Effect of native carbon vacancies on evolution of defects in ZrC_(1-x)under He ion irradiation and annealing

The dynamic study of radiation-induced defects with annealing is critical for the material design for nextgeneration nuclear energy *** native vacancy could affect the development of defects,which lacks *** the present work,the as-hot pressed ZrC_(1-x)(x=0,0.15,0.3)ceramics which comprised crystallites of a few microns in size with different amounts of carbon vacancies were irradiated by 540 ke V He^(2+)ions at room temperature with a fluence of 1×10^(17)/cm^(2).The radiation-induced lattice expansion was found to be a common phenomenon in a sequence of ZrC_(0.85)≥ZrC_(1.0)>ZrC_(0.7).Both X-ray and electron diffractions confirmed maintenance of structural integrity without amorphization after *** the irradiated region,only“black-dot”type defects,i.e.,clusters of point defects were observed while no helium-induced cavities,cracks,or extended dislocations were *** as-irradiated ZrC_(1-x)were then annealed at different high *** annealing at 800℃,very tiny helium-induced cavities were found to be generated and the crystal lattice recovered to a great extent,especially for the sub-stoichiometric *** annealed at 1500℃,all the samples almost fully recovered the crystal lattices close to those of as-hot pressed ***,large cavities and extended dislocations were *** increasing amount of native carbon vacancies,the size of cavities increased while the length and density of extended dislocations *** changes of lattice parameters during irradiation and annealing processes have been interpreted by the kinetics of ***,the correlation between native vacancies and damage behavior is discussed.

As one of the main controlling factors of oil and gas accumulation,faults are closely related to the distribution of oil and gas *** how faults control petroliferous basins is particularly *** this work,we investigated the plane positions of major faults in the China seas and its adjacent areas using the normalized vertical derivative of the total horizontal derivative(NVDR-THDR)of the Bouguer gravity anomaly,the fusion results of gravity and magnetic anomalies,and the residual Bouguer gravity *** apparent depths of major faults in the China seas and its adjacent areas were inverted using the Tilt-Euler method based on the Bouguer gravity *** results show that the strikes of the faults in the China seas and its adjacent areas are mainly NE and NW,followed by EW,and *** them,the lengths of most ultra-crustal faults are in the range of 1000–3000 km,and their apparent depths lie between 10 km and 40 *** lengths of crustal faults lie between 300 km and 1000 km,and their apparent depths are between 0 km and 20 *** to the plane positions and apparent depths of the faults,we put forward the concept of fault influence factor for the first *** on this factor,the key areas for oil and gas exploration were found as follows:the east of South North China Basin in the intracontinental rift basins;the southeast region of East China Sea Shelf Basin,the Taixinan and Qiongdongnan basins in the continental margin rift basins;Zhongjiannan Basin in the strike-slip pull-apart basins;the Liyue,Beikang,and the Nanweixi basins in the rifted continental *** work provides valuable insights into oil and gas exploration,mineral resource exploration,and deep geological structure research in the China seas and its adjacent areas.

BACKGROUND The central mechanism of idiopathic tinnitus is related to hyperactivity of cortical and subcortical auditory and non-auditory *** transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS)is a well-tolerated,non-invasive potential treatment option for *** To investigate the changes of neural metabolic activity after rTMS in chronic idiopathic tinnitus(IT)*** THODS Eleven patients underwent rTMS(1 Hz,90%motor threshold,1000 stimuli/day for consecutive 10 d)on the left temporoparietal region *** handicap inventory(THI)and visual analogue score(VAS)were assessed at baseline and *** patients underwent 18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose(FDG)positron emission tomography to evaluate the neural metabolic *** were preprocessed using statistical parametric mapping and Gretna software to extract the regions of interest(ROls).The correlation between brain areas involved and THI scores was *** Baseline and posttreatment parameters showed no significant difference regarding THI score(t=1.019,P=0.342>0.05)and VAS(t=0.00,P=1.0>0.05).Regions with the highest FDG uptake were the right inferior temporal gyrus(ITG),right parahippocampa gyrus(PHG),right hippocampus,rectus gyrus,left middle frontal gyrus,and right inferior frontal gyrus in IT *** rTMS treatment,IT patients showed increased activities in the right PHG,right superior temporal gyrus,right superior frontal gyrus,anterior insula,left inferior parietal lobule,and left precentral gyrus,and decreased activities in the left postcentral gyrus and left *** ROIs in the right parahippocampa gyrus and right superior frontal gyrus were positively correlated with THI scores(r=0.737,P=0.037<0.05;r=0.735,P=0.038<0.05).CONCLUSION Our study showed that 1-Hz rTMS directed to the left temporo-parietal junction resulted no statistically significant symptom *** treatment,brain areas of the limbic and prefrontal system showed high neutral metabolic activity

The regulation of mRNA localization and local translation play vital roles in the maintenance of cellular structure and *** human neurodegenerative diseases,such as fragile X syndrome,amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,Alzheimer’s disease,and spinal muscular atrophy,have been characterized by pathological changes in neuronal axons,including abnormal mRNA translation,the loss of protein expression,or abnormal axon ***,the same protein and mRNA molecules have been associated with variable functions in different diseases due to differences in their interaction *** this review,we briefly examine fragile X syndrome,amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,Alzheimer’s disease,and spinal muscular atrophy,with a focus on disease pathogenesis with regard to local mRNA translation and axon transport,suggesting possible treatment directions.

Itch is an unpleasant sensation that provokes the desire to *** acute itch serves as a protec-tive system to warn the body of external irritating agents,chronic itch is a debilitating but poorly-treated clinical dis-ease leading to repetitive scratching and skin ***-ever,the neural mechanisms underlying the pathophysiol-ogy of chronic itch remain ***,we identified a cell type-dependent role of the anterior cingulate cortex(ACC)in controlling chronic itch-related excessive scratch-ing behaviors in ***,we delineated a neural circuit originating from excitatory neurons of the ACC to the ventral tegmental area(VTA)that was critically involved in chronic ***,we demonstrate that the ACC→VTA circuit also selectively modulated histaminergic acute ***,the ACC neurons were shown to predomi-nantly innervate the non-dopaminergic neurons of the *** together,our findings uncover a cortex-midbrain cir-cuit for chronic itch-evoked scratching behaviors and shed novel insights on therapeutic intervention.

EXPRESSION AND SWITCHING OF TH1/TH2 TYPE CYTOKINESGENE IN huMAN GLIOMAS

Objective To study the expression and switching of Thl/Th2 cytokines gene in human gliomas and its effects on occurring and developing of human gliomas. Methods Interleukin（IL）-2 and interferon-3, represent Thl type cytokines. IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, and IL-13 represent Th2 type cytokines. The gene expressions of Th1/Th2 cytokines in human glioma cells, glioma infiltrating lymphocytes, and glioma cell lines were detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction （RT-PCR）. The biological activity of cytokines in the supematant of glioma cell lines was assayed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay （ELISA） method. Results The total positive rates of Th1 and Th2 type cytokines gene in human glioma cells were 14.77% and 75%. The total positive rates of Th1 and Th2 type cytokines gene in glioma infiltrating lymphocytes were 22.73% and 68.17%. There was obviously predominant expression of Th2 type cytokines in human glioma tissues, glioma infiltrating lymphocytes, and glioma cell lines. There was no unbalanced expression of Th1/Th2 cytokines in normal brain tissues. Conclusion There is a predominant expression of Th2 type cytokines in human glioma cells. The switching of Th1/Th2 cytokines gene may play an important role in the occurring and developing of human gliomas.
