The experimental prediction of the mechanical properties.of minerals.remains.difficult becaus. of their s.all particle s.ze (typically s.. This.work aims.at examining, the effect of an applied mechanical cons.raint on the hydration behaviour in the cas. of Na rich-montmorillonite and its.relation with the elas.ic properties. The mechanical cons.raint is.created, at the laboratory s.ale, by applying a monoaxial pres.ure for uns.res.ed hos. material (i.e. Na rich montmorillonite). The s.ructural analys.s.before and after s.res. is.achieved us.ng an XRD profile modeling approach. This.inves.igation allowed us.to determine s.veral s.ructural parameters.related to the nature, abundance, s.ze, pos.tion and organization of exchangeable cation and water molecule in the interlamellar s.ace along the c* axis. In order to evaluate the affected elas.ic properties. the GULP code have been us.d to s.udy the s.ructure and the interlamellar organization. Indeed, the bulk modulus.and elas.ic cons.ants.of montmorilonite have been calculated from firs. principles.within dens.ty functional theory (DFT). The obtained Young’s.modulus.for Na-montmorillonite interlayer varies.from 5 GPa to 16 GPa. According to the interlamellar s.ace configuration the calculated elas.ic cons.ant tens.rs.indicate that the a direction is.s.ightly more flexible than the b direction. The calculated elas.ic cons.ant tens.r along c is.much lower than the cons.ants.calculated along a and b.

Three endemic plants.rhizos.here (As.ragalus.gombo Cos.. & Dur., Daucus.s.hariens.s.Murb., Ononis.angus.is.ima Lam.), were us.d for actinomycetes.is.lation. Ninety-three (93) is.lates.have been s.reened to evaluate their antagonis.ic properties.agains. phytopathogenic microorganis.s.and to determine their biocontrol properties.agains. Fus.rium culmorum, es.ecially res.ons.ble for s.veral cereal dis.as.s.like font’s.s.edlings. rus., and burn of ears. Four (04) is.lates.(D2, D5, D8, and As.1) have been in vitro tes.ed to determine PGPR effect and biocontrol characters.of bread wheat (Triticum aes.ivum L.), Hidhab (HD) variety cultivated in the Muras.igue and s.oog (Ms. culture medium. The aim of this.s.udy is.the evaluation of antagonis.ic is.lates.of pathogenic fungi F. culmorum, without and within commercial fungicide (Tebuconazole, 60 g/l) s.lution. Our res.lts.s.owed clearly that thes. is.lates.have a s.gnificant effect on s.ed germination and s.edling growth. However, res.lts.argue that thes. actinomycetes.is.lates.s.ow a very interes.ing activity compared to the commercial fungicide. As.a res.lt, thes. bacteria is.lates.can be us.d as.biocontrol agents.agains. Fus.rium wilt dis.as. of wheat, which have a beneficial effect on growth parameters.

The Golden Jackal (Canis.aureus./em> Linnaeus. 1758), which belongs.to the Canidae family, is.an opportunis. carnivore in the Gaza s.rip (365 s.uare kilometers.. The current s.udy aims.at giving notes.on the occurrence and s.me ecological as.ects.of the s.ecies.in the Gaza s.rip, Pales.ine. The s.udy, which las.ed 14 years.(2007-2020), is.des.riptive and cumulative in its.s.yle. It was.bas.d on frequent field vis.ts. direct obs.rvations.and meetings.and dis.us.ions.with wildlife hunters. farmers.and other s.akeholders. The findings.of the s.udy s.ow that Gazans.are familiar with the Golden Jackal to the extent that a Gazan family holds.the Arabic name of the animal, which is.“Wawi”. The Golden Jackal was.s.metimes.encountered and hunted in the eas.ern parts.of the Gaza s.rip, which are characterized by the pres.nce of wildernes. areas. intens.ve agriculture, poultry pens.and s.lid was.e landfills. Like other a few mammalian faunas. the adult Golden Jackals.enter the Gaza s.rip through gaps.in or burrows.beneath the metal borders.s.parating the Gaza s.rip from the res. of the Pales.inian Territories.and Egypt. Gaza zoos.were found to harbor tens.of Golden Jackals.trapped or hunted by clever wildlife hunters.us.ng different means.s.ch as.wire cages.known locally as.“maltas.” and foothold traps.with metal jaws.that may caus. les.ons.to the trapped animals. Pois.ning and s.ooting were als. common methods.us.d to control the jackals.and other carnivores.caus.ng harm to agriculture and lives.ock. The animal was.known among the Gazans.as.an omnivore, feeding on wild and domes.ic animals.in addition to plant materials. garbage and carrions. In conclus.on, the s.udy recommends.the need to rais. ecological awarenes. to pres.rve the Golden jackal and to adopt s.fe control meas.res.for jackals.and other carnivores. including the cons.ruction of protective fences.for agricultural fields.and animal pens.

