Background This study assessed the necessity of postoperative nasogastric tube(NGT)use in acute pediatric cases of per-forated *** All cases of acute pediatric perforated appendicitis managed with transumbilical laparoscopic-assisted appendec-tomy at our hospital from 2011 to 2017 were retrospectively ***-two cases were selected and divided into two groups based on NGT *** There were no significant differences between the two groups in most parameters of patient demographics,or surgi-cal ***,the mean time to first oral intake and to regular diet was significantly shorter in no-NGT group(1 day vs 3 days,P<0.0001;and 4 days vs 7 days,P=0.003,respectively).Postoperative length of stay was significantly shorter in no-NGT group(7 days vs 9 days,P<0.0001).Conclusion Considering the results of our analysis,we believe that routine NGT placement is not always necessary in these situations.

We all physicist have long been believed that an elementary particle is a wave as well as a particle, but we discuss in this paper that an electron (probably all fermions) is always a particle. Author claim that quantum mechanics (QM) is not such mysterious as Bohr stated that the wave turn to the particle by observation. We can understand QM by natural human sense. The wave nature of electrons is only an appearance or a phenomena but not intrinsic or substantial. An electron is an individual body, which interferes with other individual electrons. Interference is the key word instead of the wave to understand the quantum mechanics. Interference produces the wave nature and the uncertainty. When we determine that an electron is nothing but a particle, we will see the true meaning of wave function and the Schr?dinger’s equation.

A rational design evaluation procedure is investigated for the elastic overall buckling load carrying capacity of single layer cylindrical lattice shell roof structures. The nature of the imperfection sensitivity of these structures is for the first time reviewed in this paper. This allows the development of the reduced stiffness buckling analytical concept for the lattice shells based upon the introduction of a simple lower bound estimation equation through the use of the so-called continuum shell analogy theory. The linear and nonlinear buckling loads found from conventional finite element analyses are compared with the present estimations. Finally, the elastic-plastic load carrying capacity estimation method through the use of the present elastic lower bound criteria is also proposed.

Two novel polymers containing glucose units as the main-chain that only differ in terms of their regioregularity were synthesized to evaluate their chiral recognition abilities as chiral stationary phases(CSPs)for high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).The regioregular polymer(poly-5)shows clear resolution ability for the racemate of cobalt(Ⅲ)acetylacetonate(Co(acac)3),whereas the corresponding regioirregular polymer(poly-3)does not show any chiral recognition for Co(acac)*** regioregular polymer main-chain seems to play an important role not only in providing an efficient interaction with the racemate but also in expressing the chiral recognition ability as a CSP for HPLC.

AIM:To determine the general risk factors affecting the failure rate of first-line eradication therapy in Japanese patients with Helicobacter pylori(***)***:The present study enrolled 253 patients who had an *** infection,underwent gastroendoscopy,and were treated with *** eradication *** therapy consisted of 30 mg lansoprazole plus 750 mg amoxicillin and 400 mg clarithromycin twice daily for 7 *** of the patients underwent a 13 C urea breath test at least 1 mo after the completion of eradication *** current study investigated the independent factors associated with successful *** eradication using a multiple logistic regression ***:The overall success rate in the patients was 85.8%.Among the general factors examined in the multivariate analyses,only having an age less than 50 years was found to be significantly associated with a poor response to *** ***,side effects were the only clinical factors in the patients who were under 50 years of age that significantly influenced the poor response to *** ***:***-positive elderly patients should undergo eradication *** addition,it is necessary to improve *** eradication therapy in younger patients.

Effect of Cold-Rolling on Precipitation Phenomena in Sensitized Type 316L and 304L Austenitic Stainless Steels

Precipitation phenomena in Type 316L and 304L stainless steels were studied mainly by transmission electron microscopic (TEM) observations after cold-rolling ranging from 0% (as solution annealed) to 80% reduction in thickness, and then by sensitization treatment. Precipitates were identified by electron diffraction analysis and EDS analysis. Precipitates observed in sensitized 316L stainless steel were sigma and chi phases, whereas carbide and sigma were observed in sensitized 304L stainless steel. Recrystallized grains were formed in 30% cold-rolled and sensitized 304L. However, the tendency toward recrystallization in sensitized 316L was much lower than in 304L. Precipitation of sigma and chi phases was accelerated by cold-rolling and they were observed at grain boundaries in lower cold-rolling; they were also seen, in grain interiors in higher cold-rolling. Higher deformation induced partially recrystallization combined with precipitation, resulting in the formation of heterogeneous microstructures.
