BACKGROUND Mesenchymal stromal cells(MSCs)are multipotent cell populations obtained from fetal and adult *** share some characteristics with limb bud mesodermal cells such as differentiation potential into osteogenic,chondrogenic,and tenogenic lineages and an embryonic mesodermal *** MSCs differentiate into skeletal-related lineages in vitro,they have not been shown to selforganize into complex skeletal structures or connective tissues,as in the *** this work,we demonstrate that the expression of molecular markers to commit MSCs to skeletal lineages is not sufficient to generate skeletal elements in *** To evaluate the potential of MSCs to differentiate into skeletal lineages and generate complex skeletal structures using the recombinant limb(RL)*** We used the experimental system of RLs from dissociated-reaggregated human placenta(PL)and umbilical cord blood(UCB)*** being harvested and reaggregated in a pellet,cultured cells were introduced into an ectodermal cover obtained from an early chicken limb ***,this filled ectoderm was grafted into the back of a donor chick *** these conditions,the cells received and responded to the ectoderm’s embryonic signals in a spatiotemporal manner to differentiate and pattern into skeletal *** response to differentiation and morphogenetic signals was evaluated by quantitative poly-merase chain reaction,histology,immunofluorescence,scanning electron microscopy,and in situ *** We found that human PL-MSCs and UCB-MSCs constituting the RLs expressed chondrogenic,osteogenic,and tenogenic molecular markers while differentially committing into limb lineages but could not generate complex structures in ***-RL from PL or UCB were committed early to chondrogenic ***,the UCB-RL osteogenic commitment was favored,although preferentially to a tenogenic cell *** findings suggest that the commitment of MSCs to differentiate int

The present paper summarizes a joint effort undertaken by the Instituto Geográfico Militar de Chile (IGM) and the Instituto Antártico Chileno (INACH) in order to obtain digital cartography of the Fildes Peninsula,Rey jorge Island,*** peninsula constitutes the prototype project area for the main IGM_INACH project N° 153 “Cartographic Survey and Geographic Information System of the South Shetlands Islands" The Digital Cartography was implemented at the 1∶5 000 scale,using geodetic GPS control points referenced to ITRF 92 and WGS 84 *** UTM Projection was *** products were produced in compliance with the cartographic standards of the IGM. This cartography was designed in order to satisfy the requirements of a Geographic Information System developed by *** geo_referenced database incorporates a variety of thematic information,enabling it to support scientific investigations,environmental and multi_disciplinary studies,and other applications. As a result of this project the Instituto Geográfico Militar de Chile produced a map at 1∶5 000 scale in digital format,and also a 1∶10 000 topographic map,in paper format,with two editions: first edition of two charts and a second edition with one chart covering the whole project area. Chile and other countries have a number of important permanent activities in this area. These maps are designed to support several and diverse geo_spatial studies related to these activities.

Graph neural networks(GNNs)have received intense interest as a rapidly expanding class of machine learning models remarkably well-suited for materials *** date,a number of successful GNNs have been proposed and demonstrated for systems ranging from crystal stability to electronic property prediction and to surface chemistry and heterogeneous ***,a consistent benchmark of these models remains lacking,hindering the development and consistent evaluation of new models in the materials ***,we present a workflow and testing platform,MatDeepLearn,for quickly and reproducibly assessing and comparing GNNs and other machine learning *** use this platform to optimize and evaluate a selection of top performing GNNs on several representative datasets in computational materials *** our investigations we note the importance of hyperparameter selection and find roughly similar performances for the top models once *** identify several strengths in GNNs over conventional models in cases with compositionally diverse datasets and in its overall flexibility with respect to inputs,due to learned rather than defined *** several weaknesses of GNNs are also observed including high data requirements,and suggestions for further improvement for applications in materials chemistry are discussed.

BACKGROUND Temporal lobe epilepsy(TLE)is the most common focal epilepsy subtype in adults and is frequently accompanied by depression,anxiety and *** in total paraoxonase 1(PON1)status may occur in TLE and these psychiatric *** To examine PON1 status,namely Q192R PON1 genotypes and PON1 enzymatic activities,in *** We recruited 40 normal controls and 104 TLE patients,27 without comorbidities and 77 with comorbidities including mood disorders(n=25),anxiety disorders(n=27)and psychosis(n=25).RESULTS Four-(chloromethyl)phenyl acetate hydrolysis(CMPAase)and arylesterase activities were significantly lower in TLE and mesial temporal sclerosis(MTS)with and without psychiatric comorbidities than those in normal *** areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve of CMPAase were 0.893(0.037)for TLE and 0.895(±0.037)for *** least squares path analysis showed that there were specific indirect effects of PON1 genotype on TLE severity(P<0.0001)and psychopathology(P<0.0001),which were both mediated by lowered CMPAase activity,while arylesterase activity was not *** severity of TLE was significantly associated with psychopathology ***,PON1 CMPAase activity was inversely associated with Mini Mental State Examination *** The severity of TLE and comorbidities are to a large extent explained by reduced PON1 enzyme activities and by effects of the Q192R genotype,which are mediated by reduced CMPAase *** PON1 status plays a key role in the pathophysiology of TLE,MTS and psychiatric comorbidities by increasing the risk of oxidative ***1 enzyme activities are new drug targets in TLE to treat seizure frequency and psychiatric comorbidities.

Biliary-colonic fistula is a rare complication after laparoscopic cholecystectomy. We present a case of post-cholecystectomy iatrogenic biliary injury that resulted in a fistula between the common hepatic duct and large bowel. Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography provided good visualization of injury even with concurrent normal level of alkaline phosphatase. Radiologic findings and surgical management of this condition are discussed in detail.
