Association between physical activity energy expenditure and cardiometabolic risk factor clustering among Chinese adults in 2015

To understand the association between cardiometabolic risk factor(CMRF)clustering and physical activity(PA)levels,we included 86520 Chinese adults aged 18–64 years having at least one CMRF(hypertension,diabetes,dyslipidemia,or obesity)from the China Chronic Disease and Nutrition Surveillance survey in 2015,a nationally and provincially representative investigation with a multistage clustering sampling ***-reported PA information was collected with the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire through face-to-face *** view of the obesity epidemic in CMRF patients,PA energy expenditure(PAEE)per kilogram body weight was used,and was defined into four categories:(i)inactivity:0 kJ/kg/day;(ii)low activity:0–5 kJ/kg/day;(iii)moderate activity:6–11 kJ/kg/day;and(iv)vigorous activity:≥12 kJ/kg/*** estimated weighted prevalence(95%confidence interval[CI])of having 1,2,3,and 4 CMRFs was 60.57%(59.48%–61.67%),28.10%(27.40%–28.79%),9.82%(9.22%–15.42%)and 1.50%(1.37%–1.63%),*** rate(95%CI)of inactivity,low activity,moderate activity,and vigorous activity was 34.52%(32.69%–36.35%),22.22%(21.37%–23.37%),15.98%(15.38%–16.58%)and 27.28%(26.02%–28.53%),*** those having 2,3 and 4 CMRFs(compared to those having 1 CMRF),the adjusted odds ratio(95%CI)for moderate activity and vigorous activity were 0.91(0.85–0.98)and 0.92(0.85–0.99),0.87(0.80–0.95)and 0.84(0.77–0.92),and 0.77(0.67–0.89)and 0.85(0.72–1.00),*** conclusion,CMRF clustering was a pandemic among Chinese adults in 2015 and was inversely associated with PA ***(in kJ/kg/day)may be introduced into PA management practice,especially for populations with high body weight.

In this study,we investigate the detectability of the secondary spin in an extreme mass ratio inspiral(EMRI) system within a modified gravity model coupled with a scalar *** central black hole,which reduces to a Kerr one,is circularly spiralled by a scalar-charged spinning secondary body on the equatorial *** analysis reveals that the presence of the scalar field amplifies the secondary spin effect,allowing for a lower limit of the detectability and an improved resolution of the secondary spin when the scalar charge is sufficiently *** findings suggest that secondary spin detection is more feasible when the primary mass is not large,and TianQin is the optimal choice for detection.

Pulmonary fibrosis(PF)is a pathological change caused by repeated injuries and repair dysfunction of the alveolar *** previous study revealed that the residues Asn3 and Asn4 of peptide DR8(DHNNPQIR-NH_(2))could be modified to improve stability and antifibrotic activity,and the unnatural hydrophobic amino acids a-(4-pentenyl)-Ala and D-Ala were considered in this ***3penA(DHa-(4-pentenyl)-ANPQIR-NH_(2))was verified to have a longer half-life in serum and to significantly inhibit oxidative damage,epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)and fibrogenesis in vitro and in ***,DR3penA has a dosage advantage over pirfenidone through the conversion of drug bioavailability under different routes of administration.A mechanistic study revealed that DR3penA increased the expression of aquaporin 5(AQP5)by inhibiting the upregulation of miR-23b-5p and the mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)pathway,indicating that DR3penA may alleviate PF by regulating MAPK/miR-23b-5p/*** evaluation showed that DR3penA is a peptide drug without obvious toxicity or acute side effects and has significantly improved safety compared to ***,our findings suggest that DR3penA,as a novel and low-toxic peptide,has the potential to be a leading compound for PF therapy,which provides a foundation for the development of peptide drugs for fibrosis-related diseases.