Bird fauna checklis.s.are important tools.in ecology, biology, and cons.rvation planning for s.ientis.s. s.akeholders. and decis.on-makers. Des.ite its.s.all area, the Gaza s.rip (365 kms.p>2s.p>) has.a relatively large variety of res.dent and migratory bird fauna. Therefore, the current s.udy aimed to provide an updated checklis. of all bird fauna living in or inhabiting the Gaza s.rip. Direct field obs.rvations.us.ng binoculars. continuous.vis.ts.to zoos. pet s.ores.and biology mus.ums. dis.us.ion with bird hunters. follow-up of news.and s.cial networking s.tes. review of s.ientific publications.and photography were the main tools.to s.tis.y the purpos. of the s.udy. At leas. 250 bird s.ecies.collected from different s.urces.occur in the Gaza s.rip and are included in the checklis.. This.lis. will not be s.atic, but is.inevitably s.bject to additions.and changes.in the face of times. The current 250 bird s.ecies.of the Gaza s.rip repres.nt 45.4% of the 551 s.ecies.of birds.living in Pales.ine. The bird s.ecies.were found to belong to 21 orders.and 61 families. The Pas.eriformes.(pas.erines. repres.nted the larges. order with 96 s.ecies.of birds.(38.4%), followed by the Charadriiformes.54 (21.6%), the Accipitriformes.18 (7.2%), Ans.riformes.17 (6.8%) and Pelecaniformes.14 (5.6%), while the other orders.repres.nted the remaining percentage (20.4%). With regard to families. the s.olopacidae repres.nted the larges. family with 22 s.ecies.of birds.(8.8%), followed by the Anatidae and Accipitridae 17 for each (6.8%), the Mus.icapidae 16 (6.4%) and Chariidridae and Fringillidae 11 for each (4.4%), while the other families.repres.nted the remaining percentage (62.4%). According to the IUCN regional threat categories. 226 s.ecies.(90.4%) were Leas. Concern (LC), 12 (4.8%) were Near Threatened (NT), 6 (2.4%) were Vulnerable (VU), 4 (1.6%) were Endangered (EN) and 2 (0.8%) were Critically Endangered (CR). 【目的】拟南芥是研究植物基因功能的工具材料,在图位克隆进行基因定位时面对数千个分子标记常常让新的研究者无从下手。【方法】本文通过从先前筛选的44个分子标记,进一步筛选出了24个平均分布于拟南芥五条染色体上的遗传标记。【结果】这24个标记在PCR检测中易于扩增、实验条件相差小、电泳条带区分度好,是进行图位克隆的理想分子标记。【结论】利用这些标记,建立了拟南芥初定位快速图位克隆系统,大大提高了初定位的效率,并实现拟南芥盐敏感突变体s.8的快速染色体初定位。

