Different hydrolysis and extraction procedures have been studied for the determination of drugs of abuse in hair samples. the results showed that acid and enzymatic hydrolysis gave high extraction recoveries for 6-monoacetylmorphine, morphine, codeine and heroin. Enzymatic hydrolysis was more expensive. After alkaline hydrolysis, 6-monoacetylmorphine, a unique proof of heroin abuse, could not be detected and after methanolic extraction, the extract was dirty and the obtained chromatogram showed an interfering background. It is concluded that acid hydrolysis is the extraction method of choice.

Intestine derived lipopolysaccharide(LPS)is closely related to systemic inflammation and disorders,yet little is known about its roles in the weanling stress of piglets and its potential as a nutritional intervention *** study aimed to investigate the potential of essential oils(EO)and organic acids(OA)in mitigating weaning stress in piglets by modulating the circulation of intestine derived ***-two weaned piglets at 21 d old with body weight of 8.12±0.168 kg were randomly divided into a control group(CON)and an experimental group,each consisting of six pens with six piglets per pen,and were fed either a basal diet or a basal diet supplemented with 3 kg/t OA+500 g/t EO(EO+OA).On the 14th day of the feeding trial,12 weaned piglets were randomly selected from the CON group,and 6 piglets were selected from the experimental *** on diet composition and stress treatment,these 18 piglets were divided into the following three groups:1)CON *** were fed a basal diet and received an intraperitoneal injection of saline as a control.2)LPS *** were fed a basal diet and received an intraperitoneal injection of LPS(100μg/kg body weight)to induce stress.3)EO+OA+LPS *** were fed a basal diet supplemented with EO and OA and received an intraperitoneal injection of LPS(100μg/kg body weight)to induce *** results showed that EO+OA significantly ameliorated the oxidative imbalance and inflammation disorder induced by LPS in piglets'serum and intestine by inhibiting the activation of the Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)/nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)/mitogen-activated protein kinase(maPK)signaling ***,compared to the LPS group,supplementation with EO+OA restored LPS-induced reductions in Bcl-2 protein expression in the piglets'intestines(Pmage;it also enhanced both the protein expression and relative gene expression of the tight junction proteins occludin and claudin-1(P<0.05),and redu

this study investigates the carrier transport of heterojunction channel in oxide semiconductor thin-film transistor(TFT)using the elevated-metal metal-oxide(EMMO)architecture and indium−zinc oxide(InZnO).the heterojunction band diagram of InZnO bilayer was modified by the cation composition to form the two-dimensional electron gas(2DEG)at the interface quantum well,as verified using a metal−insulator−semiconductor(MIS)*** the 2DEG indeed contributes to a higher mobility than the monolayer channel,the competition and cooperation between the gate field and the built-in field strongly affect such mobility-boosting effect,originating from the carrier inelastic collision at the heterojunction interface and the gate field-induced suppression of quantum *** from the proper energy-band engineering,a high mobility of 84.3 cm2·V^(−1)·s^(−1),a decent threshold voltage(V_(th))of−6.5 V,and a steep subthreshold swing(SS)of 0.29 V/dec were obtained in InZnO-based heterojunction TFT.

Background Craniocervical junction(CCJ)arteriovenous fistulas(AVFs)are *** current treatment strategies for AVFs with different angioarchitecture need to be *** present study aimed to analyse the correlation between angioarchitecture and clinical characteristics,share our experience in treating this disease and identify risk factors associated with subarachnoid haemorrhage(SAH)and poor *** A total of 198 consecutive patients with CCJ AVFs from our neurosurgical centre were retrospectively *** patients were grouped according to their clinical manifestations,and their baseline clinical characteristics,angioarchitecture,treatment strategies and outcomes were *** the patients’median age was 56 years(IQR 47–62 years).the majority of patients were men with 166(83.8%)*** most common clinical manifestation was SAH(52.0%),followed by venous hypertensive myelopathy(VHM)(45.5%).the most common CCJ AVFs type was dural AVF,with 132(63.5%)*** most frequent fistula location was C-1(68.7%)and dural branch of vertebral artery(70.2%)was the most involved arterial feeders for *** most common direction of venous drainage was descending intradural drainage(40.9%),followed by ascending intradural drainage(36.5%).Microsurgery was the most common treatment strategy applied for 151(76.3%)patients,15(7.6%)patients were treated with interventional embolisation only,and 27(13.6%)received both interventional embolisation and microsurgical *** learning curve for microsurgery only was analysed by cumulative summation method,and the turning point was the 70th case,and blood loss in post-group was lower than that in pre-group(p=0.034).At the last follow-up,there were 155(78.3%)patients with favourable outcomes(modified Rankin Scale(mRS)the clinical manifestation(OR 4.102,95%CI 2.108 to 7.982,p<0.001)and pretreatment mRS≥3(OR 3.127,95%CI 1.617 to 6.047,p<0
