Ultra-wideband surface plasmonic bandpass filter with extremely wide upper-band rejection

An ultra-wideband bandpass filter(BPF)with a wide out-of-band rejection based on a surface plasmonic waveguide(SPW)slotline with ring grooves is designed and analyzed.A paired microstrip-to-slotline transition is designed for quasiTEM to TM mode conversion by using a microstrip line with a circular pad and the slotline with the same circular *** mode conversion between the TM and the surface plasmon polariton(SPP)mode is realized by using a gradient slotline with ring grooves and an impedance matching *** upper cut-off frequencies of the passband can be adjusted by using these proposed SPP units,while the lower frequencies of the passband are created by using the microstrip-toslotline transitions to give an ultra-wideband *** dispersion curves of SPP units,electric field distribution,and the transmission spectra of the proposed ultra-wideband bandpass filter are all calculated and analyzed by the finite-difference time-domain(FDTD)*** simulated results show that the presented filter has good performance including a wide3-dB bandwidth of 149%from 0.57 GHz to 3.93 GHz,an extremely wide 40-dB upper-band rejection from 4.2 GHz to18.5 GHz,and low loss and high selectivity in the *** prove the design validity,a prototype of the BPF has been manufactured and measured,showing a reasonable agreement with simulation *** unique features of the proposed BPF may make it applicable for integrated circuit and plasmonic devices in microwave or THz frequency ranges.

＂Wang Yang-ming and Chinese Cosmopolitanism in Comparative Perspectives： Implications for Global Governance＂

This paper investigates Chinese cosmopolitanism advocated by Wang Yang-ming（1472-1529） , a famous Confucian philosopher, and its implications for contemporary global governance and China＇s soft-power build-up. It aims to provide a more inclusive perception of world order, and calls for a less nationalistic and hegemonic understanding of Confucianism in contemporary China＇s intellectual or ideological projections, which has been used to envision China＇s foreign policies recently. For the political use of the word ＂ harmony＂ today seems similar to instrumentalization of Confucianism in history. I focus on his idea of ＂being one body with the cosmos＂ and its socio-political dimensions of the world as one family, and then bring them into dialogue with the recent Western theorizing of liberal cosmopolitanism -- an idea of world citizenship which bases global governance on a universally rational foundation. I argue that Wang bases his cosmopolitanism upon graded care and a particular sense of sympathy. It is a sort of moral sentiment of embodied oneness and a cosmic psyche in caring for Heaven, earth, and the myriad creatures like caring for one＇s own body. It also accommodates ＂ integral pluralism＂ which urges one to sincerely and properly construe others＇ cultures and traditions without blindly embracing or rejecting them. Such cosmopolitanism is not an abstract love based on human rationality, but an allinclusive care with graded sympathy to others.

Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries are the promising next-generation secondary energy storage systems,because of their advantages of high energy density and environmental *** numerous cathode materials,organosulfur polymer materials have received extensive attentions because of their controllable structure and uniform sulfur ***,the sulfur content of most organosulfur polymer cathodes is limited(S content<60%)due to the addition of large amounts of conductive agents and binders,which adversely affects the energy density of Li-S ***,a hyperbranched sulfur-rich polymer based on modified polyethyleneimine(Ath-PEI)named carbon nanotubeentangled poly(allyl-terminated hyperbranched ethyleneimine-random-sulfur)(CNT/Ath-PEI@S)was prepared by sulfur polymerization and used as a Li-S battery *** high intrinsic viscosity of Ath-PEI provided considerable adhesion and avoided the addition of PVDF binder,thereby increasing the sulfur content of cathodes to 75%.Moreover,considering the uniform distribution of elemental sulfur by the polymer,the utilization of sulfur was successfully improved,thus improving the rate capability and discharge capacity of the *** binder-free,sulfur-rich polymer cathode exhibited ultra-high initial discharge capacity(1520.7 mAh g^(−1) at 0.1 C),and high rate capability(804 mAh g^(−1) at 2.0 C).And cell-level calculations show that the electrode exhibits an initial capacity of 942.3 mAh g^(−1) electrode,which is much higher than those of conventional sulfur-polymer electrodes reported in the literature.

We report temperature-dependent behavior of the zero bias tunneling conductance(ZBTC),derived from tun neling spectroscopies on as-grown Bi_(2)Sr_(2)CaCu_(2)O_(8+δ)(Bi2212)single crystals taken with evaporated Zn and Pb planar *** Tc the measured ZBTC shows a kink which gives an in situ measure of the superconducting transition temperature(T_(c)).Below T_(c),the T^(2)dependence of the ZBTC has been observed repeatedly as a new evidence of the d-wave symmetry in Bi2212.
