Ni/Co bimetallic organic frameworks nanospheres for highperformance electrochemical energy storage

In addition to their many well-known advantages(e.g.,ultra-high porosity,good pore size distribution,easy functionalization,and structural tolerability),metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)are a new class of advanced functional ***,their backbones are highly susceptible to deformation after exposure to acidic or alkaline *** a result of lithium-ion batteries embedding or detaching directly from MOFs,they irreversibly *** a result,they fail to maintain their electrochemical *** factors have hindered the development of MOFs as direct electrode materials,making the design of MOF materials with controlled morphology and stable dimensions a new *** this study,we adopted a versatile and effective method to synthesize a novel MOF material(NiCo-BP(BP=BTC/phen and BTC=1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid))using the rigid ligands 1,10-phenanthroline and homobenzotrizoic acid,and the emergence of the Ni-O/N and Co-O/N coordination layers was observed by extended X-ray absorption fine structure(EXAFS)tests,indicating that Ni and Co were coordinated with heterocyclic N-given atoms to form a stable p-πconjugated ***,the metal-ion is attached to the carboxylic acid ligand on the other side,making the metal-organic skeleton complete and *** nanosphere structure of NiCo-BP(~400 nm)allows for full exposure and utilisation of the active sites,especially the Ni,Co,and phenanthroline units,and exhibit impressively high specific capacity and cycling *** a high current density of 1.0 A·g^(−1),a high discharge specific capacity of 631.6 mAh·g^(−1)was obtained after 1000 *** co-participation of two organic ligands in the coordination is in accordance with the theory of soft and hard acids and bases,which contributes to the ability of the material to maintain a high capacity in cycling as well as its cyclic stability.

CdS/LaFeO_(3) heterojunctions with improved optical properties for visible-light catalytic applications

Construction of heterojunctions is a normal and effective strategy to improve the photocatalytic performances of semiconductors,through which both the lifetime and the redox ability of electrons/holes can be improved,as co mpared to the respective *** this basis,we constructed Z-scheme CdS/LaFeO_(3) heterojunctions(CdS/LFO),by in-situ growing different amounts of CdS on the surface of LaFeO_(3),for photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride(TC)in aqueous solution at room *** crystal structure,surface morphology and optoelectronic properties of the COS/LFO heterojunctions were systemically characterized to correlate the reaction *** tests indicate that the CdS/LFO heterojunctions exhibit promising activity for TC degradation under visible light irradiation(λ≥420 nm),with 85%TC conversion obtained at reaction time of 45 min,which is 3.4 and 1.9 times higher than that of CdS and LaFeO_(3).The CdS/LFO heterojunctions are also stable in the reaction and can be reused for four cycles with no appreciable activity *** applicability of CdS/LFO to photocatalytic degradation of organic dyes,as well as the reaction mechanism,was also explored.

BACKGROUND Thiopurine-induced leucopenia significantly hinders the wide application of *** optimization guided by nudix hydrolase 15(NUDT15)has significantly reduced the early leucopenia rate,but there are no definitive biomarkers for late risk leucopenia *** To determine the predictive value of early monitoring of DNA-thioguanine(DNATG)or 6-thioguanine nucleotides(6TGN)for late leucopenia under a NUDT15-guided thiopurine dosing strategy in patients with Crohn’s disease(CD).METHODS Blood samples were collected within two months after thiopurine initiation for detection of metabolite *** leucopenia was defined as a leukocyte counthan in those who did not develop late leucopenia(P=4.9×10^(-13)).The DNATG threshold of 319.43 fmol/μg DNA could predict late leucopenia in the entire sample with an area under the curve(AUC)of 0.855(sensitivity 83%,specificity 81%),and in NUDT15/TPMT normal metabolizers,the predictive performance of a threshold of 315.72 fmol/μg DNA was much more remarkable with an AUC of 0.902(sensitivity 88%,specificity 85%).6TGN had a relatively poor correlation with late leucopenia whether in the entire sample(P=0.021)or NUDT15/TPMT normal or intermediate metabolizers(P=0.018,P=0.55,respectively).CONCLUSION Proactive therapeutic drug monitoring of DNATG could be an effective strategy to prevent late leucopenia in both NUDT15/TPMT normal and intermediate metabolizers with CD,especially the former.

