A widely used aortic valve bioprosthesis is susceptible to regurgitation between the sewing ring and the frame of the valve due to its relatively thin fabric coverage. In some cases this leak has been shown to resolve with administration of protamine, however, tension on this area from annular sutures placed in an asymmetric bicuspid valve annulus may exacerbate the defect.

Decades of work have elucidated cytokine signalling and transcriptional pathways that control T cell differentiation and have led the way to targeted biologic therapies that are effective in a range of autoimmune,allergic and inflammatory *** evidence indicates that obesity and metabolic disease can also influence the immune system1-7,although the mechanisms and effects on immunotherapy outcomes remain largely ***,using two models of atopic dermatitis,we show that lean and obese mice mount markedly different immune *** converted the classical type 2 T helper(TH2)-predominant disease associated with atopic dermatitis to a more severe disease with prominent TH17 *** also observed divergent responses to biologic therapies targeting TH2 cytokines,which robustly protected lean mice but exacerbated disease in obese ***-cell RNA sequencing coupled with genome-wide binding analyses revealed decreased activity of nuclear receptor peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ(PPARγ)in TH2 cells from obese mice relative to lean mice.

Gamma Irradiation of Embryogenic Callus Cultures and In vitro Selection for Salt Tolerance in Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.)

Radiation induced mutagenesis followed by in vitro selection was employed for salt tolerance in popular Indian sugarcane （Saccharum officinarum L.） cv. CoC-671. Embryogenic calli were gamma irradiated and exposed to different levels of NaCl （42.8, 85.6, 128.3, 171.1,213.9, 256.7, 299.5, or 342.2 mM）. The relative growth rate （RGR） decreased progressively with increasing salt stress and was the least with a salt stress of 256.7 mM （0.25±0.009）, almost 10 fold lesser than the control. The RGR was significantly lower in 85.6 mM and higher salt stressed calli than the control. The survival percent also decreased, with an increase in NaCl concentration. In case of 10 and 20 Gy irradiated calli, regeneration was observed up to 85.6 mM NaCl selection, medium, whereas, higher treatments （128.3 mM and beyond） exhibited browning initially. However, in the subsequent subcultures, regeneration was obtained in the case of 10 and 20 Gy irradiated calli on 128.3 and 171.1 mM NaCl selections. Higher dose of gamma irradiation （40 Gy） also showed regeneration, but only with 85.6 mM NaCI selection. The unirradiated calli regenerated the highest number of plantlets followed by 10 and 20 Gy irradiated calli on salt selection. A total of 147 plantlets were selected from different salt levels. The salt selected plants are being tested for their field performance.

Evaluation of L-dopa,proximate composition with in vitro anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity of Mucuna macrocarpa beans:A future drug for Parkinson treatment

Objective: To investigate L-3, 4-dihydroxyphenylalanine(L-dopa, anti-Parkinson drug),anti-inflammatory activity, proximate nutritional composition and antioxidant potential of Mucuna macrocarpa(M. macrocarpa) ***: L-dopa content was determined and quantified by high performance thin layer chromatography and reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography(RPHPLC) methods. Anti-inflammatory activity was performed by in vitro protein denaturation inhibition and human red blood cell membrane stabilisation activity. Proximate composition and elemental analysis were also investigated. The antioxidant potential(2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl, N-N-dimethyl-phenylenediamine and ferric-reducing antioxidant power) of M. macrocarpa beans were evaluated by using different extraction solvents. The RP-HPLC analysis also quantified significant phenolics such as gallic acid, tannic acid, p-hydroxybenzoic acid and p-coumaric ***: RP-HPLC quantification revealed that M. macrocarpa beans contain a high level of L-dopa [(115.41 ± 0.985) mg/g] which was the highest among the Mucuna species from Indian sub-continent. Water extract of seed powder showed strong antiinflammatory and antioxidant potential. Proximate composition of M. macrocarpa beans revealed numerous nutritional and anti-nutritional components. RP-HPLC analysis of major phenolics such as tannic acid(43.795 mg/g), gallic acid(0.864 mg/g), p-coumaric acid(0.364 mg/g) and p-hydroxybenzoic acid(0.036 mg/g) quantified successfully from M. macrocarpa beans ***: This study suggests that M. macrocarpa is a potential source of L-dopa with promising anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and nutritional benefits.

Potato is one of the important food crops with a high yield potential and nutritional value. It has been used extensively for molecular farming to produce vaccines, antibodies and industrial enzymes. It has several desirable attributes as a favorable crop for the production of recombinant proteins. Potato tubers were employed for bulk production of recombinant antibodies. Vaccine production in potato has progressed to human clinical trials. Human milk proteins were successfully expressed in potato tubers. Potato hairy roots offer as another attractive system for the production of useful recombinant proteins both as intra cellular and secreted forms. This review describes the use of potato as a prospective host for plant molecular farming.

The drug L-DOPA has been widely used against Parkinson's disease and is extracted from *** to the increasing demand of this drug,new plant sources need to be discovered in addition to the existing *** paper embodies results on Mucuna monosperma,which can be a promising candidate for *** seed powder of this plant contains 5.48%of(dry weight)the drug and when the seeds were soaked in distilled water,content was increased to 6.58%.Different elicitors when added,enhanced the drug level in seed up to 11.8%.The possible rationale behind this increase was confirmed by increase in tyrosinase activity in the *** of L-DOPA was confirmed using various analytical techniques as HPLC,HPTLC and *** work demonstrates a potential candidate plant as a source for L-DOPA when a novel method was adopted as described here.

本文对高速电流开关线路作了分析,给出直流设计准则及实验结果。提出了一些改进的线路。这些改进线路大大地降低了对元件和电源电压的严格容差要求,此外还减少了元件数量和电源电压种类。对单一型晶体管和互补型晶体管电流开关线路进行了直流分析。讨论了各种类型线路的设计公式和驱动倍数。详细地研究了电流开关线路的瞬态过程。结果指出:限制每级最小延迟的因素是射基电容以及输入上升时间,晶体管的固有频率响应。对于由电流开关作成的半加器线路和发生器线路作了介绍。

Background: Despite expanding indications, data regarding the long-term durability of transcatheter heart valves (THV) are limited. Methods: We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of all published studies with ≥5years of follow-up reporting aortic valve reintervention rates of transcatheter (TAVR) and surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR). Randomized controlled trials (n = 4) and propensity-matched observational studies (n = 1) involving all surgical risk categories were included. The primary endpoint was the composite of aortic valve reintervention and death. Results: The meta- analysis included 4145 patients: 2101 underwent TAVR (mean age 81.7 ± 6.7 years, 54% male) and 2044 SAVR (mean age 81.8 ± 6.6 years, 54% male). All TAVR procedures were performed with early generations of THV. At a median follow-up of 5 years (range 5 - 6 years), TAVR had higher reintervention rates (odds ratio (OR) 3.33;95% CI: [1.78, 6.24], p 2 = 0%), all-cause mortality (OR 1.45;95% CI: [1.22, 1.75], p 2
