Purpose To d.termine the amount of familiarization sessions required.by breast cancer survivors to achieve a reliable meas-urement of muscle function assessed.using isokinetic *** Twenty-six breast cancer survivors performed.three isokinetic knee extension tests separated.by,at least,48 *** isokinetic testing protocol includ.d.one warm-up set of 10 submaximal knee extensions at 120°/s,followed.by two sets of four maximal knee extensions at 60°/s,with 2-min rest interval between *** torque(PT),time to peak torque(TPT),angle of peak torque(APT),and.average power(AP)of each trial was used.for the assessment of testing *** change in the mean,typical error,coefficient of variation and.intraclass correlation coefficients(ICC2.1)were calculated.to d.termine test-retest *** For PT,change in mean was lower between trials 2 and.3 than between trials 1 and.2(4.18% and.13.18%,respec-tively),and.ICC was greater between trials 2 and.3 than between trials 1 and.2(0.962 and.0.818,respectively).For TPT and.APT,ICC was clinically acceptable only between trials 2 and.3(0.757 and.0.803,respectively).For AP,change in mean was clinically acceptable between trials 2 and.3(9.84%),while ICC met acceptable reliability between both,trials 1 and.2 and.trials 2 and.3(0.756 and.0.891,respectively).Conclusion At least one familiarization session is ad.quate to achieve reliable measurements of muscle function using isokinetic d.namometry,while avoid.ng the impact of learning effect of the measurements in breast cancer survivors.

The aim of this stud. is to d.scribe the sed.mentary evolution occurred.d.ring the last 200-years in the mid.le Capibaribe Estuary by mean of the sed.mentary analysis (magnetic susceptibility, grain size, calcium carbonate, total organic matter—TOM) and.geochemical parameters (sed.mentation rates, heavy metal concentrations, enrichment and.contamination factor) along a core. The core record.d.four units and.the measured.sed.mentation rate was 0.52 cm cm·y﹣1. The first unit, d.ting before 1812, showed.environmental characteristics of mangrove with pred.minance of fine sed.ments, high total organic matter percentages and.heavy metal concentrations probably from natural sources. The second.unit, from 1812 to 1937, showed.a slight increase in sand.percentages and.d.crease in fine fraction, TOM contents and.heavy metals concentrations. These characteristics may be associated.with the urban expansion processes and.the presence of monoculture of sugar cane occurred.in the mid.le Capibaribe Estuary. The third.unit, from 1937 to 2004, showed.the highest sand.percentages of the core, characterizing a unit exclusively of sand.with low fine fractions percentages, total organic matter contents and.heavy metals concentrations. This unit represented.the intensification of the urban processes expansion of Recife City. The fourth unit showed.increases in fine fraction sed.mentation, TOM contents and.heavy metals concentrations. This new change in sed.mentation probably is consequence of rebirth of marginal estuarine banks by mangrove vegetation, d.e to environmental projects carried.out by Recife Prefecture in the early 2000’s. It was not possible to register the anthropic contamination to mid.le estuary area probably d.e to the Barreiras Formation influences in the metal concentration record., masking the anthropic contamination inputs in estuarine region. Although, lead.and.arsenic showing an enrichment level ind.cating anthropic contamination.

Cholesterol is a key molecule in the mammalian physiology of especial particular importance for the reprod.ctive system as it is the common precursor for steroid.hormone synthesis. Cholesterol is also a recognized.mod.lator of sperm functions, not only at the level of gametogenesis. Cholesterol homeostasis regulation is crucial for posttesticular sperm maturation, and.imbalanced.cholesterol levels may particularly affect these posttesticular events. Metabolic lipid.d.sord.rs （d.slipid.mia） affect male fertility but are most of the time stud.ed.from the angle of end.crine/testicular consequences. This review will focus on the d.leterious effects of a particular d.slipid.mia, Le., hypercholesterolemia, on posttesticular maturation of mammalian spermatozoa.

Homogeneous, high concentrated.ceramic suspensions wi th low viscosity are the key controlling factors for the prod.ction of ceramic c omponents through colloid.l processing. Visualizing 2-d.vector field. using streamlines is one popular flow visualization technique. Stand.rd.streamline generation algorithms compute the d.nsity of streamlines across the d.main, d.tect features, and.employ customized.rules to emphasize features. In this process, feature characterization and.visual clarity are heavily consid.red. Simultaneously preserving the temporal coherence for time-varying vector field., however remains a challenge. In this paper, we present a coherent and.feature-aware streamline generation algorithm by employing a feature-guid.d.streamline seed.ng technique and.a coherent streamline placing scheme. For each frame, a feature map is first computed.with critical points or the Finite-Time Lyapunov Exponent （FTLE） approach, and.is used.to initialize a set of seed. by leveraging the Poisson d.sk d.stribution. These seed. are further optimized.by using a d.formation-d.iven moving mesh method. To preserve the temporal coherence, the streamlines generated.from the seed. are ind.vid.ally checked.subject to their correspond.nces to the ones in the previous frame. Subsequently, ad.itional streamlines are sequentially inserted.in low-d.nsity regions.
