Use of forestry waste as an alternative raw material for generating metallurgical coke

Forestry waste(FW)is a significant renewable energy source in *** substitution of coal blends(BC)with forestry waste to produce metallurgical coke was investigated aiming at expanding alternative resources and reducing CO_(2)emissions in ironmaking *** BC with different ratios of FW were carbonized in a fixed bed reactor,and the physicochemical structure of the coke derived from FW/BC co-carbonization was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,solid-state^(13)C nuclear magnetic resonance,optical microscopy,and scanning electron *** results reveal that the suitable incorporation of FW in BC is 10 wt.%,and the index of coke quality exhibits a good correlation with the optical anisotropy index and the aromaticity of the as-obtained *** partial substitution of BC with FW exhibits potential benefits for colloid formation,owing to the higher hydrogen in ***,as the substitution ratio of BC with FW increases,it inhibits coke agglomeration due to more tortuous stacked structures formation during volatile releasing ***,it was identified that the substitution of higher BC ratios with FW results in the partial replacement of aromatic carbons by oxygenlinked carbons and aliphatic *** substitution leads to a reduction in the aromaticity of the as-obtained coke.

Vibration safety assessment and parameter analysis of buried oil pipelines based on vibration isolation holes under strong surface impact

Strong surface impact will produce strong vibration,which will pose a threat to the safety of nearby buried pipelines and other important lifeline *** on the verified numerical method,a comprehensive numerical parameter analysis is conducted on the key influencing factors of the vibration isolation hole(VIH),which include hole diameter,hole net spacing,hole depth,hole number,hole arrangement,and soil *** results indicate that a smaller ratio of net spacing to hole diameter,the deeper the hole,the multi-row hole,the hole adoption of staggered arrangements,and better site soil conditions can enhance the efficiency of the VIH *** average maximum vibration reduction efficiency within the vibration isolation area can reach 42.2%.The vibration safety of adjacent oil pipelines during a dynamic compaction projection was evaluated according to existing standards,and the measurement of the VIH was recommended to reduce excessive *** single-row vibration isolation scheme and three-row staggered arrangement with the same hole parameters are suggested according to different *** research findings can serve as a reference for the vibration safety analysis,assessment,and control of adjacent underground facilities under the influence of strong surface impact loads.

Iron-nitrogen-doped porous carbon absorbers constructed from hypercrosslinked ferrocene polymers for efficient electromagnetic wave absorption

Herein,an external crosslinker facilitated the hypercrosslinking of ferrocene and a nitrogen heterocyclic compound(either melamine or imidazole)through a direct Friedel-Crafts reaction,which led to the formation of nitrogen-containing hypercrosslinked fer-rocene polymer precursors(HCP-FCs).Subsequent carbonization of these precursors results in the production of iron-nitrogen-doped por-ous carbon absorbers(Fe-NPCs).The Fe-NPCs demonstrate a porous structure comprising aggregated nanotubes and *** porosity of this structure can be modulated by adjusting the iron and nitrogen contents to optimize impedance *** uniform dis-tribution of Fe-N_(x)C,N dipoles,andα-Fe within the carbon matrix can be ensured by using hypercrosslinked ferrocenes in constructing porous carbon,providing the absorber with numerous polarization sites and a conductive *** electromagnetic wave absorption performance of the specially designed Fe-NPC-M_(2)absorbers is satisfactory,revealing a minimum reflection loss of-55.3 dB at 2.5 mm and an effective absorption bandwidth of 6.00 GHz at 2.0 *** utilizing hypercrosslinked polymers(HCPs)as precursors,a novel method for developing highly efficient carbon-based absorbing agents is introduced in this research.

AIM:To investigate the underlying factors by establishing a new paradigm for assessing control ability under stereopsis testing ***:This was a prospective observational *** evaluated the control ability of intermittent exotropia(IXT)patients in three conditions:natural 2D optotype viewing,2D optotype viewing with polarized glasses,and 3D optotype viewing with polarized *** with a smartphone,we captured videos to analyze the accurate time of spontaneous exodeviation and subsequent realignment before and after breaking ***,the correlation of stereopsis were also ***:A total of 48 patients(age range:4-33y;54.17%male)participated in the *** viewing 3D optotypes with polarized glasses,their median control scores were 1(interquartile range,0-4)at distance and 0(0-1)at *** scores were significantly better than those observed under natural viewing conditions,which were 2.5(1-5)at a distance and 1(0-3)at near(Friedman test,P=0.049).Furthermore,those subjects who exhibited exophoria(realignment within 2 seconds)while viewing 3D optotypes with polarized glasses were more likely to have measurable stereo vision(Kendall’sτb=-0.344,P=0.018).CONCLUSION:IXT patients exhibit enhanced control ability when using polarized glasses to view 3D optotypes,notably improving realignment *** expands our understanding of current tests and offers a potentially sensitive method for assessing IXT severity.

