This study presents a probabilistic seismic risk model for the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region in China. The model comprises a township-level residential building exposure model, a vulnerability model derived from the Chinese building taxonomy,and a regional probabilistic seismic hazard model. The three components are integrated by a stochastic event-based method of the OpenQuake engine to assess the regional seismic risk in terms of average annual loss and exceedance probability curve at the city, province, and regional levels. The novelty and uniqueness of this study are that a probabilistic seismic risk model for the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region in China is developed by considering the impact of site conditions and epistemic uncertainty from the seismic hazard model.

Effective calcium(Ca)management is crucial for optimizing oil palm cultivation and enhancing crop *** study aimed to gain insights into the dynamics of Ca concentration,accumulation,exportation,immobilization,and recycling in various oil palm organs relative to plant *** experiment was conducted at the Agropalma enterprise site in the northeastern region of Para State,Brazil,evaluating seven plant age treatments:2,3,4,5,6,7,and 8 years *** a completely randomized design with four *** results demonstrated an age-related increase in Ca concentration in petioles,rachis,arrows,male inflorescences,peduncles,and ***,Ca accumulation exhibited an upward trend in all organs with progressing plant ***,the study revealed an enhanced Ca use efficiency across all plant organs in correlation with the age of oil palm *** findings underscore the dynamic nutritional demands of oil palm,influencing Ca immobilization,cycling,and export throughout its developmental stages.

The combination of urbanization and global warming leads to urban overheating and compounds the frequency and intensity of extreme heat events due to climate ***,the risk of urban overheating can be mitigated by urban green-blue-grey infrastructure(GBGI),such as parks,wetlands,and engineered greening,which have the potential to effectively reduce summer air *** many reviews,the evidence bases on quantified GBGI cooling benefits remains partial and the practical recommendations for implementation are *** systematic literature review synthesizes the evidence base for heat mitigation and related co-benefits,identifies knowledge gaps,and proposes recommendations for their implementation to maximize their *** screening 27,486 papers,202 were reviewed,based on 51 GBGI types categorized under 10 main *** GBGI(green walls,parks,street trees)have been well researched for their urban cooling ***,several other GBGI have received negligible(zoological garden,golf course,estuary)or minimal(private garden,allotment)*** most efficient air cooling was observed in botanical gardens(5.0±3.5℃),wetlands(4.9±3.2℃),green walls(4.1±4.2℃),street trees(3.8±3.1℃),and vegetated balconies(3.8±2.7℃).Under changing climate conditions(2070–2100)with consideration of RCP8.5,there is a shift in climate subtypes,either within the same climate zone(e.g.,dfa to dfb and Cfb to Cfa)or across other climate zones(e.g.,dfb[continental warm-summer humid]to BSk[dry,cold semi-arid]and Cwa[temperate]to Am[tropical]).These shifts may result in lower efficiency for the current GBGI in the *** the importance of multiple services,it is crucial to balance their functionality,cooling performance,and other related co-benefits when planning for the future *** global GBGI heat mitigation inventory can assist policymakers and urban planners in prioritizing effective interventions to reduce the risk of urban overheating,fi

Background:Hemodialysis(Hd) per se is a risk factor for *** the growing body of evidence on blood-flow restriction(BFR) exercise in Hd patients,identification of possible risk factors related to the prothrombotic agent d-dimer is required for the safety and feasibility of this training *** aim of the present study was to identify risk factors associated with higher d-dimer levels and to determine the acute effect of resistance exercise(RE) with BFR on this ***:Two hundred and six Hd patients volunteered for this study(all with a glomerular filtration rate of d of 50% arterial occlusion pressure during 50 min sessions of Hd(intradialytic exercise).RE repetitions included concentric and eccentric lifting phases(each lasting 2 s) and were supervised by a strength and conditioning ***:Several variables were associated with elevated levels of d-dimer,including higher blood glucose,citrate use,recent cardiovascular events,recent intercurrents,higher inflammatory status,catheter as vascular access,older patients(>70 years old),and Hd ***,RE+BFR significantly increases d-dimer after 4 *** with borderline baseline d-dimer levels(400-490 ng/mL) displayed increased risk of elevating d-dimer over the normal range(≥500 ng/mL).Conclusion:These results identified factors associated with a heightened prothrombotic state and may assist in the screening process for Hd patients who wish to undergo RE+BFR.d-dimer and/or other fibrinolysis factors should be assessed at baseline and throughout the protocol as a precautionary measure to maximize safety during RE+BFR.

