AIM:To investigate the therapeutic effect of Schistosoma mansoni(***) soluble worm proteins on gastrointestinal motility disturbances during experimental colitis in mice. METHOdS:Colitis was induced by intrarectal injection of trinitrobenzene sulphate(TNBS) and 6 h later,mice were treated ip with *** *** were performed 5 d after TNBS *** quantified using validated inflammation parameters. Gastric emptying and geometric center were measured to assess in vivo gastrointestinal *** activity of distal colonic segments was studied in vitro using a modified Trendelenburg *** profiles of T-lymphocytes isolated from the colon were determined by real time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction. CONCLUSION:Treatment with *** proteins attenuated intestinal inflammation and ameliorated motility disturbances during murine experimental colitis.

Plasma-based NO_(x) synthesis has been considered as a sustainable alternative to the conventional HaberBosch *** the advancements in research achieved in recent years,limited attention has been paid to the reversible dimerization reaction of NO_(2) to N_(2)O_(4).This reaction can significantly alter the parameters considered with the process’output,such as the concentration or volume fraction of products and the energy *** work aims to investigate the significance of dimerization through theoretical analysis and *** were conducted with a 2d-gliding arc reactor to evaluate the influence of dimerization in the case of plasma reactor *** was observed that the dimerization reaction reached equilibrium in microseconds,resulting in a maximum hypothetical NO_(2) equilibrium conversion of 48.8%.For plasma experiments,the dimerization could cause a maximum error of 14.1%in product detection,which needs to be carefully considered along with the influence of temperature variations on the measurement.

Since Moisture Sensitivity Level (MSL) tests are part of the international reliability qualification standards, all the microelectronics components/products have to pass these specifications. Therefore, it is important to be able to efficiently and accurately characterize and predict the moisture related material and interface behavior in the real manufacturing, processing, testing and application conditions. The success of interfacial fracture mechanics approach to analyze moisture-induced failures in IC packaging strongly depend on accurate characterization of the critical adhesion strength, Gc. However, its measurement is complicated by the fact that adhesion depends not only on moisture concentration, C, but also temperature, T, and mode mixity, ψ. This paper described our research to develop a reliable methodology for interface toughness evaluation as function of temperature, humidity and mode mixity. Our methodology includes using the four-point bending test and shaft-loaded-blister method. dedicated specimens consisting of various types of moulding compounds bonded onto leadframe are manufactured. Besides temperature, moisture content and mode mixity effects, also the influences of surface treatment (leadframe oxidation and contamination) and production process on the interface fracture toughness are evaluated. Multi-physics-based numerical methods are used to transfer the experimental critical loads to an interface strength parameter. These analysis covers mechanical, moisture diffusion, vapor pressure, hygro-swelling and CTE-mismatch modeling. To test and improve the methodology, various effects are evaluated, such as crack-length dependency, material properties, specimen- width, displacement-rate of the upper support/shaft, etc. The results of the proposed methodology indicate, as expected, a change in interface toughness by mode mixity, moisture content and temperature. The Southern African development Community(SAdC)region,a regional economic body comprised of 16 member states,is one of our planet's most vulnerable regions to natural hazards,and has a complex disaster risk *** region has sustained several disasters over the past *** events include annual floods in 2004-2019 and extreme droughts(1990-1993);other climate-induced disasters,such as cyclones,also have had devastating impacts,particularly on the Indian Ocean island states and east coast *** reduce the risk and impacts of dis asters,governments must invest in disaster risk reduction(dRR).However,interventions aimed at reducing social and economic vulnerability and investing in longterm mitigation activities are often few,poorly funded,and insignificant in comparison with money spent on humanitarian assistance,dis aster relief,and post-disaster *** study investigated whether dRR is adequately funded within SAdC member states in light of the high stakes in human life,infrastructure,and economic losses and the potential savings *** study applied a qualitative research design with data collected through semistructured interviews and focus group *** were selected purposefully and through snowball sampling with a total of 67 respondents from Botswana,Eswatini,Namibia,South Africa,and Zimbabwe participating in the *** study findings reveal that dRR is inadequately funded in all the member states consulted in comparison to funding allocated to disaster *** light of the underfunding experienced by dRR activities,this study provides a platform for lobbying and advocacy for adequate funding for dRR.

Objective： To evaluate the antimicrobial activity of the methanol extract from the stem bark of drypetes tessmanniana, fractions （dTB1-5） as well as compounds [friedelin （2）, 3,7-dioxofriedelane （3）, 3,15-dioxofriedelane （4）, 313 -O-（E）-3,5-dihydroxycinnamoyl-11 -oxo-olean-12-ene （6）, and 313,6 α -dihydroxylup- 20（29）-ene （7）. Methods： Agar disc diffusion was used to determine the sensitivity of the above samples, whilst the microdilution method was used for the determination of the minimal inhibitory concentration （MIC） and the minimal microbicidal concentrations （MMC）. Results： The diffusion test showed that the crude extract was able to prevent the growth of all tested organisms. All other samples showed selective activity. The inhibitory effect of the fraction dTB2 was noted on 63.7%, that of dTB1 and dBT3 on 54.6%, whilst dTB4 and dTB5 were active on 9.1% of the 11 tested organisms. The tested compounds prevented the growth of 81.8% of the tested microbial species for compounds 3 and 4, 36.7% for compound 6, and 18.2% for compound 7. The results of the MIC determinations indicated perceptible values for dTB and compound 4 on 81.8% of the tested organisms. For other samples, MICs were detected on 0-63.7%. The lowest MIC value （78.12 μg/mL） for the crude extract and fractions （dTB2） was observed on M. audouinii. The corresponding value for isolated compounds （156.25 μg/ mL） was noted with compounds 3 on S. faecalis and 4 on M. audouinii. The results of the MMC determination suggested that the microbicidal effect of most of the tested samples on the studied microorganisms could be expected. Conclusion： The methanol extract from the stem bark of drypetes. tessmanniana （Euphorbiaceae） as well as some of the isolated compounds might be potential sources of new antimicrobial drues.