Surface modification of fabrics using dielectric barrier discharge plasma for improved antifouling performance

Surface modification of fabrics is an effective way to endow them with antifouling properties while still maintaining their key advantages such as comfort,softness and ***,an atmospheric pressure dielectric barrier discharge(DBD)plasma method is demonstrated for the processing of silk fabrics using 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorodecyltriethoxysilane(PFDS)as the *** results showed the successful grafting of PFDS groups onto the surface of silk fabrics without causing ***,the gas temperature is rather low during the whole processing procedure,suggesting the non-equilibrium characteristics of DBD *** influence on fabrics of the processing parameters(PFDS concentration,plasma treatment time and plasma discharge power)was systematically *** optimum processing condition was determined to be a PFDS concentration of 8wt%,a plasma processing time of 40 s and a plasma power of 11.87 ***,with prolonged plasma processing time or enhanced plasma power,the plasma-grafted PFDS films could be *** study revealed that plasma processing of silk fabrics with PFDS would lead to a change in their chemical composition and surface *** a result,the surface energy of the fabrics was reduced,accompanied by improved water and oil repellency as well as enhanced antifouling ***,the plasma-grafted PFDS films also had good durability and *** extending the method to polyester and wool against different oil-/water-based stains,the DBD plasma surface modification technique demonstrated good versatility in improving the antifouling properties of *** work provides guidance for the surface modification of fabrics using DBD plasma to confer them with desirable functionalities.

Software-defined process-near-memory architecture using 3D hybrid bonding integration

With the unprecedented explosive growing amount of global data, the development of computing chips, which encounter bottlenecks such as power wall and memory wall, cannot satisfy the demanding requirement. This work proposes a software-defined process-near-memory(SDPNM) computing architecture implemented using 3D hybrid bonding *** software-defined chip architecture, featuring spatial computations and dynamic reconfiguration, innovates in a top-down manner to achieve high energy efficiency while maintaining flexibility after fabrication. The process-near-memory integration further advances the SDNPM chip in a bottom-up way to reduce the energy consumption of data movement while improving the bandwidth. Utilizing a relatively mature fabrication and bonding process can result in feasible solutions for both data-intensive and compute-intensive applications including digital signal processing and artificial intelligence. The logic die is fabricated in the SMIC 40 nm process and the DRAM die is fabricated in the PSMC 25 nm process. The hybrid bonding is implemented by XMC. The experimental results show that the energy efficiency of the proposed SDPNM chip is 33.1× better than the state-of-the-art FPGA ranging from 8.2× to 104.1×.

Spatial Differentiation Characteristics and Driving Factors of Soil Organic Carbon in Various Landscape Complexes

Investigating the spatial differentiation characteristics of soil organic carbon（SOC）in regional agricultural land and analyzing its driving factors are important for screening auxiliary variables for SOC prediction in agricultural land and the accurate prediction of soil carbon stock. This study considered SOC in different types of agricultural land landscape complexes in Beijing as the research object. The differences in SOC content and its stock in different landscape complexes were explored based on the long-term positional monitoring data on the quality of cultivated land in Beijing and the field sampling and testing data. Utilizing multi-source and open-source data as environmental variables that affected SOC spatial differentiation，we explored the quantitative and spatial relationships between SOC and climate，topography，soil parent material，land use，and biomass factors in different landscape complexes through GeoDetector and geographically weighted regression modeling. Additionally，we constructed a structural equation model to reveal the pathways that influence each driving factor on SOC in terms of direct and indirect effects. Ultimately，the major controlling factors of SOC were identified in the study area. The results showed that：① The mean values of ω（SOC）for various types of landscape complexes in the study area ranged from 6.23 to 28.26 g·kg−1，with a variation coefficient of 3.80% to 33.92%，showing spatial heterogeneity. ② Climate，topography，soil parent material，land type，and biomass factors contributed to SOC at highly significant levels（P © 2025 Science Press.