The effect of chromium addition on the structure and electrical properties of CaCu3Ti4O12 is *** based on the formula CaCu3Ti4-xCrxO12-σ(x = 0, 0.025, 0.050 and 0.075 mol%) are prepared by solid-state reaction. Pellets sintered at 1070℃ for 12 h are characterised by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive spectroscopy and impedance spectroscopy. Current densityelectric field, dielectric loss and permittivity measurements are also carried out. Rietveld refinement showed the substitution of Cr(Ⅲ) on the Ti(Ⅳ) site, with the maximum substitution for x = 0.025 mol%.The generation of electrical defects in the grain boundary region by chromium doping is responsible for increasing the electric breakdown field strength and nonlinearity coefficient at room temperature from 1723 V/cm and 5.29 for x = 0 mol% to 3431 V/cm and 8.16 for x = 0.025 mol%. This composition shows the greatest improvement in ceramic varistor parameters.

despite the widespread assumption that outdoor environments provide sufficient ventilation and dilution capacity to mitigate the risk of COVId-19 infection,there is little understanding of airborne infection risk in outdoor urban areas with poor *** address this gap,we propose a modified Wells-Riley model based on the purging flow rate(QPFR),by using computational fluid dynamics(CFd)*** model quantifies the outdoor risk in 2d street canyons with different approaching wind speeds,urban heating patterns and aspect ratios(building height to street width).We show that urban morphology plays a critical role in controlling airborne infectious disease transmission in outdoor environments,especially under calm winds;with deep street canyons(aspect ratio>3)having a similar infection risk as typical indoor *** ground and leeward wall heating could reduce the risk,windward heating(e.g.,windward wall~10 K warmer than the ambient air)can increase the infection risk by up to 75%.Our research highlights the importance of considering outdoor infection risk and the critical role of urban morphology in mitigating airborne infection *** identifying and addressing these risks,we can inform measures that may enhance public health and safety,particularly in densely populated urban environments.

The forming limit diagram（FLd） is an important tool to be used when characterizing the formability of metallic sheets used in metal forming processes. Experimental measurement and determination of the FLd is timeconsuming and therefore the analytical prediction based on theory of plasticity and instability criteria allows a direct and efficient methodology to obtain critical values at different loading paths, thus carrying significant practical ***, the accuracy of the plastic instability prediction is strongly dependent on the choice of the material constitutive model [1–3]. Particularly for materials with hexagonal close packed（HCP） crystallographic structure, they have a very limited number of active slip systems at room temperature and demonstrate a strong asymmetry between yielding in tension and compression [4, 5]. Not only the magnitude of the yield locus changes, but also the shape of the yield surface is evolving during the plastic deformation [4]. Conventional phenomenological constitutive models of plasticity fail to capture this unconventional mechanical behavior [4, 6]. Cazacu and Plunkett [6] have proposed generic yield criteria, by using the transformed principal stress, to account for the initial plastic anisotropy and strength differential（Sd） effect simultaneously. In this contribution, a generic FLd MATLAB script was developed based on Marciniak–Kuczynski analytical theory and applied to predict the localized necking. The influence of asymmetrical effect on the FLd was evaluated. Several yield functions such as von Mises, Hill, Barlat89, and Cazacu06 were incorporated into analysis. The paper also presents and discusses the influence of different hardening laws on the formability of materials with HCP crystal structures. The findings indicate that the plastic instability theory coupled with Cazacu model can adequately predict the onset of localized necking for HCP materials under different strain paths.

Zika virus (ZIKV), a mosquito-borne flavivirus, has been associated with benign infections for decades. However, it has become a public health concern due to its association with severe fetal and neurological complications. Although many efforts have been made to control ZIKV infection, approved vaccines or antiviral drugs are still lacking. Consequently, the development of new effective anti-ZIKV agents is urgently needed. In this context, we investigated the antiviral potential of pyrazolone derivatives against ZIKV replication using in silico and in vitro methods. The four pyrazolone derivatives evaluated (1a, 1b, 1c, and 1d) inhibited over 50% of ZIKV replication with low cytotoxicity. Among them, compound 1b exhibited the most potent activity (EC50 = 4.3 μM) and the highest selectivity (SI = 342). Mechanism of action studies indicated that these compounds act at early stages of virus replication, and compound 1b can also directly inactivate ZIKV particles. Molecular docking studies suggested that these compounds can bind to and block the activity of ZIKV NS5 methyltransferase. Finally, pharmacokinetic and toxicological predictions have reinforced the safety and drug-like profiles of these derivatives. In conclusion, the pyrazolone scaffold proved to be valuable for anti-ZIKV drug development, and the derivatives studied deserve further investigation.
