Simultaneous dilation of both the common bile duct and the pancreatic duct(double-duct sign)is usually because of ampullary or pancreatic *** we report an unusual cause of double-duct dilation;we describe the case of a 49-year-old female who developed afferent loop syndrome after pylorus-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy:crosssectional imaging of the abdomen revealed a double-duct sign.

In this study,S-scheme-based hydrothermal synthesis of Ag-CuBi_(2)O_(4)/CNTs/Bi_(2)S_(3)layered composites has been successfully *** photo-degradation of toxic dyes,*** orange(MO),and methylene blue(MB),has been used to examine nanocomposites with varying weight percent of Bi_(2)S_(3)for photocat-alytic activity in the visible *** candidates,Ag-CuBi_(2)O_(4)/CNTs/Bi_(2)S_(3)with a 10%loading of Bi_(2)S_(3)outperformed both pure and hybrid composites in photocatalytic *** MO degradation,the hybrid composite with 10%Bi_(2)S_(3)loading degrades 7.04 times higher than pristine CuBi_(2)O_(4)and Bi_(2)S_(3)samples,and for MB degradation,it degrades 4.96 times higher than pristine *** surface area,less re-combination rate of photogenerated charge carriers,photogenerated carriers faster separation,and high redox ability of Ag-CuBi_(2)O_(4)/CNTs/Bi_(2)S_(3)(10%)are all attributed to the improving photocatalytic *** after ten cycles,the hybrid composite is chemically stable and *** nanotubes(CNTs)are a transfer bridge in layered structure for electrons because of their coordinated Fermi level between Ag-CuBi_(2)O_(4)and Bi_(2)S_(3).In addition,the scavenger and electron spin resonance(ESR)experiments verified that·O_(2)^(−),·OH,and h+were the important reactive species that successfully facilitated the pho-tocatalytic degradation process to degrade *** study presents a straightforward and economical approach for obtaining a stable semiconductor-based photocatalytic system and a potential technique for future applications.

When compared to adults, pediatric frac- tures unite readily and nonunion is quite rare. Nonunion is often associated with open fractures, operative interventions, infection, pediatric osteogenesis imperfecta and neurofibromatosis. There are only a few studies and reports mentioning nonunion following conservative ma- nagement of closed pediatric fractures. We report here a case of an eighteen-month-old child who developed non-union following treatment of fracture of both forearm bones with cast and was successfully treated with plating. To the best of our knowledge, this is the youngest reported case of nonunion following conservative management of closed diaphyseal pediatric fracture.

Background:Endothelial keratoplasty(EK)is used increasingly for the management of cases with endothelial ***-term outcomes of the surgery are not widely reported in the *** report our experience of EK in Chinese eyes at a University teaching ***:Retrospective analysis was performed for all cases of EK performed between 2005 and *** analyzed included indication for surgery,associated surgical procedures,complications,best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and overall graft ***:Overall,22 eyes of 21 patients underwent EK(13 males,8 females,mean age 71.8±11.3 years).Pseudophakic bullous keratopathy was the leading indication for surgery(n=12)followed by Fuchs’endothelial dystrophy(n=4),or both(n=3).Other indications for surgery included failed penetrating keratoplasty(n=2)and endothelial decompensation due to multiple surgeries(n=1).Triple procedure was performed in 5(22.7%)*** were noted in the form of postoperative interface hemorrhage(n=2,9%)and graft dislocation(n=1,4.5%).The mean postoperative endothelial cell density was 1069±585.8 cells/*** mean postoperative pachymetry was 675.8±108.5μ*** mean preoperative and postoperative intraocular pressure was 11.3±3.2 and 13.9±4.5 mmHg *** the last follow-up(mean,47.4±13.7 months),BCVA was≥20/70 in 9(40.9%)*** of poor BCVA included primary graft failure(n=4),graft decompensation(n=4),advanced glaucoma(n=2)and irreversible graft rejection(n=2).Graft remained clear in 12(54.5%)cases at the last *** graft survival was 19.7±17.7 months(median 17.5 months).Conclusions:Nearly half of the EK grafts in our study survived over a period of five *** failure,glaucoma and graft rejection were the main causes of poor graft survival.

