Consumption of processed foods—which are generally composed of nutritionally starved refined ingredients—has increased exponentially worldwide.A rise in public health awareness that low fiber intake is strongly linked to new-age disorders has spurred food manufacturers to fortify processed foods with refined dietary fibers(RDFs).Consumption of whole foods rich in natural fibers undoubtedly confers an array of health ***,it is not clear whether RDFs extracted from the whole plant,kernel,and fruit peels exert similar physiological effects to their naturally occurring *** studies caution that RDFs are not universally beneficial and that inappropriate consumption of RDFs may risk both gastrointestinal and liver ***,we briefly summarize the beneficial and detrimental effects of RDFs on digestive health and discuss the contribution of metabolites derived from microbial fermentation of RDFs in driving such positive or negative health outcomes.

This study deals with the development of drum brake liner for a multi-utility vehicle possessing a hydraulic brake system by varying 7 weight%of steel fiber and stainless steel fiber each,in friction composite *** developed friction composites were tested for physical,chemical,corrosion,mechanical,thermal properties,and tribological characteristics,under near-actual conditions using an inertia dynamometer as per industrial *** element analysis software(ANSYS)analysis was performed to show the thermal stress distribution of the developed friction composites at the maximum temperature rise due to heat generated during brake stops,and an extensive evaluation method was used to rank the *** study concludes that the brake factor of the stainless steel fiber-based friction composite produces stable performance in all conditions with a lower liner temperature rise of 340°C and lower thermal stress at 4.255294 ***,the steel fiber-based composites produced high performance at the beginning but deteriorated after a certain period due to higher levels of corrosion and a high temperature rise of 361°C resulting in a negative fade(-0.84%)and more thermal stress(5.619102 MPa).The primary plateau,secondary plateau,back transfer of drum wear debris,and the distribution of constituents on the worn surface of the developed composites in a resin matrix were identified and studied using a scanning electron microscope(SEM)equipped with energy-dispersive spectroscopy.

This work investigates the bifurcation analysis in a discrete-time Leslie-Gower predatorprey model with constant yield predator *** stability analysis for the fixed points of the discretized model is shown *** this study,the model undergoes codimension-1 bifurcation such as fold bifurcation(limit point),flip bifurcation(perioddoubling)and Neimark-Sacker bifurcation at a positive fixed ***,the model exhibits codimension-2 bifurcations,including Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation and generalized fip bifurcation at the fixed *** each bifurcation,by using the critical normal form coefficient method,various critical states are *** validate our analytical findings,the bifurcation curves of fixed points are drawn by using *** system exhibits interesting rich dynamics including limit cycles and ***,it has been shown that the predator harvesting may control the chaos in the system.

Two step equal channel angular pressing carried out on as cast ZE41 Mg alloy resulted in a remarkable grain *** compared to grain size of 46p.m in as cast sample,refinement upto 2.5^01 was achieved after 8th pass equal channel angular pressing(ECAP).The combined effect of crystallographic orientation and grain refinement was investigated by analysing the mechanical properties and corrosion behaviour of ZE41 Mg alloy using electron back scattered diffraction(EBSD).The first stage comprises of 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th passes at a processing temperature of 300℃while the 5th,6th,7th and 8th passes were ECAPed at 275℃in second *** mechanical properties of ZE41 Mg 158 yield tensile strength(YTS),230 ultimate tensile strength(UTS)and 7%elongation in as cast condition is enhanced to 236 YTS,295 UTS and 19.76%,respectively,after first stage *** yield tensile strength deteriorated due to the effect of texture predominating grain refinement during the second stage *** corrosion resistance of ZE41 Mg was significantly enhanced by ECAP and is inferred from electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and potentiodynamic polarisation *** role of microstructure was minimal on corrosion behaviour of ZE41 Mg due to extra resistance when tested in 0M ***,the influence of grain refinement greatly influenced the improvement in corrosion resistance of ZE4I Mg rather than crystallographic orientation observed from *** contrast,the crystallographic orientation predominated the effect of grain refinement during ZE41 Mg corrosion in chloride containing(0.1 M and 1 M NaCl)*** the observation of results it is found that equal channel angular pressing has the dual advantage of improving mechanical properties and corrosion resista nee of ZE41 Mg alloy.

