The use of landscape covariates to estimate soil properties is not suitable for the areas of low relief due to the high variability of soil properties in similar topographic and vegetation conditions.A new method was implemented to map regional soil texture (in terms of sand,silt and clay contents) by hypothesizing that the change in the land surface diurnal temperature difference (DTD) is related to soil texture in case of a relatively homogeneous rainfall input.To examine this hypothesis,the DTDs from moderate resolution imagine spectroradiometer (MODIS) during a selected time period,i.e.,after a heavy rainfall between autumn harvest and autumn sowing,were classified using fuzzy-c-means (FCM) clustering.Six classes were generated,and for each class,the sand (> 0.05 mm),silt (0.002-0.05 mm) and clay (dered as the typical values of that class.A weighted average model was then used to digitally map soil texture.The results showed that the predicted map quite accurately reflected the regional soil variation.A validation dataset produced estimates of error for the predicted maps of sand,silt and clay contents at root mean of squared error values of 8.4%,7.8% and 2.3%,respectively,which is satisfactory in a practical context.This study thus provided a methodology that can help improve the accuracy and efficiency of soil texture mapping in plain areas using easily available data sources.

古建筑构件的信息编码是实现信息共享和实施信息系统的基础,可为古建筑数字化保护工作提供支撑。目前古建筑构件分类方式多参考现代建筑构件的分类方法,不能契合古建筑构件构造特点。通过对我国木构古建筑相关文献的分析与现状的调研,进行了木构古建筑构件信息分类编码体系的研究。研究表明,我国传统木构建筑具有“三段式”的整体特点,以“间”为单位、强调轴线对称的平面布局特点以及造型、空间布局、构件构造相统一的体系特点,进一步从木构古建筑特点中发掘出构件与空间归属关系。基于此提出了“三分”构件分类原则并设计了构件位置码制订规则。结合实例对提出的传统木构建筑构件分类方法进行了说明和运用。该构件信息分类编码体系具有较高的适应性、可扩延性以及兼容性,可为实现各地区传统木构建筑构件信息标准化以及古建筑数字化保护工作奠定基础。

It remains as a challenge for realizing efficient photo-responsive catalysts towards largescale degradation of organic pollutants under natural sunlight.This work reports a new pore engineering strategy for creating ultra-porous g-C_(3)N_(4) micro-tubes with an unprecedentedly high specific surface area of 152.96 m^(2)/g.This is mainly associated with releasing internal vapor pressure in the autoclave where the hydrothermal treatment of the urea/melamine mixture is processed.Supported by microscopic observation,porosity measurement and spectroscopic characterization,it is found that releasing the pressure at halfway of hydrothermal process is vital for forming exfoliated rod-like precursors and the de-aggregation of these rods presents substantial benefits on the production of mesopores on g-C_(3)N_(4) microtubes during the calcination of precursors.This offers a large number of reactive sites required by photocatalytic reaction.Coupling these micro-tubes with Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(X) nanosheets via electrostatic interaction yields a 1D/2D heterojunction with a close interfacial contact.The addition of metallically conductive Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(X) nanosheets accelerates the separation between electrons and holes,and also enhances the light absorption.All these merits of structural design lead to forming a group of highly efficient catalysts demonstrating an excellent photocatalytic degradation rate of k=0.0560 min^(-1)for RhB dyes under 100 mW/cm~2 visible light radiation that micks sunlight outdoors.This laboratory valuation is further supported by an outdoor test that shows a fast degradation rate of 0.0744 min^(-1)under natural sunlight.

OBJECTIVE To fabricate Silymarin(SM) nanosuspensions(NSs) and evaluate their protective effect on stress-induced liver injury. METHODS SM nanosuspensions were tailored by combination of the anti-solvent precipitation and high pressure homogenization(HPH); the formulations were optimized by central composite design. The pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of SM-NSs were also performed.RESULTS In light of the quadratic mathematical equations derived from the design of Expert Software,the optimal formulation of SM-NSs consisted of PVP 0.34% and F188 0.36%. The morphology of NSs was found to be spherical with a diameter of about 150 nm using transmission electron microscope(TEM)observation. The pharmacokinetics experiment demonstrated that oral administration of SM-NSs significantly increased its bioavailability compared to the coarse powder(Cmax: 9.03 ± 2.39 mg · L^(-1);AUMC_(0→∞):3757.35±227.19 mg·L^(-1)·h; AUC_(0→∞):171.84±26.61 mg·L^(-1)·h). In pharmacodynamics,it was found that restraint stress produced oxidative effects and increased serum AST and ALT levels in mice,both of which were significantly inhibited by SM and SM-NSs; in addition,administration of SM-NSs showed more effective prevention against acute liver injury than SM coarse suspensions(r^2=0.986,0.984,Pdes an effective approach to improving the property of SM,which can be used for treatment of liver diseases.

