the aging process,which coarsened with aging *** results of high-temperature (773,873 and 973 K)tensile tests showed an increase in strength with increasing aging time (i.e:,increasing size of precipitates)while a decrease in the uniform *** was evidence that presence of precipitates strengthened V-4Cr-4Ti *** situ HVEM observations showed that the precipitates restricted the growth rate of dislocation loops induced during electron irradiation at 773 *** interactions between precipitates and irradiation-induced dislocation loops were *** presence of particles alleviated the increase in irradiation hardening up to an irradiation dose of 3.42 dpa (displacement per atom).The precipitates shrank in size during electron irradiation,which was due to the dissolution of constituent atoms of the precipitates into the alloy matrix.

Accumulating evidenee suggested that long noncoding RNAs(IncRNAs)possess a potential role in prostate cancer(PCa)diagnosis and *** biochemical recurrence(BCR)is considered as a sign for clinical recurrence metastasis and PCa-specific ***,the aim of the present study was to identify a IncRNA signature that can predict BCR of PCa *** analysis,Kaplan-Meier analyses,Cox regression analyses,and Gene Set Enrichment Analysis(GSEA)were performed in a publicly available database with 499 PCa tissues and 52 matched normal tissues.A signature was *** these IncRNAs were differentially expressed between tumor and normal tissues and differentially expressed between high Gleason score and low Gleason score ***,we developed a seven IncRNAs signature that can predict PCa *** classified into low-risk group showed better BCR survival significantly than the patients in the high-risk group(hazard ratio=0.32,95%Cl:0.20-0.52,concordance index=0.63).The area under the curve was 0.68 for *** signature also had good discrimination for BCR in men with Gleason 7 *** conclusion,our results suggest that the seven IncRNAs signature is a new biomarker of BCR and high risk in *** addition,the in dividual In cRNA warrants further study to un cover the associated mechanisms of PCa progression and the signature could be used to design direct clinical trials for adjuvant therapy.

Applying partial correlation method to analyzing the correlation between ionospheric NmF2 and height of isobaric level in the lower atmosphere

On the basis of a multiple linear regression model performed for ionospheric NmF2, partial correlation method is first applied to investigating the relation between NmF2 and h (the height of isobaric level) in the lower atmosphere over Wuhan, China during 1957―2004. The results show that partial correlation method can eliminate the influences of solar and geomagnetic activities as well as the seasonal varia- tion factors and reveal the true correlation between NmF2 and h in the lower atmosphere. A weak posi- tive correlation between NmF2 and h is found in the middle stratosphere. In addition, by comparing the partial correlation coefficients between NmF2 and its influence factors, we find that NmF2 is mainly affected by solar activity and the seasonal variation factors, and weakly affected by geomagnetic ac- tivity, but hardly affected by h in the lower atmosphere. The study suggests that partial correlation method is a helpful tool for investigating the correlation between ionospheric parameter and its influ- ence factors.

Recently,China’s State Council issued the Continuous Improvement of Air Quality Action Plan(hereafter,the third action plan),which follows the Air Pollution Prevention and Control Action Plan(2013–2017)(hereafter,the first action plan)and the Three-Year Action Plan for Winning the Blue Sky Defense Battle(2018–2020)(hereafter the second action plan).The first two action plans yielded nationwide health benefits[1–3],from improving lung function[4]to saving medical expenditures[5].Based on our previous estimates[6],due to reductions in the fine particulate matter(PM2.5)level,implementation of the first and second action plans was expected to increase life expectancy by 2.11 and 3.68 months.

CDCAT: A Multi-Language Cross-Document Entity and Event Coreference Annotation Tool

A tool for the manual annotation of cross-document entity and event coreferences that helps annotators to label mention coreference relations in text is essential for the annotation of coreference corpora. To the best of our knowledge, CROss-document Main Events and entities Recognition(CROMER) is the only open-source manual annotation tool available for cross-document entity and event coreferences. However, CROMER lacks multi-language support and extensibility. Moreover, to label cross-document mention coreference relations, CROMER requires the support of another intra-document coreference annotation tool known as Content Annotation Tool, which is now unavailable. To address these problems, we introduce Cross-Document Coreference Annotation Tool(CDCAT), a new multi-language open-source manual annotation tool for cross-document entity and event coreference, which can handle different input/output formats, preprocessing functions, languages, and annotation systems. Using this new tool, annotators can label a reference relation with only two mouse clicks. Best practice analyses reveal that annotators can reach an annotation speed of 0.025 coreference relations per second on a corpus with a coreference density of 0.076 coreference relations per word. As the first multi-language open-source cross-document entity and event coreference annotation tool, CDCAT can theoretically achieve higher annotation efficiency than CROMER.