First, the characteristics of low-velocity conveying of particles having different hardness are experimentally investigated in a horizontal pipeline in terms of flow pattern and pressure drop to show that the slug flow can be classified into two types depending on the settling of particles along the pipeline, and the period is small for slug flow without the settled layer, which is called solitary slug flow. The pressure drop for soft particles is shown to be larger than that for hard particles. Then, experimental results are presented on horizontal fluidized-bed conveying of fine powders to show that air release from the top surface of the conveying channel is an imnortant factor for high mass flow rate of particles.

Lindelofia longiflora(Royle ex Benth.) ***(Cl.) Brand(Family:Boraginaceae) is investigated cytologically(n = 12) for the first time from the cold deserts of Pangi Valley,Chamba District(Himachal Pradesh) in *** report the formation of syncytes and 2n pollen grains in the *** meiosis,the majority of the pollen mother cells(PMCs) exhibited 12 bivalents,equal segregation of chromosomes during anaphases,regular tetrads,and normal-sized pollen grain ***,two proximate PMCs fused during the early stages of prophase-I and resulted in the formation of *** frequency of syncytes in the accession is rather low,at 25 out of 1866(1.33%).Such syncyte PMCs are detectable during meiosis due to their larger size compared to typical *** syncytes or polyploid cells showed normal 24 bivalents and depicted perfectly regular meiotic *** the products of such PMCs yield 2n or larger sized pollen grains that are almost double the size of typical normal or n pollen *** origin of syncytes as a consequence of the fusion of meiocytes during the early stages of meiosis-I could be attributed to low temperature stress conditions prevailing in the Pangi Valley,where temperature during May and June dip to below freezing,the time the plants enters the reproductive/flowering bud *** is possible that such apparently fertile 2n pollen grains originating from syncytes might play a role in the origin of intraspecific polyploids in the species.

Objective:To systematically evaluate antiulcer potential of Acacia nilotica in different ulcer models in ***:Different extracts[ethanolie,50%hydroethanolic(50:50),70% hydroethanolic(70:30) and aqueous]of young seedless pods were examined in pylorus ligation induced gastric ulcers in *** parameters like,volume of gastric acid secretion,pH,free acidity,total acidity,ulcer index,mucin content and antioxidant studies were determined and were compared between extract treated,standard and vehicle control following ulcer induction. The most active extract was also evaluated in swimming stress induced and NSAID induced gastric ***:Among different extracts of young seedless pods only hydroethanolic extracts showed significant antiulcer activity in pyloric ligation induced *** more the 70%hydroethanolic extract showed better protection as compared to 50%hydroethanolic *** 70%hydroethanolic extract also showed significant mucoprotection in swimming stress induced and nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs induced gastric ***: The results of present study concluded that the hydroethanolic extract of young seedless pods of Acacia nilotica has antiulcer activity in pylorus ligation,swimming stress and NSAID induced rat ulcer *** extract containing more amount of phenolic components show high antiulcer activity,indicating the phenolic component of the extract to be responsible for the activity of the extracts.

Chromobacterium violaceum is a gram-negative bacterium, which has been used widely in microbiology labs involved in quorum sensing(QS) research. Among the QS-regulated traits of this bacterium, violacein production has received the maximum attention. Violacein production in this organism, however is not under sole control of QS machinery, and other QSregulated traits of this bacterium also need to be investigated in better detail. Though not often involved in human infections, this bacterium is being viewed as an emerging pathogen. This review attempts to highlight the recent research advances on Chromobacterium violaceum, with respect to violacein biosynthesis, development of various applications of this bacterium and its bioactive metabolite violacein, and its pathogenicity.
