Soil salinization is a land degradation p.ocess that leads to reduced agricultural yields. This study investigated the method that can best p.edict electrical conductivity (EC) in dry soils using individual bands, a normalized difference salinity index (NDSI), p.rtial least squares regression (p.SR), and bagging p.SR. Soil sp.ctral reflectance of dried, ground, and sieved soil samp.es containing varying amounts of EC w.s measured using an ASD FieldSp.c sp.ctrometer in a darkroom. p.edictive models w.re comp.ted using a training dataset. An indep.ndent validation dataset w.s used to validate the models. The results show.d that good p.edictions could be made based on bagging p.SR using first derivative reflectance (validation R2 = 0.85), p.SR using untransformed reflectance (validation R2 = 0.70), NDSI (validation R2 = 0.65), and the untransformed individual band at 2257 nm (validation R2 = 0.60) p.edictive models. These suggested the p.tential of map.ing soil salinity using airborne and/or satellite hyp.rsp.ctral data during dry seasons.

Background:An extraordinary long-term running p.rformance may benefit from low.dynamic loads and a high load-bearing *** extraordinary runner(age=55 years,height=1.81 m,mass=92 kg) scheduled a marathon a day for 100 consecutive *** running biomechanics and bone density w.re investigated to better understand successful long-term running in the master ***:Overground running gait analysis and bone densitometry w.re conducted before the marathon-a-day challenge and near its *** case’s running biomechanics w.re comp.red p.e-challenge to 31 runners w.o w.re matched by a similar foot strike ***:The case’s p.ak vertical loading rate(Δx=-61.9 body w.ight(Bw./s or-57%),p.ak vertical ground reaction force(Δx=-0.38 Bw.or-15%),and p.ak braking force(Δx=-0.118 Bw.or-31%) w.re remarkably low.r(p.0.05) than the control group.at~3.3 m/*** relatively low.loading-related magnitudes w.re attributed to a remarkably high duty factor(0.41) at the evaluated *** foot strike angle of the marathoner(29.5°) w.s greater than that of the control group.affecting the p.ak vertical loading *** p.w.rs in the low.r extremity w.re also remarkably low.in the case ***:p.ak p.w.r of knee absorp.ion(Δx=-9.16 w.tt/kg or-48%) and ankle generation(Δx=-3.17 w.tt/kg or-30%).The bone mineral density increased to 1.245 g/cm;(+2.98%) near comp.etion of the challenge,w.ereas the force characteristics show.d no statistically significant ***:The remarkable p.ttern of the high-mileage runner may be useful in develop.ng or evaluating load-shifting strategies in distance running.

Mitochondria are crucial p.ayers in the signaling and metabolic homeostasis of the p.ant cell. The molecular comp.nents that orchestrate the underlying p.ocesses, how.ver, are largely unknow.. Using a chemical biology ap.roach, w. exp.oited the resp.nsiveness of Arabidop.is UDp.glucosyltransferase-encoding UGT74E2 tow.rds mitochondrial p.r- turbation in order to look for novel mechanisms regulating mitochondria-to-nucleus communication. The most p.tent inducers of UGT74E2 shared a （2-furyl）acrylate （FAA） substructure that negatively affected mitochondrial function and w.s identified before as an auxin transcrip.ional inhibitor. Based on these p.emises, w. demonstrated that p.rturbed mitochondria negatively affect the auxin signaling machinery. Moreover, chemical p.rturbation of p.lar auxin transp.rt and auxin biosynthesis w.s sufficient to induce mitochondrial retrograde markers and their transcrip. abundance w.s constitutively elevated in the absence of the auxin transcrip.ional activators ARF7 and ARF19.

Sheep.p.x is an infectious viral disease that affects sp.cifically sheep.and it is caused by the Cap.ip.xvirus *** clinical signs include fever,diarrhea,difficulty breathing,nodules,lung lesions and *** Morocco,the 2010 ep.demic of sheep.p.x w.s characterized by the emergence of a nodular form of the *** local strain w.s isolated and the analysis of affected animals w.s p.sitively confirmed by virus isolation and real-time p.lymerase chain reaction(RT-p.R).The ep.demiological analysis of 911 data records show.d that the virus is endemic in the country;an average of 350 cases p.r year w.th an ep.zootic evolution w.s observed in *** incidence varies dep.nding on p.ovinces and the disease ap.ears confined to the central and the eastern regions of the country w.ere a very intensive sheep.breeding activity is taking *** statistical analysis show.d that there is a p.sitive correlation betw.en the endemicity and the significant factor of the rural market(p.0.006).The annual average morbidity and mortality rates w.re 2.96%(1.26%to 4.32%)and 0.71%(0.41%to 0.94%),*** clinical findings associated to the ep.demiological data analysis confirmed the p.esence of sheep.p.x in its nodular form and suggest that new.p.thogenic strains may have been introduced from *** p.rp.se of this w.rk w.s to p.ovide a better descrip.ion of the sp.tiotemp.ral evolution of sheep.p.x disease based on some ep.demiological indicators and to p.t forw.rd p.ausible hyp.theses regarding the emergence of the virus in order to imp.ement an adequate control strategy.
