Time-domain hydrodynamic analysis of pontoon-plate floating breakwater

The hydrodynamic behaviors of a floating breakwater consisting of a rectangular pontoon and horizontal plates are studied theoretically. The fluid motion is idealized as two-dimensional linear potential flow. The motions of the floating breakwater are assumed to be two-dimensional in sway, heave, and roll. The solution to the fluid motion is derived by transforming the governing differential equation into the integral equation on the boundary in time domain with the Green＇s function method. The motion equations of the floating breakwater are established and solved with the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method to obtain the displacement and velocity of the breakwater. The mooring forces are computed with the static method. The computational results of the wave transmission coefficient, the motion responses, and the mooring forces of the pontoon-plate floating breakwater are given. It is indicated that the relative width of the pontoon is an important factor influencing the wave transmission coefficient of the floating breakwater. The transmission coefficient decreases obviously as the relative width of the pontoon increases. The horizontal plates help to reduce the wave transmission over the floating breakwater. The motion responses and the mooring forces of the pontoon-plate floating breakwater are less than those of the pontoon floating breakwater. The mooring force at the offshore side is larger than that at the onshore side.

A DYNAMIC CROSS-LAYER DATA QUEUE MANAGEMENT APPROACH BASED ON PRIORITY FOR DELAY-TOLERANT MOBILE SENSOR NETWORKS

This paper presents a Dynamic Cross-layer Data Queue Management approach (DC-DQM) based on priority to address the priority deviation problem in Delay-Tolerant Mobile Sensor Networks (DT-MSNs). Receiver-driven data delivery scheme is used for fast response to data transfers, and a priority based interaction model is adopted to identify the data priority. Three interactive parameters are introduced to prioritize and dynamically manage data queue. The experimental results show that it can ameliorate data delivery ratio and achieve good performance in terms of average delay.

Time-frequency analysis of wheel-rail shock in the presence of wheel flat

Against the deficiencies of traditional time domain and frequency domain analysis in detecting wheel-rail （W-R） system hidden risks which wheel flats generate, the time-frequency characteristics of W-R shock caused by wheel flat are analyzed and the vehicle-rail dynamic model with wheel flat is investigated. The 10 degrees of freedom （DOF） vehicle model is built up. 90-DOF rail model is constructed. The wheel flat excitation model is built up. The vehicle-track coupling dynamic model including wheel flat excitation is set up through nonlinear Hertzian contact theory. The vertical accelerations of axle box are calculated at different speeds and flat sizes based on the vehicle-track coupling dynamic model with wheel flat. Frequency slice wavelet transform （FSWT） is employed to analyze time- frequency characteristics of axle box accelerations to detect the W-R noncontact risks, which the traditional time domain or frequency domain method does not analyze. The results show that the small flat size and high running speed lead to high frequency W-R impact. Large flat size and high running speed result in momentary loss of W-R contact, and there exist security risks between wheel and rail. The conclusion that the phase of axle box accelerations is same to W-R forces lays a theoretical foundation of monitoring W-R contact safety from axle box acceleration instead of traditional W-R force detection.

Effect of flash thermal annealing by pulsed current on rotational anisotropy in exchange-biased NiFe/FeMn film

In this paper, Ta/[NiFe（15 nm）/FeMn（10 nm）]/Ta exchange-biased bilayers are fabricated by magnetron sputtering, and their static and dynamic magnetic properties before and after rapid annealing treatment with pulsed current are charac- terized by using a vibrating sample magnetometer （VSM） and a vector network analyzer （VNA）, respectively. The exchange bias field He and static anisotropy field Hksta decrease from 118.45 Oe （10e = 79.5775 A.m-1） and 126.84 Oe at 0 V to 94.75 Oe and 102.31 Oe at 90 V, respectively, with increasing capacitor voltage, which supplies pulsed current to heat the sample. The effect of flash thermal annealing by pulsed current on the rotational anisotropy （Hrot）, the difference value between static and dynamic magnetic anisotropy, is investigated particularly. The highest Hrot is obtained in the sample annealing with 45-V capacitor （3300 μF） voltage. According to the anisotropic magnetoresistance measurements, it can be explained by the fact that the temperature of the sample is around the blocking temperature of the exchange bias system （Tb） at 45 V, the critical temperature where the formation of more unstable antiferromagnetic grains occurs.

An optimal time-varying sliding mode controller based on SDRE approach is proposed in this paper for re-entry vehicle attitude control in the presence of parametric uncertainties and external disturbances. Firstly, an optimal time-varying sliding surface is obtained through the minimization of a given performance index function and the philosophy of time-varying sliding mode control. Subsequently, a discontinuous control law is designed for guaranteeing the existence of the sliding mode throughout the entire response of the system. Therefore, the global robustness can be ensured. Simulation example is finally given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

Objective:Complex ureteral obstruction is refractory to conventional urological *** report describes a case of laparoscopic ureterolysis with simultaneous ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephroscopy for treating complex ureteral ***:Right-side multiple ureteral stones and complicating ureteral obstruction failed an initial attempt of ureteroscopy lithotripsy with simultaneous percutaneous nephroscopy in a 23-year-old *** ureterolysis with ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephroscopy was used simultaneously to dissect the periureteral adhesions with the patient placed in the Galdakao-modified supine Valdivia *** ureter was incised to allow the insertion of a ureteral catheter through the twisted ureter,and a guide wire was advanced into the pelvis using ureteroscopy.A double-J stent was placed into the right-side ureter using antegrade percutaneous ***:The laparoendoscopic procedure lasted 330 min with an estimated bleeding volume of 100 *** patient underwent an uneventful postoperative course,and postoperative followup radiography confirmed good positioning of the double-J *** double-J stent was removed 3 months after *** patient remained asymptomatic within a 13-month follow-up ***:Laparoscopic ureterolysis with simultaneous ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephroscopy is an effective and safe treatment option for complex ureteral obstruction.