UAV-assisted cooperative offloading energy efficiency system for mobile edge computing

Reliable communication and intensive computing power cannot be provided effectively by temporary hot spots in disaster areas and complex terrain ground *** this has greatly developed the application and integration of UAV and Mobile Edge Computing(MEC)to the Internet of Things(loT).However,problems such as multi-user and huge data flow in large areas,which contradict the reality that a single UAV is constrained by limited computing power,still *** to allowing UAV collaboration to accomplish complex tasks,cooperative task offloading between multiple UAVs must meet the interdependence of tasks and realize parallel processing,which reduces the computing power consumption and endurance pressure of *** the computing requirements of the user terminal,delay constraint of a computing task,energy constraint,and safe distance of UAV,we constructed a UAV-Assisted cooperative offloading energy efficiency system for mobile edge computing to minimize user terminal energy ***,the resulting optimization problem is originally nonconvex and thus,difficult to solve *** tackle this problem,we developed an energy efficiency optimization algorithm using Block Coordinate Descent(BCD)that decomposes the problem into three convex ***,we jointly optimized the number of local computing tasks,number of computing offloaded tasks,trajectories of UAV,and offloading matching relationship between multi-UAVs and multiuser *** results show that the proposed approach is suitable for different channel conditions and significantly saves the user terminal energy consumption compared with other benchmark schemes.

Atropine can induce autophagy independent of the M3 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor

Background: No other effects of atropine other than as an antagonist of muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (mAChR) have been found. Methods: In this study, human kidneyepithelial cells were treated with different physiological regulators. Results: Subsequently, it was found that atropine could significantly induce autophagy as demonstrated by the appearance of autophagosome-like double- or single-membrane vesicles in the cytoplasm ofhost cells and the number of GFP-LC3 dots. In addition, increased conversion of the autophagy marker protein LC3-I and LC3-II and increased p62/SQSTM1 indicatedincomplete autophagy. In addition, atropine induced autophagosome levels in a dose-dependent manner within a certain concentration range in human kidney epithelial cells. In atropine-treated mouse skeletal muscle cells containing nicotinic acetylcholinereceptors and rat cardiac muscle cells containing mAchR, atropine induced autophagy in mouse skeletal muscle cells but not in rat cardiac muscle cells. Furthermore, atropine did not induce autophagy in tissue cells containing mAchR in vivo but did in tissue cells not containing mAchR. Conclusion: This study expands the application and understanding of atropine’s action mechanism in the field of medicine.

CMAGAN:classifier-aided minority augmentation generative adversarial networks for industrial imbalanced data and its application to fault prediction

Class imbalance is a common characteristic of industrial data that adversely affects industrial data mining because it leads to the biased training of machine learning *** address this issue,the augmentation of samples in minority classes based on generative adversarial networks(GANs)has been demonstrated as an effective *** study proposes a novel GAN-based minority class augmentation approach named classifier-aided minority augmentation generative adversarial network(CMAGAN).In the CMAGAN framework,an outlier elimination strategy is first applied to each class to minimize the negative impacts of ***,a newly designed boundary-strengthening learning GAN(BSLGAN)is employed to generate additional samples for minority *** incorporating a supplementary classifier and innovative training mechanisms,the BSLGAN focuses on learning the distribution of samples near classification ***,it can fully capture the characteristics of the target class and generate highly realistic samples with clear ***,the new samples are filtered based on the Mahalanobis distance to ensure that they are within the desired *** evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed approach,CMAGAN was used to solve the class imbalance problem in eight real-world fault-prediction *** performance of CMAGAN was compared with that of seven other algorithms,including state-of-the-art GAN-based methods,and the results indicated that CMAGAN could provide higher-quality augmented results.

Influence of laser parameters on the microstructures and surface properties in laser surface modification of biomedical magnesium alloys

Biodegradable implants from magnesium(Mg)alloys have emerged in the biomedical field especially in the orthopedic and cardiovascular stent applications owing to their low density,high specific strength,excellent machinability,good biocompatibility,and *** primary shortcoming of Mg-based implants is their low corrosion resistance in the physiological environment,which results in premature mechanical integrity loss before adequate healing and the production of excessive hydrogen gas,which is harmful to the body tissues and negatively affects the biocompatibility of the *** surface modification has recently received attention because it can improve the surface properties such as surface chemistry,roughness,topography,corrosion resistance,wear resistance,hydrophilicity,and thus cell response to the surface of the *** composition and microstructures including textures and phases of laser-treated surfaces depend largely on the laser processing parameters(input laser power,laser scan velocity,frequency,pulse duration,pressure,gas circulation,working time,spot size,beam focal position,and laser track overlap)and the thermophysical properties of the substrate(solubility,melting point,and boiling point).This review investigates the impacts of various laser surface modification techniques including laser surface melting,laser surface alloying,laser cladding,laser surface texturing,and laser shock peening,and highlights their significance in improving the surface properties of biodegradable Mg alloys for implant ***,we explore how different laser process parameters affect its composition,microstructure,and surface properties in each laser surface modification technique.

