A double acid corrosion and subsequent hydrothermal treatment were used to fabricate a micro–nano-structured Ti substrates(Ti–M–N).Afterward,the mesoporous polydopamine(MPDA)nanoparticles as photothermal agent were prepared and immobilized on the surface of Ti–M–N samples,in order to obtain Ti–M–NMPDA *** micro–nanostructure properties and the photothermal effect of the modified Ti implant caused physical stress on the bacteria and the bacterial membrane damage,and eventually led to bacteria *** importantly,based on excellent bioactivity and cytocompatibility of mussel-inspired materials,MPDA promoted adhesion,proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells in ***,animal experiments in vivo further confirmed that the modified Ti implants could enhance osseointegration.

Synthesis of bis(amino)furans from biomass based 5-hydroxymethyl furfural

In this study we report a new reaction pathway in which the hydroxyl and the aldehyde groups of 5-hydroxymethyl furfural were aminated respectively. Hydroxyl group was aminated via Ritter reaction followed by direct reductive amination of aldehyde group. For the Ritter reaction of 5-hydroxymethyl furfural, mixture of trifluoromethane sulfonic acid and phosphoric anhydride showed good performance and the intermediate N-acyl-5-aminomethyl furfural with the highest yield of 89.1 wt% was *** of direct reductive amination of 2,5-bis（aminomethyl） furan was conducted and a yield of45.7 wt% was achieved. This study presents a simple way for preparing bis（amino）furans from renewable biomass based 5-hydroxymethyl furfural, which enriches the biorefinery concept from biomass.

Brown algae （Chromista, Ochrophyta, Phaeophyceae） are a large group of multicellular algae that play im-portant roles in the ocean＇s ecosystem and biodiversity. However, poor molecular bases for studying their phylogenetic evolutions and novel metabolic characteristics have hampered progress in the field. In this study, we sequenced the de novo transcriptome of 18 major species of brown algae in China, covering six orders and seven families, using the high-throughput sequencing platform Illumina HiSeq 2000. From the transcriptome data of these 18 species and publicly available genome data of Ectocarpus siliculosus and Phaeodactylum tricornutum, we identified 108 nuclear-generated orthologous genes and clarified the phy-logenetic relationships among these brown algae based on a multigene method. These brown algae could be separated into two clades：Clade Ishigeales-Dictyotales and Clade Ectocarpales-Laminariales-Desmares-tiale-Fucales. The former was at the base of the phylogenetic tree, indicating its early divergence, while the latter was divided into two branches, with Order Fucales diverging from Orders Ectocarpales, Laminariales, and Desmarestiale. In our analysis of taxonomy-contentious species, Sargassum fusiforme and Saccharina sculpera were found to be closely related to genera Sargassum and Saccharina, respectively, while Petalonia fascia showed possible relation to genus Scytosiphon. The study provided molecular evidence for the phylo-genetic taxonomy of brown algae.

Effect of seed particles content on texture formation of Si_3N_4 ceramics by gel-casting in a strong magnetic field

In this paper, the textured Si3N4 ceramics were prepared by adding seed particles during gel-casting in the magnetic field of 6 T, followed by pressureless sintering. The effect of pH on the stability and dispersibility of Si3N4 slurry and the effect of seed particles content on texture formation of SiaN4 ceramics were both studied. Those results showed that the slurry with good stability and dispersibility was obtained when pH was about 11.6. The a or b-axis of Si3N4 particles or crystals was aligned parallel to the direction of the magnetic field in the magnetic field of 6 T. The degree of texture of Si3N4 ceramics further increased during sintering. With the increasing of additional β-Si3N4 particles in the magnetic field of 6 T, the degree of texture increased from 0.19 without seed particles to 0.76 with 9% （mass fraction） seed particles. The increase of seed particles content promoted the texture formation of Si3N4 ceramics.

A green colonial microalgae Botryococcus braunii was hydrothermally processed under subcritical water conditions without the addition of catalysts,obtaining an oil yield as high as 68%.The higher heating value of liquefaction products is close to that of petroleum crude *** oil fraction from Botryococcus braunii liquefaction was specified for the first time,and the liquefaction mechanism was *** to the high lipid content of Botryococcus braunii,the liquefaction product distribution is quite distinct from other *** produced biocrudes contain9%oxygen,with oleic acid as the main *** derived from oleic acid and proteins are the major nitrogenates in the *** biocrude was processed using catalytic cracking and *** cracking mostly produces aromatics,while the majority of hydrotreating products are straight and branched *** oxygen content in the catalytic cracking products was very *** presence of amides in the hydrotreating feed changes the reaction pathway from hydrodecarboxylation to hydrodeoxygenation as a result of the competitive adsorption of amides on the active sites for *** processes show satisfactory denitrogenation *** cracking displays superior ability than hydrotreating with regards to the removal of oxygen.

In China,the traditional early and late season double rice(DR)system is declining accompanied by the fast increase of two newly developed cropping systems:ratoon rice(RR)and rice-crawfish(RC).Three methodologies:economic analysis,emergy evaluation and life cycle assessment(LCA)were employed to evaluate the economics and sustainability of this paddy cropping system *** analysis indicated that the income and profit of the RC system were far larger than those of RR and *** income to costs ratio of RR and RC increased by 25.5 and 122.7%compared with that of DR,*** had the highest emergy input thanks to increasing irrigation water,electricity,juvenile crawfish and forage input while RR showed a lower total emergy and nonrenewable emergy input,such as irrigation water,electricity,fertilizers and pesticides than *** environmental loading ratios decreased by 16.7-50.4%when cropping system changed from DR to RR or from DR to RC while the emergy sustainability indexes increased by 22.6-112.9%.The life cycle assessment indicated lower potential environmental impacts of RR and RC,whose total environmental impact indexes were 35.0-61.0%lower than that of *** yield of RR was comparable with that of DR in spite of less financial and emergy input of RR,but RC had a much lower grain yield(a 53.6%reduction compared to DR).These results suggested that RR is a suitable cropping system to achieve the food security,economic and environmental goals.

Worldwide,the incidence of major depressive disorder(MDD)is increasing annually,resulting in greater economic and social ***,the pathological mechanisms of MDD and the mechanisms underlying the effects of pharmacological treatments for MDD are complex and unclear,and additional diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for MDD still are *** currently widely accepted theories of MDD pathogenesis include the neurotransmitter and receptor hypothesis,hypothalamicpituitary-adrenal(HPA)axis hypothesis,cytokine hypothesis,neuroplasticity hypothesis and systemic influence hypothesis,but these hypothesis cannot completely explain the pathological mechanism of *** it is still hard to adopt only one hypothesis to completely reveal the pathogenesis of MDD,thus in recent years,great progress has been made in elucidating the roles of multiple organ interactions in the pathogenesis MDD and identifying novel therapeutic approaches and multitarget modulatory strategies,further revealing the disease features of ***,some newly discovered potential pharmacological targets and newly studied antidepressants have attracted widespread attention,some reagents have even been approved for clinical treatment and some novel therapeutic methods such as phototherapy and acupuncture have been discovered to have effective improvement for the depressive *** this work,we comprehensively summarize the latest research on the pathogenesis and diagnosis of MDD,preventive approaches and therapeutic medicines,as well as the related clinical trials.