We present a study of the star 2MASS J22472238＋5801214 with the aim of identifying its true nature which has hitherto been uncertain. This object, which is a member of the young cluster NGC 7380, has been variously proposed to be a Be star, a D-type symbiotic and a Herbig Ae/Be star in separate studies. Here we present optical spectroscopy, near-IR photometry and narrow band Hα imaging of the nebulosity in its environment. Analysis of all these results, including the spectral energy distribution constructed from available data, strongly indicate the source to be a Herbig Ae/Be star. The star is found to be accompanied by a nebulosity with an interesting structure. A bow-shock shaped structure, similar to a cometary nebula, is seen very close to the star with its apex oriented towards the photoionizing source of this region （i.e. the star DH Cep）. An interesting spectroscopic finding, from the forbidden [StI] 6716, 6731A and [OI] 6300A lines, is the detection of a blue-shifted high velocity outflow （200 -t-50 km s-1） from the star.

Increasingp o p u latio n an d c o n stru ctio n o f roads have led to destab ilisatio n o f slopes, th u s leading to m ass w astingand m ovem ent, fu rth e r aggravation d u e to recen t events o f cloud bu rsts and u n p re c e d e n te d flash floods.V ulnerability analysis o f slopes is an im p o rta n t co m p o n e n t for th e ＂Landslide H azard A ssessm ent＂ and＂Slope Mass C h aracterisation＂ guide p lan n ers to p red ict an d choose suitable w ays for c o n stru ctio n ofroads and o th e r en g in eerin g stru ctu res. The pro b lem o f landslides along th e n ational highw ay-58 （NH-58） from Rishikesh to D evprayag is a co m m o n scene. The slopes along th e NH-58 b e tw e e n Jonk andRishikesh w ere investigated, w h ich experienced v ery heavy traffic especially from M arch to A ugust dueto pilgrim age to K edarnath shrine. On th e basis o f slope m ass rating （SMR） investigation, th e area falls instable class, an d landslide susceptibility score （LSS） values also indicate th a t th e slopes u n d e r investigationfall in low to m o d erate v ulnerability to landslide. More atte n tio n s should be paid to th e slopes toachieve g reater safe an d econom ic b enefits along th e highw ay.

In monocytic cells, Toll-like receptor 4 （TLR4）- and TLR2-induced reactive oxygen species （ROS） cause oxidative stress and inflammatory response; however, the mechanism is not well understood. The present study investigated the role of interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase （IRAK）, extracellular signal-regulated kinase （ERK）, p67phox and Nox-2 in TLR4- and TLR2-induced ROS generation during interleukin-1 beta （IL-1β） transcription, processing, and secretion. An IRAK1/4 inhibitor, U0126, PD98059, an NADPH oxidase inhibitor （diphenyleneiodonium （DPI））, and a free radical scavenger （N-acetyl cysteine （NAC））-attenuated TLR4 （lipopolysaccharide （LPS））- and TLR2 （Pam3csk4）-induced ROS generation and IL-1β production in THP-1 and primary human monocytes. An IRAK1/4 inhibitor and siRNA-attenuated LPS- and Pam3csk4-induced ERK-IRAK1 association and ERK phosphorylation and activity. LPS and Pam3csk4 also induced IRAK1/4-, ERK- and ROS-dependent activation of activator protein-1 （AP-1）, IL-1β transcription, and IL-1β processing because significant inhibition in AP-1 activity, IL-lp transcription, Pro- and mature IL-p expression, and caspase-1 activity was observed with PD98059, U0126, DPI, NAC, an IRAK1/4 inhibitor, tanshinone Ila, and IRAK1 siRNA treatment. IRAK-dependent ERK-p67phox interaction, p67phox translocation, and p67phox-Nox-2 interaction were observed. Nox-2 siRNA significantly reduced secreted IL-lp, IL-1β transcript, pro- and mature IL-1β expression, and caspase-1 activity indicating a role for Nox-2 in LPS- and Pam3csk4-induced IL-1β production, transcription, and processing. In the present study, we demonstrate that the TLR4- and TLR2-induced IRAK-ERK pathway cross-talks with p67phox-Nox-2 for ROS generation, thus regulating IL-1β transcription and orocessin; in monocvtic cells.
