Influence of low dietary histamine on the seizure development of chemical kindling induced by pentylenetetrazol in rats

Aim:To determine the role of dietary low histamine on the seizure development ofpentylenetetrazol (PTZ)-induced kindling in ***:After 14 d of feedingon a low histamine diet (LH,containing 0.145 μmol/g of histamine),the rats werechemically kindled by repeated intraperitoneal injection of a subconvulsant doseof PTZ (35 mg/kg) once every 48 h,and seizure activity of kindling was recordedfor 30 *** in brain samples was analyzed using a high performanceliquid chromatography system with a fluorescence ***:The LH diet induced an increase in seizure response (seizure susceptibility) to thefirst trial of PTZ,and resulted in facilitation of subsequent PTZ kindling process(seizure development).The histamine levels in the cortex,hippocampus,andhypothalamus of LH-treated rats decreased significantly and these changes cor-related well with seizure behavior (r=0.875,0.651,and 0.796,respectively).In addition,chronic kindled seizures resulted in a significant increase of the histamine contentin the cortex and hypothalamus in the LH-fed ***:These find-ings indicate that the histamine in daily food could influence the brain histaminer-gic function,and play an important role in regulating seizure susceptibility.

1 Carcinine(beta-alanyl histamine)is an imidazole *** present study was designedto characterize the pharmacological effects of carcinine on histaminergic activity in the brain andon certain neurobehavior.2 Carcinine was highly selective for the histamine 1-I3 receptor over H1 or H2 receptor [Ki (laM)= 0.2939 0.2188 vs. 3621.2 583.9 or 365.3 232.8 M, respectively].3 Carcinine, at a dose of 20 mg kg-slightly increased histidine decarboxylase (HDC) activity inthe cortex (from 0.186 0.069 pmol mg protein"l min1 to 0.227 0.009 pmol mg protein"1 rein’l).In addition, carcinine (10, 20 and 50 mg kg"1) significantly decreased histamine levels in micebrain.4 Like thioperamide, a histamine Ha receptor antagonist, carcinine (20, 50 gM) significantlyincreased 5-HT release from mice cortex slices, but had no apparent effect on dopamine release.5 Carcinine (20 mg kg1) significantly inhibited pentylenetetrazole- induced kindling. Thisinhibition was completedly reversed by (R)-methylhistamine, a representative Ha receptoragonist, and ot-fluromethylhistidine, a selective histidine decarboxylase inhibitor.6 The results of this study provide first and direct evidence that carcinine, as a novel histamineHa receptor antagonist, plays an important role in histaminergic neurons activation and might beuseful in the treatment of certain diseases, such as epilepsy.

Air pollution adversely affects skin,leading to skin inflammation and premature skin *** derived antioxidant compounds have been considered to be promising in discovery of effective agents for the protection of skin from the damage by air *** previous studies demonstrated that Averrhoa carambola fruit(known as star fruit)is rich in flavonoid C-glycosides with unique structures and potent antioxidant ***,the star fruit extract(SFE)and main flavonoid C-glycoside components,carambolasides I,J,and P(1-3),carambolaflavone B(4),and isovitexin 2″-O-α-l-rhamnoside(5),were investigated for the activity against air pollutant stress in human *** a result,SFE and compounds 1-5 exhibited significant inhibitory activity against protein carbonylation in oxidative-stressed stratum corneum with the best activity being shown by compound *** and compounds 2-5 were also active against engine exhaust-induced protein carbonylation in stratum *** further evaluated,SFE and com-pound 3 significantly inhibited gene expression of the key inflammation mediators IL-1αand COX-2 in PM-stressed *** results indicated that SFE and the flavonoid C-glycosides are potentially effective against air pollutant-induced skin inflammation and premature aging.

A multi Fiber Spectroscope at kiso Observatory is under consideration as our next instrument. In this paper we report an overview of our instrument and a scientific target of survey project. We are going to attach multi fiber system at the prime focus of kiso 150m Schmidt telescope. This telescope has some advantage for our project. First, the effciency in survey for the objects, which number density is 0 1 to 10/degree 2, is higher than other multi object system due to the wide field of view (6 °×6 °). Second, an optics of telescope is well matched to fiber numerical aperture (NA) at an input end of fiber. Moreover, taking a focal ratio degradation (FRD) and scrambling property into account, since the light from object does not move at the entrance slit of spectroscope, we could get spectroscopic data stably with this system. We select a fiber with 100μm core which corresponding to 6 arcsec on focal plane, that is matched with a typical seeing (3 arcsec) at kiso Observatory and set 150 fibers to one field. For efficient observations, it is necessary to arrange fibers accurately within an accuracy of ±25μm on the curved focal plane during a typical exposure time (1 hour). Therefore we examine a particular positioner specialized for curved surface. We also develop a spectroscope that is suited for a fast focal ratio and proceed with making its design. One of our main key projects with this system is a non biased survey for solar neighbour stars. We are now establishing a new metallicity determination method that easily and reliably measures a metallicity from low dispersion spectra. (see Itoh it et al. 1998) As we consider our main target as Galactic objects and low resolution (R is around 1000), we could observe a star with 17 mag at V band (1 hour exposure).

AIM： To examine the effects of adiponectin on the functions of Kupffer cells, key modulators of lipopolysaccharide （LPS） -induced liver ***： D-galactosamine （GAIN） and LPS were injected intraperitoneally into adiponectin-/- mice and wild type mice. Kupffer cells, isolated from Sprague-Dawley rats, were preincubated with or without adiponectin, and then treated with ***： In knockout mice, GalN/LPS injection significantly lowered the survival rate, significantly raised the plasma levels of alanine transaminase and tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-α） and significantly reduced IL-10 levels compared with wild type mice. TNF-α gene expression in the liver was which higher and those of IL-10 were lower in knockout mice than in wild type mice. In cultured adiponectin-pre-treated Kupffer cells, LPS significantly lowered TNF-α levels and raised IL-10 levels in the culture media and their respective gene expression levels, compared with Kupffer cells without ***： Adiponectin supresses TNF-α production and induces IL-10 production by Kupffer cells in response to LPS stimulation, and a lack of adiponectin enhances LPS-induced liver injury.

A new method of estimating the metallicity from low resolution spectrum is introduced. This method is performed with the help of a principal component analysis. The estimated metallicities through our method are consistent with those obtained from high resolution spectra. This result indicates that our method is useful at least in the range of late type giants.

本文采用Fenton试剂处理废水中难以降解的苯胺类化合物,实验结果表明:（1）添加KMnO4溶液的量对COD和TOC去除率有一定的影响;（2）p-甲氧基苯胺与Fenton试剂反应速度很快;（3）九种苯胺类化合物经反应后,COD去除率为70—80％,TOC去除率为60—70％;（4）苯胺类化合物的结构对COD和TOC的去除有一定影响;（5）p-甲氧基苯胺的苯胺经反应后BOD5值可以增大,有利于生物降解。
