Radiation induced mutagenesis followed by in vitro selection was employed for salt tolerance in popular Indian sugarcane （Saccharum officinarum L.） cv. CoC-671. Embryogenic calli were gamma irradiated and exposed to different levels of NaCl （42.8, 85.6, 128.3, 171.1,213.9, 256.7, 299.5, or 342.2 mM）. The relative growth rate （RGR） decreased progressively with increasing salt stress and was the least with a salt stress of 256.7 mM （0.25±0.009）, almost 10 fold lesser than the control. The RGR was significantly lower in 85.6 mM and higher salt stressed calli than the control. The survival percent also decreased, with an increase in NaCl concentration. In case of 10 and 20 Gy irradiated calli, regeneration was observed up to 85.6 mM NaCl selection, medium, whereas, higher treatments （128.3 mM and beyond） exhibited browning initially. However, in the subsequent subcultures, regeneration was obtained in the case of 10 and 20 Gy irradiated calli on 128.3 and 171.1 mM NaCl selections. Higher dose of gamma irradiation （40 Gy） also showed regeneration, but only with 85.6 mM NaCI selection. The unirradiated calli regenerated the highest number of plantlets followed by 10 and 20 Gy irradiated calli on salt selection. A total of 147 plantlets were selected from different salt levels. The salt selected plants are being tested for their field performance.

Background Type 2 diabetes(T2D)is a chronic metabolic disorder with high comorbidity with mental *** genetic links between attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder(ADHD)and T2D have yet to be *** We aim to assess shared genetics and potential associations between ADHD and *** We performed genetic correlation,two-sample Mendelian randomisation and polygenic overlap analyses between ADHD and *** genome-wide association study(GWAS)summary results of T2D(80154 cases and 853816 controls),ADHD2019(20183 cases and 35191 controls from the 2019 GWAS ADHD dataset)and ADHD2022(38691 cases and 275986 controls from the 2022 GWAS ADHD dataset)were used for the *** T2D dataset was obtained from the DIAGRAM *** ADHD datasets were obtained from the Psychiatric Genomics *** compared genome-wide association signals to reveal shared genetic variation between T2D and ADHD using the larger ADHD2022 ***,molecular pathways were constructed based on large-scale literature data to understand the connection between ADHD and *** T2D has positive genetic correlations with ADHD2019(rg=0.33)and ADHD2022(rg=0.31).Genetic liability to ADHD2019 was associated with an increased risk for T2D(odds ratio(OR):1.30,p<0.001),while genetic liability to ADHD2022 had a suggestive causal effect on T2D(OR:1.30,p=0.086).Genetic liability to T2D was associated with a higher risk for ADHD2019(OR:1.05,p=0.001)and ADHD2022(OR:1.03,p<0.001).The polygenic overlap analysis showed that most causal variants of T2D are shared with ADHD2022.T2D and ADHD2022 have three overlapping *** pathway analysis suggests that ADHD and T2D could promote the risk of each other through inflammatory *** Our study demonstrates substantial shared genetics and bidirectional causal associations between ADHD and T2D.

AIM To test the reliability of the Sawai’s classification for dental cervical *** photographs of 70 teeth from 23 patients with tooth abrasions were taken by the first examiner *** teeth were marked and the photos were maintained in a soft copy *** other examiners FA and SC were trained in the use of the classification and any clarifications needed were provided at the beginning of the *** examiner was then given the soft copy of the complied photographs and was asked to classify the dental cervical abrasion according to their understanding of the Sawai’s *** were given sheets to write their responses for every marked *** the examiners were blinded to each other’s observations which were then tested for inter-rater agreement among the three *** 70 teeth with tooth abrasions from 23 patients were examined by 3 investigators(MS,FA and SC)to test the reliability of the Sawai’s classification system for tooth *** examiner marked their responses in separate sheets which were blinded to each *** kappa statistics were performed for inter-rater agreement among the three *** level of agreement was evaluated according to the six-level nomenclature given by Landis and *** and 95%CI between two examiners,i.e.,the inter-rater agreement among 1^(st) examiner(MS) and 2^(nd) examiner(FA) was *** inter-rater agreement among 1^(st) examiner(MS) and 3^(rd) examiner(SC) was *** the inter-rater agreement among 2^(nd) examiner(FA) and 3^(rd) examiner(SC) was *** the three comparisons show an almost perfect agreement between *** is an almost perfect agreement between multiple observers for classifying dental cervical abrasions using Sawai’s ***,this classification is reliable.

Wide range of rotating machinery contains an inherent amount of unbalance which leads to increase in the vibration level and related *** this work,the effect of different operating conditions *** unbalanced weight,radius,speed and position of the rotor disc on the unbalance in rotating machine are studied experimentally and analyzed by using Response Surface Methodology(RSM).RSM is a technique which consists of mathematical and statistical methods to develop the relationship between the inputs and outputs of a system by distinct functions.L27 Orthogonal Array(OA)was developed by using Design of Experiments(DOE)according to which experimentation has been carried *** accelerometer sensors were mounted to record the vibration responses(accelerations)in radially vertical,horizontal and axial *** responses recorded as root mean square values are then analysed using *** relationship between response and operating factors has been established by developing a second order,non-linear mathematical *** of variance(ANOVA)has been performed for verification of the developed mathematical *** obtained from the analysis show that the unbalance weight and speed are most significant operating conditions that contribute the most to the effect the unbalance has on the rotating spindle.
