On the Fractal Mechanism of Interrelation Between the Genesis, Size and Composition of Atmospheric particulate Matters in Different Regions of the Earth

Experimental data from the National Air Surveillance Network of Japan from 1974 to 1996 and from inde-pendent measurements performed simultaneously in the regions of Ljubljana (Slovenia), Odessa (Ukraine) and the Ukrainian “Academician Vernadsky” Antarctic station (64o15W;65o15S), where the air elemental composition was determined by the standard method of atmospheric particulate matter (pM) collection on nucleopore filters and subsequent neutron activation analysis, were analyzed. Comparative analysis of dif-ferent pairs of atmospheric pM element concentration data sets, measured in different regions of the Earth, revealed a stable linear (on a logarithmic scale) correlation, showing a power law increase of every atmos-pheric pM element mass and simultaneously the cause of this increase – fractal nature of atmospheric pM genesis. Within the framework of multifractal geometry we show that the mass (volume) of atmospheric pM elemental components has a log normal distribution, which on a logarithmic scale with respect to the random variable (elemental component mass) is identical to normal distribution. This means that the parameters of two-dimensional normal distribution with respect to corresponding atmospheric pM-multifractal elemental components measured in different regions, are a priory connected by equations of direct and inverse linear regression, and the experimental manifestation of this fact is the linear correlation between the concentra-tions of the same elemental components in different sets of experimental atmospheric pM data.

Advances in small animal mesentery models for in vivo flow cytometry,dynamic microscopy,and drug screening

Using animal mesentery with intravital optical microscopy is a well-established experimental model for studying blood and lymph microcirculation in vivo. Recent advances in cell biology and optical techniques provide the basis for extending this model for new applications, which should generate significantly improved experimental data. This review summarizes the achievements in this specific area, including in vivo label-free blood and lymph photothermal flow cytometry, super-sensitive fluorescence image cytometry, light scattering and speckle flow cytometry, microvessel dynamic microscopy, infrared (IR) angiography, and high-speed imaging of individual cells in fast flow. The capabilities of these techniques, using the rat mesentery model, were demonstrated in various studies; e.g., real-time quantitative detection of circulating and migrating individual blood and cancer cells, studies on vascular dynamics with a focus on lymphatics under normal conditions and under different interventions (e.g. lasers, drugs, nicotine), assessment of lymphatic disturbances from experimental lymphedema, monitoring cell traffic between blood and lymph systems, and high-speed imaging of cell transient deformability in flow. In particular, the obtained results demonstrated that individual cell transportation in living organisms depends on cell type (e.g., normal blood or leukemic cells), the cell’s functional state (e.g., live, apoptotic, or necrotic), and the functional status of the organism. possible future applications, including in vivo early diagnosis and prevention of disease, monitoring immune response and apoptosis, chemo- and radio-sensitivity tests, and drug screening, are also discussed.

Selection of shaped charges parameters for producing aluminum particles with velocities in the range of 2.5-16 km/s

Testing rocket and space technology objects in ground conditions for resistance to the impact of meteoroids and fragments of space debris can be carried out using shaped charges. To substantiate the design parameters of shaped charges that ensure the formation of aluminum particles in a wide velocity range(from 2.5 to 16 km/s), numerical modeling of the formation process was carried out within the framework of a two-dimensional axisymmetric problem of continuum mechanics using three different computing codes to increase the reliability of the results. The calculations consider shaped charges with a diameter of 20-100 mm with aluminum liners of various shapes. It is shown that the formation of particles with velocities close to the lower limit of the considered range is ensured by gently sloping segmental liners of degressive thickness. To form higher-velocity particles with velocities over 5 km/s, it is proposed to use combined liners, the jet-forming part of which has the shape of a hemisphere of constant thickness or the shape of a semi-ellipsoid or semi-superellipsoid of rotation of degressive thickness.

Advanced virtual prototyping for cyber-physical systems using RISC-V: implementation, verification and challenges

Virtual prototypes(Vps) are crucial in today’s design flow. Vps are predominantly created in System C transaction-level modeling(TLM) and are leveraged for early software development and other system-level use cases. Recently, virtual prototyping has been introduced for the emerging RISC-V instruction set architecture(ISA) and become an important piece of the growing RISC-V ecosystem. In this paper, we present enhanced virtual prototyping solutions tailored for RISC-V. The foundation is an advanced open source RISC-V Vp implemented in System C TLM and designed as a configurable and extensible *** scales from small bare-metal systems to large multi-core systems that run applications on top of the Linux operating system. Based on the RISC-V Vp, this paper also discusses advanced Vp-based verification approaches and open challenges. In combination, we provide for the first time an integrated and unified overview and perspective on advanced virtual prototyping for RISC-V.

Herein,a physical and mathematical model of the voltage−current characteristics of a p−n heterostructure with quantum wells(QWs)is prepared using the Sah−Noyce−Shockley(SNS)recombination mechanism to show the SNS recombination rate of the correction function of the distribution of QWs in the space charge region of diode configuration.A comparison of the model voltage−current characteristics(VCCs)with the experimental ones reveals their *** technological parameters of the structure of the VCC model are determined experimentally using a nondestructive capacitive approach for determining the impurity distribution profile in the active region of the diode structure with a profile depth resolution of up to 10Å.The correction function in the expression of the recombination rate shows the possibility of determining the derivative of the VCCs of structures with QWs with a nonideality factor of up to 4.

Unveiling the Nature of polar-ring Galaxies from Deep Imaging

General structural properties and low surface brightness tidal features hold important clues to the formation of *** this paper,we study a sample of polar-ring galaxies(pRGs)based on optical imaging from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Stripe 82 and other deep *** investigate the deepest images of candidates for pRGs to *** carry out photometric decomposition on the host galaxies and associated polar structures that allows us to derive the structural properties of both *** are able to detect very faint tidal structures around most pRGs in our *** several galaxies,we can directly observe the formation of the polar ring due to merging,which is manifested in debris of the victim galaxy and an arc-like polar structure made up of its *** a few cases,we can discern signs of tidal *** results obtained indicate that the gravitational interaction and merging of galaxies are the most plausible mechanisms for the formation of pRGs.

On finite 2-groups all of whose subgroups are mutually isomorphic

In this paper we investigate the title groups which we call isomaximal. We give the list of all isomaximal 2-groups with abelian maximal subgroups. Further, we prove some properties of isomaximal 2-groups with nonabelian maximal subgroups. After that, we investigate the structure of isomaximal groups of order less than 64. Finally, in Theorem 14. we show that the minimal nonmetacyclic group of order 32 possesses a unique isomaximal extension of order 64.

Some Limit Theorems for a particle System of Single point Catalytic Branching Random Walks

We study the scaling limit for a catalytic branching particle system whose particles perform random walks on Z and can branch at 0 only. Varying the initial （finite） number of particles, we get for this system different limiting distributions. To be more specific, suppose that initially there are n^β particles and consider the scaled process Zt^n（·） = Znt（√n·）, where Zt is the measure-valued process 1 and to a representing the original particle system. We prove that Ztn converges to 0 when β 〈1/4 and to a nondegenerate discrete distribution when β=1/*** addition,if 1/4〈β〈1/2 then n-^（2β-1/2）Zt^n converges to a random limit,while if β 〉21then n^-βZtn converges to a deterministic limit.