The performance of nanoparticles is often affected by particle size and morphology.Currently,electron microscopy or atomic force microscopy is typically utilized to determine the size and morphology of nanoparticles.However,there are issues such as difficult sample preparation,long processing times,and challenges in quantitative characterization.Therefore,it is of great significance to develop a fast,accu-rate,and statistical method to measure the size and morphology of nanoparticles.In this study,a new method,called polarized imaging dynamic light scattering(PIDLS),is proposed.The nanoparticles are irradiated with a vertical linearly polarized laser beam,and a polarization camera collected the dynamic light scattering images of particles at four different polarization directions(0°,45°,90°,and 135°)at a scattering angle of 90°.The average particle size and distribution are obtained using the imaging dy-namic light scattering method at 0°polarization direction,and the morphology of the particles is ob-tained based on the depolarization patterns of the scattered light.The optical sphericityΦis defined based on the degree of linear polarization(DoLP).It is also implemented for the quantitative evaluation of the sphericity of the nanoparticles,including spherical,octahedral,nanoplate,nanorod,and linear ones.Together with the Poincarésphere parameterψ,the morphology of the nanoparticles can be roughly identified.In addition,PIDLS enables the measurement of particle size and morphology distributions simultaneously for evaluating the uniformity of particles.The effectiveness of PIDLS is verified by the measurement of five kinds of industrial titanium dioxide as well.

Although antipsychotics that act via monoaminergic neurotransmitter modulation have considera ble therapeutic effect,they cannot completely relieve clinical symptoms in patients suffering from psychiatric disorde rs.This may be attributed to the limited range of neurotransmitters that are regulated by psychotropic drugs.Recent findings indicate the need for investigation of psychotropic medications that target less-studied neurotransmitte rs.Among these candidate neurotransmitters,lactate is developing from being a waste metabolite to a glial-neuronal signaling molecule in recent years.Previous studies have suggested that cerebral lactate levels change considerably in numerous psychiatric illnesses;animal experiments have also shown that the supply of exogenous la ctate exerts an antidepressant effect.In this review,we have described how medications targeting newer neurotransmitte rs offer promise in psychiatric diseases;we have also summarized the advances in the use of lactate(and its corresponding signaling pathways)as a signaling molecule.In addition,we have described the alterations in brain lactate levels in depression,anxiety,bipolar disorder,and schizophrenia and have indicated the challenges that need to be overcome before brain lactate can be used as a therapeutic target in psychopharmacology.

Intestinal failure-associated liver disease(IFALD)is a common complication of long-term parenteral nutrition that is associated with significant morbidity and mortality.It is mainly characterized by cholestasis in children and steatohepatitis in adults.Unfortunately,there is no effective approach to prevent or reverse the disease.Regulated cell death(RCD)represents a fundamental biological paradigm that determines the outcome of a variety of liver diseases.Nowadays cell death is reclassified into several types,based on the mechanisms and morphological phenotypes.Emerging evidence has linked different modes of RCD,such as apoptosis,necroptosis,ferroptosis,and pyroptosis to the pathogenesis of liver diseases.Recent studies have shown that different modes of RCD are present in animal models and patients with IFALD.Understanding the pathogenic roles of cell death may help uncover the underlying mechanisms and develop novel therapeutic strategies in IFALD.In this review,we discuss the current knowledge on how RCD may link to the pathogenesis of IFALD.We highlight examples of cell death-targeted interventions aiming to attenuate the disease,and provide perspectives for future basic and translational research in the field.

BACKGROUND The incidence of gastric cancer remains high,and it is the sixth most common cancer and the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide.Oral contrastenhanced ultrasonography is a simple,non-invasive,and painless method for the diagnosis of gastric tumors.AIM To explore the diagnostic value of oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography for the detection of gastric tumors.METHODS The screening results based on oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography and electronic gastroscopy were compared with those of the postoperative pathological examination.RESULTS Among 42 patients with gastric tumors enrolled in the study,the diagnostic accordance rate was 95.2%for oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography(n=40)and 90.5%for electronic gastroscopy(n=38)compared with postoperative pathological examination.The Kappa value of consistency test with pathological findings was 0.812 for oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography and 0.718 for electronic gastroscopy,and there was no significant difference between them(P=0.397).For the TNM staging of gastric tumors,the accuracy rate of oral contrast enhanced ultrasonography was 81.9%for the overall T staging and 50%,77.8%,100%,and 100%for T1,T2,T3,and T4 staging,respectively.The sensitivity and specificity were both 100%for stages T3 and T4.The diagnostic accuracy rate of oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography was 93.8%,80%,100%,and 100%for stages N0,N1-N3,M0,and M1,respectively.CONCLUSION The accordance rate of qualitative diagnosis by oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography is comparable to that of gastroscopy,and it could be used as the preferred method for the early screening of gastric tumors.
