Experimental and numerical studies were carried out to evaluate the effect of vortex generator on a small cylindrical protrusion at Mach number 2.0. The experiments were performed using the supersonic blow down wind tunnel on different heights of cylindrical protrusion with vortex generator placed ahead of them. The upstream and downstream flow around the cylindrical protrusion is influenced by vortex generator as is observed using both visualization and pressure measurement techniques. Numerical studies using three dimensional steady implicit formulations with standard k-ω turbulence model was performed. Results obtained through the present computation are compared with the experimental results at Mach 2.0. Good agreements between computation and experimental results have been achieved. The results indicate that the aerodynamic drag acting on cylindrical protrusion can be reduced by adopting vortex generator.

With the innovation of microelectronics technology, the heat dissipation problem inside the device will face a severe test. In this work, cellulose aerogel(CA) with highly enhanced thermal conductivity(TC) in vertical planes was successfully obtained by constructing a vertically aligned silicon carbide nanowires(SiC NWs)/boron nitride(BN) network via the ice template-assisted strategy. The unique network structure of SiC NWs connected to BN ensures that the TC of the composite in the vertical direction reaches 2.21 W m^(-1) k^(-1) at a low hybrid filler loading of 16.69 wt%, which was increased by 890% compared to pure epoxy(EP). In addition, relying on unique porous network structure of CA, EP-based composite also showed higher TC than other comparative samples in the horizontal direction. Meanwhile, the composite exhibits good electrically insulating with a volume electrical resistivity about 2.35 × 10^(11) Ω cm and displays excellent electromagnetic wave absorption performance with a minimum reflection loss of-21.5 dB and a wide effective absorption bandwidth(k provides a new strategy for manufacturing polymer-based composites with excellent multifunctional performances in microelectronic packaging applications.

A wide variety of processes are being pursued by researchers for cost effective extraction of titanium metal. Electrochemical processes are promising due to simplicity and being less capital intensive. Some of the promising electrochemical processes of titanium extraction were reviewed and the results of laboratory scale experiments on electrochemical reduction of TiO2 granules were brought out. Some of the kinetic parameters of the reduction process were discussed while presenting the quality improvements achieved in the experimentation.

Software-defined networking(SDN) has received tremendous attention from both industry and *** centralized control plane in SDN has a global view of the network and can be used to provide more effective solutions for complex problems,such as traffic *** study is motivated by recent advancement in SDN and increasing popularity of multicasting *** propose a technique to increase the resiliency of multicasting in SDN based on the subtree protection *** is a group communication technology,which uses the network infrastructure efficiently by sending the data only once from one or multiple sources to a group of receivers that share a common *** applications,e.g.,live video streaming and video conferencing,become popular,but they are delay-sensitive *** in an ongoing multicast session can cause packet losses and delay,which can significantly affect quality of service(Qo S).In this study,we adapt a subtree-based technique to protect a multicast tree constructed for Open Flow switches in *** proposed algorithm can detect link or node failures from a multicast tree and then determines which part of the multicast tree requires changes in the flow table to recover from the *** a centralized controller in SDN,the backup paths can be created much more effectively in comparison to the signaling approach used in traditional multiprotocol label switching(MPLS) networks for backup paths,which makes the subtree-based protection mechanism *** also implement a prototype of the algorithm in the POX controller and measure its performance by emulating failures in different tree topologies in Mininet.

Blind adaptive beamforming is getting appreciated for its various applications in contemporary communication systems where sources are statistically dependent or independent that are allowed to formulate new algorithms. Qualitative performance and time complexity are the main issues. In this paper, we propose a technique for constant modulus signals applying basic non-negative matrix factorization (BNMF) in blind adaptive beamforming environment. We compared the existing Unscented kalman Filter based Constant Modulus Algorithm (UkF-CMA) with proposed NMF-UkF-CMA algorithm. We see there is a better improvement of sensor array gain, signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) and mean squared deviation (MSD) as the noise variance and the array size increase with reduced computational complexity with the UkF-CMA.

Development of polyvinylpyrrolidone/paclitaxel self-assemblies for breast cancer

The goal of this investigation was to develop and demonstrate a polymer/paclitaxel selfassembly(PTX-SA) formulation. Polymer/PTX-SAs were screened based on smaller size of formulation using dynamic light scattering analysis. Additionally, fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry studies exhibited that polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP)-based PTX-SAs(PVP/PTX-SAs) had superior cellular internalization capability in MCF7 and MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells. The optimized PVP/PTXSAs exhibited less toxicity to human red blood cells indicating a suitable formulation for reducing systemic toxicity. The formation of PVP and PTX self-assemblies was confirmed using fluorescence quenching and transmission electron microscopy which indicated that the PVP/PTX-SAs were spherical in shape with an average size range of 53.81 nm as detected by transmission electron microscopy(TEM).FTIR spectral analysis demonstrates incorporation of polymer and paclitaxel functional groups in PVP/PTX-SAs. Both proliferation(MTS) and clonogenic(colony formation) assays were used to validate superior anticancer activity of PVP/PTX-SAs in breast cancer cells over paclitaxel. Such superior anticancer activity was also demonstrated by downregulation of the expression of pro-survival protein(Bcl-x L), upregulation of apoptosis-associated proteins(Bid, Bax, cleaved caspase 7, and cleaved PARP)and β-tubulin stabilization. These results support the hypothesis that PVP/PTX-SAs improved paclitaxel delivery to cancer cells.

The intention behind the present work was to develop a microsponge based novel dosage form for sustained delivery of ***-emulsion solvent diffusion method was employed using Eudragit RS-100 with various drug-polymer ratios for the preparation of *** optimization purposes,several factors which affect microparticles’physical properties were *** techniques followed for the formed microsponges were DSC,FTIR,SEM,XRD and particle size analysis,along with morphology,drug loading and in vitro drug *** was found that there were no chemical interactions between drugs and polymers used as per DSC and FTIR *** drug-polymer ratio showed remarkable impact on drug content,encapsulation efficiency and particle *** micrographs revealed that microsponges were spherical in shape with porous surface,and had 104±0.22μm mean particle *** microsponges were then loaded in capsules followed by in vitro drug release study;which depicted that microsponges with drug-polymer ratio of 1:2 were more proficient to give extended drug release of 76.38%at the end of 8 h,superior in contrast to conventional marketed formulation Domstal®,which got exhausted incredibly earlier by releasing 82.57%drug at the end of 1⁄2 h ***,the developed microsponge based formulation of domperidone would be an expectant,promising substitute to conventional therapy of gastroparesis,emesis and alike gastric ailments.

PIM kinases have been shown to play a role in prostate cancer development and progression,as well as in some of the hallmarks of cancer,especially proliferation and *** upregulation in prostate cancer has been correlated with decreased patient overall survival and therapy *** efforts to inhibit PIM with monotherapies have been hampered by compensatory upregulation of other pathways and drug toxicity,and as such,it has been suggested that co-targeting PIM with other treatment approaches may permit lower doses and be a more viable option in the ***,we present the rationale and basis for cotargeting PIM with inhibitors of PI3k/mTOR/AkT,JAk/STAT,MYC,stemness,and RNA Polymerase I transcription,along with other therapies,including androgen deprivation,radiotherapy,chemotherapy,and *** combined approaches could potentially be used as neoadjuvant therapies,limiting the development of resistance to treatments or sensitizing cells to other *** determine which drugs should be combined with PIM inhibitors for each patient,it will be key to develop companion diagnostics that predict response to each co-targeted option,hopefully providing a personalized medicine pathway for subsets of prostate cancer patients in the future.