●AIM:To identify disease-causative mutations in families with congenital cataract.●METHODS:Two Chinese families with autosomaldominant congenital cataract(ADCC)were recruited and underwent comprehensive eye *** panel next-generation sequencing of common pathogenic genes of congenital cataract was performed in the proband of each *** sequencing was used to valid the candidate gene mutations and sequence the other family members for co-segregation *** effect of sequence changes on protein structure and function was predicted through bioinformatics *** intrinsic protein(MIP)-wildtype and MIP-G29R plasmids were constructed and microinjected into zebrafish single-cell stage *** embryonic lens phenotypes were screened using confocal microscopy.●RESULTS:A novel heterozygous mutation(c.85G>A;p.G29R)in the MIP gene was identified in the proband of one family.A known heterozygous mutation(c.97C>T;p.R33C;rs864309693)in MIP was found in the proband of another ***-silico prediction indicated that the novel mutation might affect the MIP protein *** embryonic lens was uniformly transparent in both wild-type PCS2+MIP and mutant PCS2+MIP.●CONCLUSION:Two missense mutations in the MIP gene in Chinese cataract families are identified,and one of which is *** findings expand the genetic spectrum of MIP mutations associated with *** functional studies suggest that the novel MIP mutation might not be a gain-of-function but a loss-of-function mutation.

Cooperative enhancement of mechanical and tribological properties through tailoring TiN transition interface in boron nitride nanosheets reinforced copper composites

Strengthening interface bonding between boron nitride nanosheets(BNNS) and copper matrix is an essential prerequisite for exploiting a new generation of copper matrix composites(CMCs) with high strength and wear resistance. Herein, BNNS/Cu composites were fabricated by the powder metallurgy route, matrix-alloying(adding 1.0 wt% Ti) strategy was adopted to improve the interfacial wettability and strengthen interface adhesion. A typical "sandwich"-like multiply interface structure involving TiN transition layers, BNNS and Cu matrix had been well constructed through the rational heat treatment(900℃for 120 min). Additionally, nano-sized TiB whisker was in situ formed in the vicinity of the interface, it had linked the BNNS-Cu-TiN multiply interface, which played a role of "threading the needle" and significantly strengthened the multi-interfaces bonding. This specific interface structure was finely characterized, and the formation mechanism of solid-state interfacial reaction feature was proposed. The results demonstrated that the ultimate tensile strength(UTS) of BNNS/Cu-(Ti)-900℃ increased from 248 to 530 MPa(increased by 114%), and the coefficient of friction(COF) decreased from 0.51 to 0.28 than pure Cu. This work highlights the importance of interface configuration design, which contributes to the development of CMCs with prominent comprehensive properties.

Dietary supplementation with succinic acid improves growth performance and flesh quality of adult Nile tilapia(Oreochromis niloticus)fed a high-carbohydrate diet

To evaluate the effects of dietary supplementation with succinic acid on growth performance,flesh quality,glucose,and lipid metabolism of Nile tilapia(Oreochromis niloticus)fed a high-carbohydrate diet(HCD),five iso-nitrogenous and iso-lipidic diets were prepared as follows:HCD(control group)consisting of 55%corn starch and HCD supplemented with 0.5%,1.0%,2.0%,and 4.0%succinic acid,*** with an initial body weight of 204.90±1.23 g randomly assigned to 15 tanks with 3 replicates per group and 10 fish per tank fed for 8 *** dietary succinic acid supplementation resulted in significant second-order polynomial relationship in the weight gain rate(WGR),specific growth rate(SGR),feed conversion ratio(FCR),protein efficiency rate(PER),viscerosomatic index,condition factor,and contents of muscular crude lipid and glycogen(P<0.05).The hepatosomatic index,mesenteric fat index,liver glycogen content and crude lipid contents of the whole-body and liver demonstrated significantly linear and second-order polynomial relationship(P<0.05).Quadratic curve model analysis based on WGR,SGR,PER,and FCR demonstrated that optimal supplementation with succinic acid in the HCD of Nile tilapia ranged from 1.83%to 2.43%.Fish fed with 1.0%succinic acid had higher muscular hardness,increased the contents of alkali-soluble hydroxyproline in collagen,docosahexaenoic acid(DHA)and n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid(n-3PUFA)in muscle,and lower total fatty acid content in muscle(P<0.05)compared with the control *** to the control group,dietary supplementation with 1.0%succinic acid significantly increased the contents of total bounding amino acid(arginine,histidine,isoleucine,lysine,methionine,alanine,proline),total flavor amino acid(free aspartic acid),the catalase(CAT)activity and total antioxidant capacity,and the mRNA relative expression levels of CAT,superoxide dismutase(SOD),and nuclearfactor erythroidderived 2-like 2(Nrf2)in muscle(P<0.05).Furthermore,succini