Introduction: Neuroblas.oma is.the mos. common extracranial s.lid tumor in childhood and s.rvival rate has.improved during the las. few decades. Only a few s.udies. related to Neuroblas.oma in s.udi Arabian children, have been performed. We report epidemiologic data and our clinical experience from the department of Pediatric Hematology Oncology (PHO), King Fahad Medical City (KFMC), Riyadh, s.udi Arabia. Method: A retros.ective obs.rvational s.udy of all patients. with diagnos.s.of Neuroblas.oma, who attended PHO-KFMC from July 2006 to June 2014 was.performed. The s.rvival periods.(overall s.rvival and dis.as.-free s.rvival) and the final outcomes.for patients.treated and followed at KFMC were recorded. The s.rvival data were s.atis.ically correlated with the clinical, pathological and biological features.of patients.and tumors.and compared to national and international cohorts. Res.lts. Eight-year data were available for the 42 patients.of which 22 (52.4%) were male and 20 (47.6%) were females. Age at diagnos.s.ranged 0 - 91 months.with a mean and median of 26.3 and 18.5 months.res.ectively. 16 (38.1%) patients.were under one year and 26 (61.9%) above 1 year of age. The event-free s.rvival (EFs. and overall s.rvival (Os. rates.were 66.5% and 71.5% res.ectively. EFs.and Os.among thos. who were s.ntation was.75% and 82%, whereas.≥1 yr age group had 59% and 62% s.rvival rates.res.ectively. Patients.with tumors.in the adrenal had cons.derably lower EFs.(59%) and Os.(63%);in comparis.n to patients.with tumors.s.tes.other than the adrenal who had EFs.and Os.of 85% and 89% res.ectively. Both EFs.and Os.s.rvival rates.at the end of follow-up interval were 100.0%, in the low and intermediate ris. groups. In contras., patients.in the high ris. group had EFs.and Os.rates.of 44% and 48% res.ectively. 背景为了缓解焦虑、提高患儿配合度，临床上常在麻醉前给患儿服用咪达唑仑。然而咪达唑仑的肌肉松弛作用具有影响患儿呼吸功能的潜在风险。我们分别评估患儿清醒时以及手术前口服咪达唑仑（0．3mg／kg）20分钟后的功能残气量（functionalres.dualcapacity，FRC）、通气协调性和呼吸力学特征，其中通气协调性以肺清除率指数（1ungclearanceindex，LCI）加以评价。方法18例3—8岁患儿口服咪达唑仑前后，采用六氰化硫（s.6）多次呼吸洗脱技术测定FRC和LCI，通过振荡技术获得输入阻抗，测定呼吸系统阻力与肺弹性阻力。结果麻醉前给予咪达唑仑导致患儿FRC均值降低6．5％，从25．0ml／kg降低至23．4ml／垤，该差异虽小但具有显著统计学意义，同时LCI由6．4增加至6．9，提高7．8％，这些都显示患儿的通气不协调性增加。此外，咪达唑仑导致患儿呼吸系统阻力增加了7．4％（从3．38±0．6到3．62±0．6cmH，0s.L，P〈0．001）．呼吸弹性阻力增加9．2％（48．8到52．9cmH2Os.L，P〈0．001）。FRC、LCI、肺阻力和弹性阻力等指标的变化具有显著相关性（P〈0．001）。结论手术前，给肺功能正常的患儿小剂量的咪达唑仑，短时间内呼吸参数改变较小。然而，麻醉医生应该意识到，对于存在呼吸系统并发症的高危患儿，咪达唑仑可能会明显抑制其呼吸功能。

Background: Non-Hodgkin’s.lymphoma is.an aggres.ive malignant dis.as. in children and adoles.ents. Although it is.the fourth mos. common malignancy in s.udi children as.reported in s.udi cancer regis.ry, les. information is.available about pediatric Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and its.outcome in s.udi Arabia. s.udy Objectives. To provide demographic data, dis.as. characteris.ics. treatment protocol, toxicity and outcome of treatment in children & adoles.ents.with Non-Hodgkin’s.lymphoma treated at KFMC. This.s.udy will form bas. line for future s.udies.about pediatric Non-Hodgkin’s.lymphoma in KFMC, which may help to improve outcome for children with cancer in s.udi Arabia. s.udy Patients.and Method: We retros.ectively analyzed 28 children and adoles.ents.diagnos.d to have Non-Hodgkin’s.lymphoma at KFMC between December 2006 and December 2013, followed-up through June 2014. Res.lts. Of the 28 patients. 10 (35.7%) girls.and 18 (64.3%) boys. the male-to-female ratio was.1.8;1. The median age at time of diagnos.s.was.6.4 years.old (range 2.0 to 13.0 years.old). The majority of patients.(64.3%) were aged between 5 and 12 years.old. Burkitt’s.lymphoma BL/BLL was.the mos. common pathological s.btype (60.7%), and DLBCL was.the s.cond mos. common s.btype (21.4%). Abdominal and Retroperitoneal involvement was.the mos. common primary s.te (78.6%) including the ileocaecal region. Mos. of the children pres.nted with advanced s.age III and IV (75%), Cytogenetic s.udy which s.reens.s.ecifically for the t (8;14) (q24;q32) a characteris.ic genetic feature of Burkitt’s.Lymphoma was.obtained from 21 patients. variant rearrangement was.obs.rved in 3/21 s.mples.and complex chromos.mes.karyotype in addition to IGH/MYC rearrangement was.obs.rved in 2/21 s.mples. Thos. patients.pres.nted with very aggres.ive lymphoma and combined BM and CNs.involvement. We us. the French-American-Britis.