The longitudinal study sought to examine the dynamic development of cognitive skills for reading among elementary-level students in China's Mainland. Two groups of students in first （n=164, mean age=6.65 years at first test） and second grade （n=202, mean age=7.73 years at first test） were followed on orthographic awareness, morphological awareness and rapid automatized naming （RAN） for two years. The children exhibited significant improvement in orthographic awareness, morphological awareness and RAN from grades 1 to 4. More importantly, to the orthographic and morphological awareness, while the children took a leap from grade 1 to 2 and grade 3 to 4, the progress developed at relatively slow rates from grade 2 to 3. In order to assure children＇s development of orthographic and morphological awareness, evidence-based orthographically and morphologically enhanced instruction is needed for Chinese children in the early elementary years, especially for those at the stage from grade 2 to 3.

This study was to optimize the exercise preconditioning(EP)intensity in protecting from exhaustive exercise-induced cardiac injury(EECI).A total of 98 male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into 7 groups(n=14):the control group(C),the exhaustive exercise group(EE)and the EP+EE groups,which include the V10(53.0%VO_(2max)),V15(58.4%VO_(2max)),V20(67.0%VO_(2max)),V26(74.0%VO_(2max))and V30(80.0%VO_(2max))*** the C group,the other groups were subjected to treadmill *** serum contents of N terminal pro B type natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP)and cardiac troponin I(cTn-I)were detected by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay method,ECG was recorded,heart function was detected by pressure volume catheter and the activities of mitochondrial electron transfer pathway(ET pathway)complexesⅠ,ⅡandⅣwere measured by high-resolution respiration *** to the EE group,the EP groups have shown decrease of NT-proBNP and cTn-I,improvement of mitochondrial respiratory function and car-diac *** to other EP groups,the V26 group has shown significant decrease of myocardial enzymes and improvement of mitochondrial *** correlation analysis showed the EP effect was proportional to EP intensity in the range of 53.0%VO_(2max)-74.0%VO_(2max).High intensity and long duration of exhaustive exercise caused cardiac injury and EP could decrease serum level of NT-proBNP and cTn-I,improve electrical derangement and the left ventricular function,and raise the activities of ET pathway complexesⅠ,ⅡandⅣ.The protection of EP on EECI was improved as the EP intensity was increased from 53.0%VO_(2max)to 74.0%VO_(2max)and when EP intensity was 74.0%VO_(2max),the effect was the most obvious among all the setting EP groups.

BACKGROUND Innominate artery aneurysms (IAAs) are relatively rare. Endovascular therapy has been an alternative to open surgery in some IAA cases, but open repair is still necessary in complicated cases. CASE SUMMARY We report a 35-year-old female who suffered from Takayasu’s arteritis. The patient did not get regular treatment, and IAA and right common carotid artery aneurysm developed, which complicated with occlusion of the left carotid artery, subclavian artery, and the initial part of the left vertebral artery. The patient also had moderate aortic valve insufficiency. With inflammation being controlled well, the patient received the surgery for arterial aneurysms of innominate and right common carotid arteries and aortic valve insufficiency. The shunts for cerebral blood supply were designed to protect the brain and the surgery was conducted successfully under extracorporeal circulation. CONCLUSION The case illustrates that open surgery may be appropriate for some complicated IAAs, and brain protection is important.

Effect of compression deformation on precipitation phase behavior of B-containing S31254 super austenitic stainless steel

Effects of compression deformation on the sigma-phase precipitation behavior of B-containing S31254 stainless steel after solution treatment were studied using the Gleeble compression test. The cold and hot processing characteristics of B-containing S31254 stainless steel were evaluated, and the results show that the speed of compression deformation increased the precipitation rate of the sigma phase, and the location of precipitation extended from the austenite grain boundary to the original hot rolling deformation area. During cold deformation at room temperature, the precipitation rate increased when the deformation reached at 40%. Deformation at 950℃ affected precipitation more obviously. At 1074 ℃, when the deformation reached 20%, the precipitated phases started increasing, and above this deformation range, precipitation began decreasing. Also, at 1074℃ the deformation accelerated the precipitation of sigma phase;but with deformation, there was a change in critical temperature for the sigma-phase excursion. The precipitation position of the sigma phase is strongly related to the area of the original hot rolling deformation. With an increase in the deformation amount, precipitates in this region appeared as coarse-grained, skeletal, and network-like features.
